We visited Little Pub this past weekend and had a nice time. The atmosphere is pretty cool reminiscent of an English-esque pub. The service was very friendly and on point. The beer was cold and the food was pretty good. The had lots of different options. I would have liked to have seen some more traditional English dishes though like bangers and mash, or sausage rolls, or even a shepherds pie maybe. But they did have fish and chips. I opted for the Chicken and Waffles, and it was just what I wanted. They used a siracha maple syrup which was different, yet pretty tasty. I also sampled the Mac and cheese and the French fries--All very good. The place was pretty big, in fact it seemed bigger than its parking lot size. They had both indoor and outdoor seating and lots of it. On a Sunday afternoon, they weren't too busy. It is a place I would return though. read more

My husband and I visited one recent Saturday late afternoon and we usually enjoy sitting at the bar and interacting with people. So we made ourselves comfortable at the bar and ordered some drinks and wings. The vibe coming from the young lady bartender was very dark. I usually enjoy friendly banter with bartenders (I used to bartend) but this particular woman was extremely unfriendly to us. I'm wondering if she was reacting to the crosses both my husband and I wear...no excuse for the rudeness. And yeah, we tipped her anyway. read more

If I was basing this review on the wait staff this would be a 5 star review. Rebecca was great! Extremely personable and attentive. I couldn't decide between a burger and the Thanksgiving wrap and the wrap was what was recommended. Unfortunately, the stuffing was not great and neither was the gravy. The sandwich did have fresh sliced turkey. I was given several options for a side and chose mashed potatoes. My husband's cheeseburger Mac & cheese was pretty good and we decided to splurge on a skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. That was very good. The food is good. There is something for everyone including salads, apps, wraps, burgers, wings, and other pub food. Happy hour is not as good and some of our favorite bartenders no longer work there. They eliminated the best Chardonnay wines and now have only 2 I don't care for. read more

Let me just say the food is fine. But this place is hilariously odd. They had "jazz" music which was a double bass and (forgive me I don't remember the instrument but it was a treble instrument of some sort) duo covering songs such as pink pony club. I wish I could remember more but it was a ride range. Me and my coworkers were having a blast realizing what a song was about 30 seconds in. The wait staff was sub par but I don't think anyone there cared at all. Like waiters avoiding eye contact, eating at the bar, hostesses abandoning the front for 30 mins at a time. I got like fried cod tacos and they were actually kinda dope. We also tried the pickle chicken wings which were interesting. Just a quirky spot. Despite my 3/5 you have to go here. read more

First accolades to our food server Kyle. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and prompt without being intrusive. Hard balance for sure but he had it down to a science. The egg roll appetizers were delicious, my husband had the sticky chicken nuggets which were very good. I had the Napa salmon pita which was a ten. I opted for sweet potato fries, perfectly -cooked and half of my lunch came home with me. This spot has really upped its game with delicious food, too large portions and Kyle who pulled it all together perfectly. We will return and we will request his services. The service was the poorest I've ever experienced. There were literally like five tables occupied. The order was wrong. They took forever to take the food out. I have been eating here for the past couple years and I've never really had a problem until just recently. I've been having so many bad experiences but yet I keep going back to give another chance which there are no chances left. I got takeout from there today and this is the 3RD TIME IN A ROW that I have found hair in my food. It is disgusting. With the amount I pay for this food (which is extremely over priced) I expect to have a hair free meal that I can actually eat. Since I found that I just wasted $15 on something I only took 2 bites out of it. And to top it all off I ordered ranch and they gave me blue cheese after I SPECIFIED ranch and I ended up eating it. Plenty of parking all around the restaurant. We made reservations to be safe on Easter Sunday but they weren't very busy when we came in at 12pm. Plenty of options for kids and adults. We had heard about the buck a shuck from a friend and saw the brunch options as well. The kid's menu is a bit pricier than most spots especially for a plain or simple lunch option. They have endless/bottomless mimosas and bloody mart options. We ordered 3 dozen oysters, mimosa, avocado toast, buttery noodles, NE Clam chowder and mother of dragons. We had Jocelyn as our waitress. She was super sweet and friendly. The mimosa was ok but the mother of dragons drink was delicious. It had spiced rum, dragonfruit, cranberry, orange juice and a spalsh of soda. The avocado toast breakfast was filling. It was a bit too much avocado on one piece of toast but was enough for 2 pieces. The homefries were well seasoned. I will definitely order them extra crispy next time. For the kids they have crayons, menu they can color and wikki stixs! Love what they had for the kids. read more

We dined a bit early on a Saturday evening. Luckily, we were early enough to get a table. By the time we left there was a wait out the door. The place is beautiful decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There's lots of yummy stuff to choose from. I got a bowl of chill...so good...that came with tortilla chips. And a salad. My husband got a cheesesteak and had no complaints. My daughter got some spicy hot burger. She said it was really hot, but so good, and she ate every bite. Salter Caramel cheesecake was their cheesecake of the day and so worth it!! My husband also got the peanutbutter pie which was also delicious. The red phone booths around the parking lot made it fun, not to mention the Tinyloo in the ladies room. Yes...it's a really tiny stall, which I realized as I went in and then noticed the sign. I must have driven by this place a hundred times and never noticed it but we stopped in yesterday and I am so glad we did! We called ahead to let them know we would be a large group of 15 and when we got there they had a table all set up for us so we could sit together. The place is adorable inside, very rustic and cozy. Our server, Kayla, was FABULOUS! And she had helpers who were great as well. The first thing we noticed was that every single order came out at the same time. With such a large party, we hardly ever see that happen and it was a much appreciated touch. I had the salmon flatbread sandwich and we shared the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. The cauliflower was really good, slightly crispy and the buffalo sauce was not overbearing with heat. My sandwich was delicious. A good portion of salmon cooked perfectly on the most delicious flatbread. The toppings were a perfect compliment, although I felt it needed a little salt but I'd rather have to add my own than have it served with too much. I say this only because I don't usually salt my food but it wasn't an issue at all. I opted for the side salad and it was a great portion. The sticky chicken nuggets were a big hit at the table as well as the steak tips and macaroni & cheese. The Thanksgiving wrap was had by a few with the only complaint being too much stuffing inside. Overall, everyone loved their meals and we were, unfortunately, too full to try the desserts. The place is excellent; a keeper for sure on our list. read more

I am deeply disappointed to share that I will no longer be patronizing Little Pub in Old Saybrook. During my last visit, I ordered a sandwich specifically from the gluten-free menu, and because it tasted delicious, I felt the need to confirm the brand of bread being used, even though it was delivered to me as GF, with the GF pick in it. To my absolute horror, it was revealed that a "miscommunication" had occurred between the waitress and the kitchen staff--the gluten-free requirement was "noted" but didn't specify gf bread on the order ticket. As a result, I was badly glutened. Because of this serious lapse in safety protocols, I have officially crossed them off my list of favorites and will not be returning. read more

Loved the food, drinks, service and vibes here! Super cozy spot and perfect place for some bevs and comfort food on a cold December night. Apps were great - give the sticky nuggets and pretzel a try and you won't be disappointed. The mains were large portions and more than enough for everyone. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. Love the Christmas decor and festive holiday drinks. A lot of polar express groups seem to stop here before their trips north. Had lunch today at this restaurant and had a great meal. Ordered the Thanksgiving turkey wrap with a side salad. The wrap was huge, too big to fit my mouth around. Loaded with plenty of stuffing, nice pieces of turkey, cranberry sauce, mayo and a side of gravy and a side salad. The stuffing had plenty of flavor and the turkey was very tender and juicy. Could have had a little more cranberry sauce but that didn't detract on how flavorful the wrap was. The side salad was very fresh greens, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion, topped off by their blue cheese dressing (dressing was okay). Service was very good with everyone being very attentive to our needs. Seating was a combination of chairs and bench seating (looked pretty comfortable) and the inside of the building is very interesting with all the wood beams and floors. Definitely will be a visit back to try some other items on their pretty extensive menu and their daily specials. Somebody should be able to find something to their liking. read more

Our golf league had their holiday luncheon here today. Kayla, the manager was very helpful in assisting me to organize the gathering. Kyle, our server, and other staff had everything set up for our group. We had twenty four people in our group. We requested separate checks beforehand and to be able to order off the regular menu. All went as planned. A variety of meals were ordered. All our meals came out at the same time. Everyone enjoyed what they had ordered and many asked for to go boxes because the portions were so generous. At the conclusion of our gathering, Kyle efficiently brought each person their check. Food is horrible! Greasy fish sticks that they tried to pass off as fresh cod. Fries were cold and mushy. Clam chowder they admitted was canned! The owners niece started throwing a fit because we refused to pay for this awful food and kept making rude comments about us at another table. It was so bad. Ordered dinner through Uber eats. Called and asked for them to sub cheddar cheese instead of gorgonzola on their buffalo mac and told them my name to look out for on the order. They said they could do that but I accidentally placed the order under the wrong name. We called and asked if they could replace it even though it was our fault and the manager said yes. Stopped here for some takeout when I was in the area and was not disappointed! Little Pub was easy to find and had plenty of parking. I ordered my wrap through the toast app and it was ready when I got there. The hostess was friendly and efficient. The inside of the restaurant was cute and rustic, next time I will have to sit inside and eat. The wrap itself was delicious. I had a hard time deciding what kind of wrap I wanted because there was so many options. They aren't just regular wraps either, but creative combinations that all sound great. Taking a star off because it was expensive. $15 (+tax) for a wrap and fries is more expensive than most places I've been too. Overall, would recommend! read more

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was completely soured by the behavior of the manager. From the moment we arrived, there was a tense vibe that only got worse as the night went on. The manager was visibly rude--not just to the staff (who were doing their best under pressure) but also to the live band playing. It was uncomfortable to watch, and it definitely affected the overall atmosphere. Instead of feeling like a welcomed guest, I felt like I was intruding on his personal agenda to leave by 9 as he continued to consume alcohol while barking orders. Hospitality matters. No matter how good the food might be, if the energy in the room feels hostile, it's hard to enjoy anything. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend it unless things seriously change. read more
