5 stars +. Of course we have all seen the Ocean Course on TV but being there in person you can truly understand it's popularity among amateurs and professionals alike. Best of all, the service is excellent. Very organized and armed with caddies that are knowledgeable and hard-working, it allows you to focus on the challenging but beautiful course. Add this to your golf bucket-list for sure.

We had a blast playing today! My friends and I know an awesome Kiawah Island employee who was able to get us on the course. Initially, she called the pro shop and talked to Nathan who told her the tee sheet was completely booked. We decided to go anyways to get some merchandise at the pro shop. Dalton, who was sitting next to Nathan told us the tee sheet was virtually empty and was able to book us. I'm extremely disappointed with Nathan, who lied to our friend (the Kiawah employee) about availability. We all felt disrespected. Additionally he hung up abruptly when my friend and I called about simple inquiries.

Ever since I saw the Ryder Cup played at the Ocean Course it has been on my bucket list; I was not disappointed! It is a tough track, and with the wind blowing 40-50 mph the back-nine was a son-of-a gun! Our caddy Zeke, was very helpful, he gave accurate yardages and was very attentive. The cart "paths" were rustic, so if you can, I recommend walking to increase your links experience. Allow an extra 15 minutes to arrive in good time for your tee-time as it is back in there! The homes on the course were impressive but not obtrusive to the remote feeling whilst playing. Well worth a visit! (I also missed a 4 foot putt on the final hole like Bernhard. It wasn't his fault it is tough to read!)

Me, waiting to tee off. Maybe on 14 or 15.

I played in January 2021. I've played many courses in Myrtle Beach, this was only the second course I've played on Kiawah. The caddies were awesome and the course was magnificent. Perfect. Beautiful. I did not get there on time to warm up so it took me a while to loosen up and I played terribly, but it didn't matter. I had a great time just being on this course. I would recommend this course to anyone who loves golf. It's not cheap by any definition, but it's worth the money for a one of a kind experience.

10 Stars! Beautiful, meticulous, pristine...A must play for every golfer. Getting to play it a month before the championship was amazing. No carts, walking with caddy made us feel like tour players. Bobby our caddy was great with me and especially my teenaged son. Great advice, spot on reads on the greens. This will be an annual trip for us!

I'm a huge fan of Pete Dye so when we had a chance to take a last minute vacation to SC, we had to play this course. It's walking only and a very easy walk as it's pretty flat. Beautiful views and good caddies. Great lunch after our round!

If you would like to get your buttocks (trying to be classy with my words here, considering this is a very high class establishment) handed to you, then head to the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. It is by far one of the nicest, well maintained courses I've ever been to (that's not saying all that much, but the golfer I was with agreed and he frequents the courses just as much as Spieth and McIlroy...) with a wonderful ocean breeze to take the edge off of the glowing sun. 18 holes will take you about 4-5 hours, regardless of how good you are.... And the average score on these links is a 100, even though it's a PAR 72 course (or at least that's what I thought I saw on the tee card). I didn't play any golf while at this course (except for hitting a few balls at the driving range) because I didn't want to be a show off... So instead I observed my golfer and his father birdie, par, bogie and double bogie... And hit a few in the hazards, ha ha! No Eagles were spotted unfortunately, but being from WYOMING, I only really expect them to come out in the Rocky Mountains...? Okay that was bad. Ha Ha Ha. Any ways, if you want to treat yourself (as I know this place costs a PRETTY PENNY) to a stunning round of golf, with ocean views, sights of mansions, and the occasional alligator, then come on over! You have to walk the course prior to 12pm, with a caddie, but after 1pm you can take a cart, however, a caddie still has to be present and it's recommended you tip him at least $25 per person playing... On top of everything else. PS: if you believe beer will improve your golf swing (yeah, it probably won't), a can is $5 and the concession girl will be driving around to serve you... PSS: I had to pee, and on hole 14, I believe, there is a bathroom... The nicest in the middle of nowhere bathroom I've ever used before!

Such a beautiful view - always mesmerizing. Lunch is a must every visit. Don't skip the burger and onion rings! Pecan crusted chicken is another winner! Take your time to relax it's well worth it.

I'm sure by now you've heard the old proverbial saying "If you looked up the definition of Perfect, you would see a picture of........" Well, perfect is here, perfect is the ocean course, the Ryder Cup Bar and Grill and it's employee's. I'm not going to write about the course, God started it first and man brought a lawn mower. I'm writing this review about the operation. Disney couldn't run it better. First the pro shop on the ocean course. I met a gentleman named "Dick" a finer person you will not fined amoungst the golfing community, I wish I had employees like him, I wouldn't have gone grey so early. At the Ryder Cup Bar and Grill I met a wonderful Venezuelan hostess, she was vibrant, positive and maintained a very professional aura. Our server was equally as professional. I could have just hung out there for hours, the place is beautiful, historic and they have quality employees.

In my opinion this is an A+ driving range, not to be missed! Kiawah Island is fantastic for those willing to take the drive and this particular golf course is no exception. A villa at Turtle Point, is ideal if you are looking for a quiet game of tennis or a round of golf on a pristine course with friends. The experience, like many on Kiawah island is really quite great. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the staff continues to check in from your arrival to departure to make sure your visit is impeccable. It is quite the experience! I can't say enough about the jaw dropping outdoor views and beautifully design course landscaping, it is stunning every direction you look. Also, the wildlife is incredible, just so spectacular to take in. Watching the tropical birds, southern fish, baby alligators, and even the flowers is quite marvelous. This is a part of the resort that is simply breathtaking and I do recommend coming here. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would in an instant!

While its a challenging course, playing in somewhat inclement weather made it a bit more challenging. Of the 3 courses we played-- Turtle Point and Osprey Point-- I found this to be the most difficult---certainly based on my score. Just the fact that you start out with a par 5 on the first hole should say something. How about having 3 par 5's and 3 par 3's on the front 9? I don't think I'd seen that before. Then 2 par 5's and 2 par 3's on the back 9. The back 9 for me was much more difficult. The condition of the fairways and greens are what you'd expect from a Kiawah Island course. The folks on the course and the pro shop were very friendly and helpful.

I feel Oak Point is the best course for a variety of skill level players, it would be challenging to the novice golfer and the experienced player will have a fair test, but may prefer the other 4 courses. The par 5's are reachable, but typically guarded on 3 sides with bunkers or other non green zones. Bordering the historic Haulover Creek and the Kiawah River, Oak Point was built on the grounds of an old indigo and cotton plantation. As I mentioned with the other Kiawah golf courses, Oak Point is another example of quality golf that Kiawah Island has to offer. The 18-hole Oak Point plays 6,759 yards of golf from the tips for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.8 and it has a slope rating of 140 on Bermuda grass, designed by Clyde B. Johnston. I have to rate Oak Point at the bottom of list of my Kiawah Golf Courses, but do not have that dissuade you from playing there, it is still excellent..The signature hole is #18
