Decided to check this place out on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was incredibly friendly and exceptionally accommodating. The food menu offered plentiful choices and there were lots of good drink options on special as well as over a dozen fresh beers on tap. The space itself is open and spacious. There were lots of TVs in the area, so it would be very ideal for watching a major sporting event. Food prices were very reasonable and it seemed like there was happy hour in the afternoon during the weekday visit. Overall, this is a really chill and welcoming environment. Parking was easy in the adjacent lot and the bathrooms were clean. The food portions were a bit small but the quality seemed pretty high. I ordered the blue cheese burger with fries. They did have a video lottery section in the back that I did not check out but it is available. There was also a pool table and a modern jukebox machine. This is a great local spot with friendly servers and diverse food and drink options. I definitely plan to go back and frequent this place more often! I've been meaning to try The Office forever. It's big, clean, and has the nicest people. What a great surprise!

The office was a great place to go. Unfortunately recently the service, food and ambiance has deteriorated. I have a service dog and I was harassed by the owners. My dog is registered with the DOT and supported by the laws of the ADA. The food is inconsistent and sometimes just bad. Many of the bar staff are good but most of the time during the day they spend their time on the phone, eating or cleaning the bar. Owner is angry and has been out raged, thrown things and gotten in physical fights in front of patrons. Lots of other places to go in Milwaukie. read more

A solid local spot with great neighborhood vibes. The bartenders are all charming, with dynamic personalities and among all of them... you're bound to find at least one of them to be a "favorite". Personally don't really care for sports but they do well catering to this crowd/experience and any birthdays or occasions needing celebrations, great space for these events. The Office is surprisingly large! The inside is decorated well. The food here is hit and miss... I enjoyed the artichoke dip and chicken with lemongrass gyouza, but the pickle chips are too salty and the cheese curds were greasy and lacking that signature squeak. The bar is moderately stocked (basics with a few highlights), most notable adds were Bookers Bourbon and an Absolute flavored vodka assortment. Sadly, no mint simple syrup for julips in winter (what Bookers is for IMHO) and the bartenders had no idea how to make several drinks. Really like the recent expansion. Took over the barber shop space next door and retaining the barber's chairs was a nice touch. Playing pool and relaxing there last night was a lot of fun. Servers and appetizer-like food choices were better than expected. Easy parking, large lot. Best NAME in the BIZ. The only negative was the lighting. As bright as daylight inside at 10pm. I think this place may have been made just for me. I own my own bookkeeping business and am a total night owl. I have a hard time finding places to work when I'm out of town. I end up often at noisy sports bars being the weird girl in the corner on her laptop at 9pm on a weeknight. I got here at 6:15ish and there 3 other people working. There was music, upbeat alt-rock/pop. Think Vampire Weekend or Foster the People. It was at the perfect level so the other customers, while having lively conversations, didn't feel like they had to yell over the music. I just found out the best Bartender the Office had was Kristen, she was amazing. She apparently was fired for no reason. She would make sure every customer greated when they walked in the door. And if a customer was waiting she would would always say, '" I will be right with. First class service! She always made the best cocktails,,very creative. I always made sure on Thursday and Fridays to come and see her. NO MORE, their are to many Bars around and so we will be going else where. This is a coffee shop, squishy couches, Christmas tree being decorated, relaxed and friendly staff that ooze "don't rush" vibe and allow you to just enjoy your time out, musiccis playing but in the background, nothing loud or offensive. The prices are spot on, seasonal drinks were perfectly heated so you can drink them immediately without waiting til it is cold, my egg sandwich croissant was so buttery and rich it was paired perfectly with my eggnog latte. We had not been in before as I thought it was more of a plain little deli and coffee shop however its actually really cute inside and the girl who helped us was super nice. I was so excited to see a new place open up in our neighborhood and I've been meaning to come here! Service: Today I called ahead to see if they'd be playing the Timbers game tonight and the woman on the other end enthusiastically said "yes"! So I went down! I walked in and the woman was very nice, showed me the screen she was showing it on and told me to let her know if I wanted it on any other screens (they had four). Great! How nice! She was the only worker there tonight. Unfortunately once I sat down, I noticed that the screen she was showing it on had a pretty bad glare. No problem! I ordered some tater tots and drinks and asked her if she'd mind switching it to the screen behind me. She stared at me blankly so after a moment I said, "oh sorry are other people watching that screen?" to which she replied, "yah. I'm watching that one". I told her it was alright and so could she put it on the far screen to the left that no one is watching? I explained that there was a glare from the windows making it hard to watch. She replies "Oh is there a glare?" then walks away without switching anything at all. So I continue to watch the TV with the glare on it. 20 minutes into the second half, I decided to take a photo of how bad the glare was (posted here as well). She sees me and decides to put it on the screen I asked her to in the far left corner but she doesn't say anything. I quietly move over to that corner so I can watch it. To make matters worse, she switches the sound to the Blazers game even though it hadn't started so she was basically watching 10 minutes of ads while the last 10 minutes of the Timbers game was playing! It was super inconsiderate she didn't even ask how long was left in the Timbers game that I was watching. If she had asked, she would have noticed that the games didn't even overlap. What's the point of having multiple screens if you aren't able to manage them? Food/drinks: Ordered tater tots. Soggy one side, burned on the other side. They also took 20 minutes to get to me. There's a drink menu but if you happen to pick something that's in the case by the door, she says "oh it's over there" then has you go get it. She did this to me when I ordered a stout and then to another customer after he ordered iced tea. She responded, "We don't carry it." Then after a moment says, "oh wait we do it's over there" and has him go get it. A customer next to me orders an old fashioned and his friend orders a whiskey sour. The woman makes the drinks then hands them over proclaiming, "this one sucks cuz I don't have oranges so I just used juice." He drinks it and politely tells her it's fine. She says later on, again, "I thought I did a pretty good job at making it bad." Yikes! I watched as the customer rolled his eyes. Sad. I'm pretty easygoing and I know not everyone is interested in the game that I'm watching but she obviously wasn't interested in accommodating a paying customer and she won't ever have to again. Plenty of other places around to go to! Food: bad, service: terrible, drinks (self proclaimed) "suck". Save your money and go a little further to Kay's Bar in Sellwood instead. The feeling of this place is that it LOOKS super nice but unfortunately they just don't have the staff. I've been in customer service (specifically food service) for over a decade. You easily could make a place like this work with the right person on bar but this lady was not someone you leave alone to run your business. Don't recommend it and I won't be returning. read more

The Office is my go to place with all the new covid guidelines. They do it RIGHT! We have tried many other establishments in the area and didn't feel comfortable. Everyone working wears their mask correctly. Other places, servers would come up to us and pull them down to talk. Also, they reinforce that customers are wearing them while not seated and sanitize like crazy. They also have a sanitizer station by the door. We highly suggest visiting The Office. I'll admit, I was skeptical. First of all, I struggle to find good places in Milwaukie. Second, I rolled in and I saw the lotto signs in the window and I automatically judged the place and the expected clientele (yes, myself included). Also, the parking lot was empty. (Granted, it's a Wednesday morning/almost noon). So I hesitantly pulled open the door, and as expected, it was EMPTY. And I mean empty. I'm pretty sure I even wrinkled my nose as I approached the counter. To my delight, the person behind the counter (and presumably the owner, based on the conversations I overheard) was SO friendly, kind and welcoming, and the small taplist was delightfully tasteful. She offered samples/tastes and was very accommodating. I tucked away in a corner near a window and jammed out to some really chill covers of just about every song imaginable (a pretty rad Pandora playlist, if you ask me - I set Shazaam to Auto)! The beer was good, the snacks were fine (I had soft pretzel stix and castelvetrano olives) and decently priced, and despite it being empty, I felt really good and at home here so the vibe totally fit my mood. I would definitely recommend this place to just come in and chill. And I will probably be back before I move out of state. Bravo, Office.
