    avocado toast
    Leeza N.

Let me start off this review by saying how gorgeous this restaurant is inside, spacious and has a fun vintage feel and the staff are amazing here! The food itself is quite expensive, my friends and I went for their brunch menu during our road trip pit stop. I got the avocado toast and I appreciated how much avocado they put on it, the goat cheese was a nice touch as well. The reason why I'm giving this place 3/5 is due to the fact that it is quite expensive, the food was nothing to write home about and the menu selection was quite small. I do think it is a great place, just wasn't a big fan myself

the food is decent, the staff are super nice but it just took so long for our food to come which ruined part of the experience. the place wasn't packed and it took over 25 minutes for 2 dishes to come. half the food came out cold, and it's not the cheapest either.

Plenty of seating with big windows to let in natural light. We stopped by on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy and still had plenty of tables. But by the time we left it was getting full. They have their brunch menu and then special items that change. We both went with the soft shell crab benny since this was something unique. The portion was large and I liked that instead of an English muffin, it was a potato rosti. The soft shell crab was crisp and had a strong flavour. This was definitely for those that like seafood. The cucumber salad with dill was refreshing and paired nicely with it. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The Offy is a very nice establishment to eat at any time of the day. When I came inside, I immediately loved the interior of the eatery. The appearance inside looks very sophisticated and clean, borrowing a lot of influence from the French European aesthetic. I received a table right away and was given a glass of water and a full glass bottle to help myself. I ordered their French Toast with Coffee. The French toast tasted wonderful; thanks to the raspberry compote it came with. The vanilla mascarpone was very luscious, and you can really taste the cinnamon on it. The coffee was decent, although I would not spend $4 on decent-quality coffee. The service was really great. The waitress came to my table very often and made sure I was having a good eating experience. Some of the prices, like their dinner entrees, are a little pricy in my opinion. I will give The Offy 4 star, just because I want to come back there for dinner and see how that goes. Nonetheless, I recommend this restaurant for brunch outings.

While we officially came to visit district 1881 (little disappointed on that front) we were earlier enough and hungry enough to enjoy some brunch. At initial glance, this restaurant had a beautiful aesthetic both inside and out. It was relatively busy inside with some spare tables and had very beautiful staff working. With that being said, when our waitress came over to serve us, and we had noted that we were ready to order, she hesitated, and said "I can get you started with drinks first, as the kitchen may be busy". It was just the two of us, and we had some time to spare so we understood, although questioned how busy it truly was as most people had their orders taken, and or had their food. I found the dishes were quite pricey as they included a side salad instead of a traditional potato side or option for one. They do offer sides that you can add on your own. However, I felt at $20 plus it should come with a little something extra than greenery. We had noticed a party had 70% of their food and the other 30% was missed and they ended up waiting to get their food after ours came and it made for a slight awkward interaction. The overall service didn't really feel too warm and comforting (read: less genuine more transactional?) the croque madame was good and so was the breakfast sandwich so it wasn't a bad meal per se, it was just our overall experience as a whole and the quantity/cost of it. I'm not sure if they have coat hooks or anything but because of the café style chairs it does make it a little bit difficult to hang your jacket and purse behind you, so that's just a general comment and a personal preference at best. I can imagine in the summer time when the outdoor seating is available, how busy it will be. There is gorgeous floral decorations and it makes for a beautiful picture. Not sure I will make a specific trip out to this place, there are a few brunch spots within the complex but hopefully you enjoy your meal nevertheless!

The entrance is delightfully well-done, and our faces lit up when we walked into the bar - intricately detailed and authentic enough that a '20s dress code could be reasonably enforced. We were seated immediately, and the cadence of service was immaculate: our appetizer came out just after our drinks, and the entrees appeared as we were taking the last bites of the appetizer. But I wasn't thrilled with my selections. The Rum Punch was served at room temperature and the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich was drier than the description suggested. My partner got the Jalisco Fizz, which she says paired well with the mushroom pasta, and really enjoyed the salmon deviled eggs. At $11-14, the drinks are priced well, but the food is overpriced. The jalapeño chicken sandwich was not a $23 sandwich, and a tempting lobster/shrimp roll was listed at $35. Overall Speakeasy Saloon is worth making an evening of. Dress up and sip on whiskey drinks in the low light with loved ones.

The staff were always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. They had a huge awesome cocktail selection(including blended frozen delights !) at really reasonable prices. They also had TVs that showed sports and a smaller one for lotto like Keno. My dad accidentally ordered a chocolate martini instead of an espresso martini, and Aaron made it happen. (The entire table loved it! Take that poured over some ice cream and I'd be far too content!) My brother had the gin martini, and while not a fan of gin straight up, it had a nice smooth finish that I could appreciate.

They have a pretty much perfect interior design and furnishing: very chill and simple but also very charming decor. Menu is very straightforward and simple and has pretty good pricing especially for a Bellingham spot. Service was great and not overstimulating like many places. Food was actually extremely well thought out and executed. Platings come in 2 sizes with simple choices of fillings/sauces, and the portion sizes were excellent- 1lb for me (a bigger guy) and 1/2 for the lady and we both were comfortably full after eating! Dessert deserves its own section in this review because holy mole: it was truly impeccable. I've had quite a few desserts in my time but these really "took the cake". Honey cake was beautiful and soft, it had a gentle sweetness and almost had a spiced undertone to it. Very light and very well executed, it sat perfectly with the dumplings. But the CRÈME BRÛLÉE :') I truly could weep over how beautiful this dish was, it was like I found the love of my life all over again. Gently centered on a plate half dusted with powdered sugar, topped with a small fresh strawberry and sprig of mint. Truly mind boggling how good it was, an incredible mix of sweet crème and gentle taste of black tea. I never expected this to be such a great combination but it was incredibly well executed. Whomever the mastermind was behind the creation of the menu and shop: I tip my hat to you, for this was a truly wonderful experience. Everything was obviously very thoughtfully planned out and perfected, I have mad respect for their work. 2 plates of dumplings, 2 drinks and 2 desserts was under 80$. An all time favorite date night spot at a much more reasonable price than other places near Barkley/Bellingham. 11/10 If I could give more than 5 stars I would

I was the only one there. I always wonder when I go to any food establishments that are this slow. Either their food is not that good or they have bad service or overpriced. I ordered a whole LB and my girls got drinks from the cooler fridge. I guess I should have paid more attention, but the lady charged me for 2 orders. Only realized that after I sat down and was wondering why my bill was like $90. When I went to the counter, the assistant pretty much placed the blame on me... " sorry for the misunderstanding " But the thing is there was no misunderstanding, I was pretty clear on what I ordered, either she wasn't listening or paying attention... She did offer me a refund, but at the time the food was already at the table. I chose to just take the "extra" surprise order to go. Dumplings were mediocre at best. I have had my share of Russian dumplings all the way from Moscow to New York to Chicago and this was hands down was the loser of all. Sauces were not bad but not enough for me to come back or to recommend this place to anyone. I would go to Pelmeni downtown instead next time.
