Seated immediately, friendly staff, explained some of the menu and let us know the specials. Drinks were bright quickly and order taken in a timely manor. We were sat in the 'round' room and it was cozy and quiet. We both ordered the alla coco after it was explained that the Cioppino was a soup, as it looked delicious, but we weren't craving a soup. The linguine was amazing, full of seafood and creamy, garlicky Alfredo sauce. Served with a generous slice of garlic bread, we were left stuffed with no room for dessert. I had been coming to the Mission Station Grill for the past eight years now and have enjoyed every single meal. From their appetizers and salads to their pasta dinner and main entrees, they succeed my taste buds. Even with their expansive menu choices, they always serve something different from their daily special Lunch, Dinner and Brunch menus, which I mainly order from. The staff is courteous and enthusiastic in their work. I had never recalled having any problems with the service. I even like the restaurant's theme of trains, where you see the interior is decorated with portraits and even a train kiddy ride in the corner. The rest of the restaurant is mildly lit, which I like in an establishment, and seems very clean and orderly. If I had any complaints about the restaurant, I would say the coffee there is sort of bland, but that is it. If there were any dishes I would recommend, I suggest trying their schnitzels, the braised brisket, which is one of their dinner specials that is served often, and the Station Salad. This is the best restaurant in Mission for both dinner and brunch. read more

Came to this place for the first time for a meal.. Decent ambience and plenty of seating and parking, not too far from downtown Mission.. The Hostess was very polite and welcoming, helped choose the most popular Schnitzel item on the menu i.e. Neptune Schnitzel.. Substituted potatoes with crispy fries. The order came in a short while and was topped with Shrimp and Cream Sauce, a hearty portion.. Taste wise it was decent and the Veal was breaded and done well.. The food was so good. We both got something different to try and the portions were huge. The staff was so friendly and very prompt to help. The atmosphere of the restaurant was what we like not dressy more of a casual place but with a huge menu selection. We will for sure be going back. It was a snowy day and we did not want to travel too far for dinner. We had often seen Mission Station when driving through Mission and decided to give it a try. The inside is like a roadhouse/pub but it was not too noisy the night we were there so we were able to talk to each other without having to shout across the table. Our server Marti was terrific. She checked on us throughout the evening to ensure that everything was okay. I must say that all the staff that we dealt with were great. They were all very cheerful and welcoming. We felt like our business was important and the interaction with the staff was very nice. We had made reservations for a table but when we were shown our table we asked if we could have another table as the table for two they escorted us to was very small and the lighting at the table was too dim. No problem. We started off with an appetizer of prawns with garlic, butter, tomatoes and garlic bread. It was delicious and unlike most restaurants the portion was very generous consisting of 8 good sized prawns on the order. Unlike another review we thought that the garlic bread was nice and garlicy. For entrees my husband had fusilli arrabiata with an order of steak and peppercorn sauce. He said that the pasta was a bit too spicy for his taste, the steak was just okay taste wise although it was perfectly cooked as ordered and the peppercorn sauce did not have much taste. I ordered the lobster al forno. It was very good with garlic butter and the price was just under $30.00. It was very good value. The vegetables with the lobster were uninspired. The roasted potatoes were very good but the red cabbage, carrots and broccoli were not very interesting. We shared a deep fried apple pie for dessert. It looked like a large spring roll and came with ice cream and whipping cream. It was okay but we wouldn't order it again. The service at Mission Station is terrific. The food is hit and miss depending on what you order. The prices are very reasonable for the quantity and if you order the right items, the quality of the food. read more

If you're looking for a place that takes pride in their food and only uses the freshest ingredients. Then don't go to the Mission Station Grill... there are much better choices in the area. I've tried this place several times hoping that perhaps they would listen to the bad reviews and make more of an effort. If anything they have gotten worse. I suppose choosing to harass the reviewers rather than fix the problems seemed easier to them. I have found their food ranges for edible to "I have no idea what this is" to "I'm afraid to swallow". They use the cheapest ingredients possible and make odd substitutions that no normal cook would make (unless you're drunk, but still crave a particular dish but your pantry is empty so you "get creative"). Examples of this bizarre "drunk cooking" is a tortilla loaded with cheap canned pie filling and deep fried or lasagna made with spaghetti noodles???? It almost seems like they were given very vague descriptions of what common dishes are supposed to look like. Or perhaps they have taken up some challenge to ruin classic favourites like apple pie & lasagna. So if you like the idea of paying too much for the cheapest ingredients possible made by someone who's given up on caring, served by a waitress who might be as high as kite (happened once), then Mission Station Grill is what you're been looking for. Otherwise, give this place a pass. There's some hidden gems in this area, but this isn't one of them. I wish I had taken a picture of the sad meal we paid over $60 for two, so you could see just what you're missing by going elsewhere. read more

I've given the Mission Station Grill 3 chances to dazzle me. Three strikes and they're out! I won't be going back because frankly, their food is just blah! I think the ownership tries too hard and I suspect they have little experience. It appears that what's important to them is portions and value. Albeit that the portions are generous, yet the food just lacks flavour. If you manage to sit in a booth looking into the kitchen, you will witness poor hygiene and food handling. Line cooks aren't wearing hats or hairnets and a lot of skin to food touching and no hand washing . . . gross! My last meal was their roast lamb. I asked the server how it compared to Eleni's Greek Restaurant right across the tracks and she said it was just as good. Sadly, this wasn't the case. In fact, the roast lamb meal was sub standard at best. Who pours gravy over a roast lamb?? It was certainly a non memorable meal and I will not recommend those restaurant to anyone. I don't know what it is about Mission restaurants. The BlackBerry Kitchen, Martin's Downtown, Eleni's, and maybe Mission Springs get a two thumbs up. Disappointing. However i shouldn't be surprised. This is Mission. BC, a hick town where the food service industry thinks they're as good as Abbotsford or Langley. Instead their is attitude and staff are seemingly rewarded for providing poor service. This place lacks many basic and virtually all essential elements of good customer service, and of course, quality food. Mission Station Grill has a lot of potential but many staff in our visit fit the above descriptions. I seen the elderly blonde tall waitress referred who is standoffish. Not friendly or accommodating at all. She should be cleaning tables not serving customers. It seems the hiring manager has a thing for blondes. In terms of food, its like wow. Daily dinner specials disappear quite early. Arrogant blonde waitress replies its late, but it's only 6 pm and the kitchen is open until 10, Prices are ridiculously expensive, similarly priced to Brown's Social House but the quality of food is night and day. Not restaurant quality at all at Mission Station Grill. Is anything made from scratch here? There's a microwave or two in the kitchen being used a fair bit. Umm. Warning sign! Food is or at least tastes like it is commercially processed. From the canned mushrooms, pickles, frozen perogies, pizza, salads including spinach. It seems like it is nothing more than basically Safeway commercially prepared frozen and canned food, mashed up, served and presented as restaurant quality. It's an interesting concept for sure. Its like the customer buys inexpensive low grade grocery items and they'll prepare them for you because you're too lazy. They'll charge you high-end prices too. However, the customer is not buying the items, the restaurant is. It's really bewildering why the locals put up with these kinds of bars and restaurants in Mission. It's like they know it's bad, but return anyway so they can be subjected to low standards. They just suck it up. Or is perhaps they believe the food is ok and perceive that most food places in Mission are 4 or 5 stars and Browns Social House is like a 7 star Michelin restaurant? We won't repeat, don't recommend. Go to Browns, Mission Springs if you don't waiting a long time for your food, McDonald's or Subway for a quick bite instead of coming to Mission Station Hill. Better still, just drive the heck out of Mission and eat in another town. You will be glad you did. read more

Have been to the Station Grill in Mission many times for lunch. They have a great daily $7.99 lunch special that is always very tasty - a great variety of choices. The fries are great! Staff are very friendly. Restaurant is comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend as a great casual dining option in the valley. read more

If I could give this place Zero stars I would. Have been there twice. First time it took 1.5 hours to get terrible food and a warm beer. Second time went with 3 other people and it took 53 minutes to get our appies and then got the prime rib for special and it took another 45 minutes to get our mains, got 4 prime ribs all supposed to be medium rare. 3 came well done and one med well. One word for their terrible food and lack lustre service. FAIL! I will NEVER GO BACK! read more

Mission Station Grill openly recently in Mission (April 2013) in a location that has had at least 5 different restaurants in the last 15 years. We went there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch was mediocre, but the dinner was simply tasteless. For lunch, we had Broccoli cheddar soup, Hell's Chicken Burger, Onion rings and the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, The Chicken Burger was by far the tastiest. The lunch was fairly expensive at $37 for two people. For dinner (on a separate occasion), we had the Seafood Spaghettini, the Greek Chicken Burger and the Prime Rib. Overall, our server was excellent. However, she informed us that the Prime Rib was "slightly more pink than medium," but was one of the house specialities. Although we prefer our prime rib "medium rare," we decided to give it a try. All the food was so tasteless that we refused to take home the leftovers. The Prime Rib tasted like meat with no seasoning and was medium to well done. The pasta tasted like a jar of Ragu was thrown in with the seafood which was overcooked and spongy. Adding parmesan did nothing to enhance the taste. The chicken sandwich was a large piece of breast meat, but was bland and tough. The fries were undercooked. Although we did not have any drinks, the meal was still over $70 making this NOT an economical place to dine out. Do not eat here if you are looking for tasty food at a good price. Unfortunately, this restaurant appears to be following a pattern similar to the other restaurants in this location. You will find better value and taste two blocks down the road at Jimmy's Lunch Box for lunch...ask the locals. read more

Food was really good, great prices! When we got inside we waited 15 mins before being served, which she stated it was because of short staffing. Waitresses were standoffish and a little rude. I am not from around Mission BC and I always loved seafood. Searching for the best seafood in Mission is not as easy as I thought even with the aid of Internet. So me and my mum drove around randomly and stumbled upon Mission Station Grill. It looks good from the outside and we stepped in to a nice new modern interior design concept. We started ordering scallops which comes with this amazingly creamy sauce and they both go hand in hand really well like they belonged. Also the fried oyster is made different from most places but its done differently flavourful! Freshness is key. But what impressed me most is my serving of spaghettini which comes with gratuitous amounts of seafood. I had 11 fresh mussels and generous amounts of scallops and prawns unlike most other restaurants who like to cheap out on the fresh seafood I'm fortunate to have found Mission Station Grill. Great lunch at this mission gem! Came in at noon with a real hunger. I felt like something light but filling. Ordered the Shrimp club house with German pickle beef soup. Boy oh boy I wasn't disappointed. The sandwhich was fresh and light as I wanted. The soup to die for. The service was quick and friendly. A cold beer to wash it down and I was on my way in 20 minutes. If you want a lunch in mission that isn't fast food this is your spot! read more

I'm usually not the review type...but just have to give these guys Kudos. We keep going back and having great meals over and over so I'm compelled to say something about it. Last week we had the Prime Rib dinner and it was sooo damn good (and that wasn't the first time). Although my wife continues to wonder why I eat horseradish and put myself through the watery eye torture, she'll never understand that some guy things are just necessary. The gravy was delicious, the mashed potatoes so tasty and the Yorkshire pudding or popovers or whatever you want to call them...damn...I put my knife in and the gravy came pouring out...it was a work of art. lol. Tonight though, my wife ordered the spaghetti as she was craving it. The meat sauce was so flavourful. We wonder how they are able to put together such great variety of dishes and keep nailing it like they do. The key thing here is that the dishes are original and taste fresh and different...they are true chefs here. Oh and by the way their prices are very reasonable. I will never eat here again. I ordered the spinach salad. It sounded so good - spinach, cranberries, tomato, feta, cucumber, red onion, almonds and raspberry vinaigrette. Well let me tell you, this was the worst salad I have ever had. It was the smallest plate of wilted spinach, barely any toppings on it and just a hint of dressing. The tomatoes were the worst; they were covered in a thick wax coating so they had definitely not been washed. There were a few specks of feta cheese thrown in and just awful old cucumbers too. I didn't even want to eat it. I will never forget the taste of that horrible waxy tomato!!!! Ewwww. We had quite an oddball waitress too. She was really "in your face" if you know what I mean. She brought our food and then stepped away from the table for half a second and before we had even taken our first bite, she came back to ask if everything was ok. Serious weirdo waitress!!! Weirdo as in ex-junkie maybe. My partner had some kind of spinach and artichoke dip. It was just some reheated goop and wasn't even hot. He didn't even finish it either. According to the drink menu, domestic beer is on special on Sunday. When my husband ordered an Alexander Keith's he was told that beer wasn't included, even though it was listed under domestic on the menu. When he questioned the waitress she replied "I don't care, order whatever you want." The service was quite slow (45 minutes), and the waitress got more friendly by kissing my child on the head-too weird. The food was just ok. I like the idea of the train theme, but it's quite echoey and humid inside so it's not exactly comfortable. read more
