Fatboy sandwich with chicken and potato salad.
    Jeffrey R.

Went back this week with a group for lunch, and they made me the Fatboy sandwich with chicken. A tad spicy, but DAM was it good. I've now tried all the sides, this time was the potato salad, excellent as well.

Quick, hot and fresh fare. Sweet southern young ladies serving and cooking. Cool, clean, industrial dining area. Love this little place and the cute little town it is in.

Was buying some hardwood in Concord and stopped here for lunch - a fortuitous choice! Had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. Delicious! The pork was plentiful and tender and juicy - melted in my mouth. The beans were great - not too sweet, and a good portion. Service prompt and courteous. Restaurant is new, located on the strip across from the Pike County courthouse. Classic BBQ in a classic setting! Would have posted a pic of the BBQ, but it was gone too fast! Will definitely be back here!

Great pork ribs and pork sandwich. I also have had their tots with pork. Love this place. Close to home and also go for take out. People are friendly. Cost is good. The place is clean and comfortable.

The food here is delicious and the service is friendly and prompt. Probably the best BBQ restaurant in Zebulon. There is new management, but the service doesn't seem to have suffered in any way from the transition, and the food is still as delicious as ever. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

There are some amazing bbq places in Georgia, and this place stands up with the best of them. No Ribs on Saturdays or Sundays until the evening because... They are on the smoker. This is the real deal. Zebulon is a charming tiny dot of a town that makes you want to walk around and then stay a while and read a good book. Fortunately there is a really warm used bookstore filled with southern hospitality called A Novel Experience in case you forgot yours. The pork was shred-it-with-a-plastic-fork tender without being mealy and the brisket was chopped fine with fantastic crispiness mixed throughout. Baked beans had lots of deep black pepper flavor without being overpowered with bacon which can be common. I loved them. The Brunswick stew was not my favorite but lowest on my priority list. Double bonus is that the bathrooms were very clean - always a good gauge of overall standards. Worth going way out of the way for, and let's face it, who wouldn't want to say they went to a town called Zebulon!

Tucked in the main square of Zebulon (pronounced Zeb-u-lin by the locals) is an award-winning BBQ joint serving chicken, brisket, pork, and ribs (although the ribs are only on Fridays and Saturdays). This is a a great spot for some variations on traditional southern BBQ. Three different kinds of sauces (sweet, hot, and vinegar), BBQ tater tots, and BBQ tacos are on the menu along with traditional plates and sandwiches, standard sides, and hand-dipped ice cream cones. You can dine in (although not for long, they stay busy and the seating isn't padded), eat at one of the few outdoor tables, or call it in ahead of time and take it home. The atmosphere is home town. It's an old building, and the décor is kitchy without being tacky. The awards are everywhere - don't forget to look at the fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels on the way to the bathroom!

The pulled pork and brisket we're both very good. The mac & cheese was very good also I did not care for the coleslaw it tasted sour I also didn't care for the Texas toast. We enjoyed the sauce it was the sweet sauce. The tables were sticky, the staff was just OK, don't think I'll be back.

It's a Country cooking kinda spot, nothing crazy in terms of flavors or offerings. Place is clean and tidy, servers were both very nice and each of the ladies that were in the back cooking, that came out were nice as well. Hamburger is an unseasoned little less than 1/4 pound patty that is flat top cooked. Bun was standard and they ask what toppings you want and add them for you. Onion rings are a commercial frozen food service product and are standard in flavor and unseasoned as well. Veggies were fresh and they didn't cheap her on the mayo. Country Fried steak as fried and crispy and commercial food service product as well. The brown gravy was nice and peppery which I enjoyed and seasoned properly. The fries were crispy but unseasoned, and since I don't like ketchup I was out of luck and ended up dipping them in my gravy. Texas toast was toasted nicely but the butter they used is unsalted so it was bland. The Cole slaw......was brought to the table at room temp and the room was like 74 degrees...that was a first for me. Most people want their Cole slaw chilled, even at picnics outside in the South in the dead of summer, I've eaten colder slaw. It's heavy on the Mayo which is the saving grace! I added pepper and salt and a splash of bottled lemon juice they brought with the iced tea and jazzed it up. Yeah...I said jazzed like some middle aged mom! Price point was completely reasonable and their bathroom was tidy. They did a steady walk-up and order at the window service while we were there. More people came and went from the window than the dining room. I'd probably come back and try their other items just to see, if I'm in the area and was out of new options to try. Nothing was a deal breaker in terms of repeating the experience...but nothing was all that great either.

Those are the best kind of grits. We ordered a breakfast sandwich. It's been a while since I had one. We shared that, and it brought back memories. We actually closed down the place. When I search reviews on a business before going, I don't just accept them at face value, but rather, read them and determine if the reviewers are just entitled brats. lol Now that being said: here we go... ha ha This place was the worst experience I can recall with a business in nearly 50 years of life. It was very cold outside, and looking at the online pics looked like it was open-air seating only. So I called them to ensure there was also indoor seating at this cool looking bar. It was 8pm. The man reassured us there were indoor seating options. He then asked "are ya'll coming tonight?" I replied that we were. He then said "how long?" I then asked what time they closed. He replied at 10pm. A little perplexed, I let him know we were on the way. Red flag #1. I told my husband I didn't want to feel rushed out the door if they were trying to close early and didn't really get the vibe they wanted our business. He suggested we just give them a try anyway. When we pulled up, we noticed maybe 3 cars in the parking lot of this very big property. Red flag #2. As we entered the hotel, the gentleman asked us if we called about the bar. We said yes and he directed us to the entrance doors. The entrance was essentially the exit... to the outdoors. HAHA It was approx 40 degrees outside. As my husband and I looked a little perplexed, a female approached where we were standing, never even looked at us or acknowledged us in ANY way and said to the gentleman, "WHAT DO THEY WANT?" He informed her we were there for the bar. We asked where the indoor seating was. Y'ALL... this man took us back in the hotel lobby and pointed at the lobby area. You want us to eat a late dinner and have drinks at this cool looking bar, but in actuality we sit where patrons eat their continental breakfast and are served by someone who has all but said "why are you here?" What?? So... my husband and I said no thank you and went to Cowboy Town which is a very short drive away. Please go there instead. Great food and drinks with a super cool small town vibe, live music, and barrel racing most weekends. Maybe when the weather is warm and the pool is open, The View would be a cool establishment. But it needs to be seasonal only and absolutely closed the remainder of the year. Bless it. I do believe the reviews you see are mostly BS. Please pay very close attention to the details of them.
