The food was dry, over cooked and flavorless. The five meat sampler was highly over priced for the portion size and poor quality. The staff was less than friendly acting like it was interrupting their day to serve the customer. The store bought hotlink and canned baked beans where the only thing with any type of flavor, the overcooked brisket slices was more liked pot roast then anything, the wings where so overcooked and dry I thought I was eating charcoal. The shredded pork too was dry and flavorless. This was a waste of time and money, as for truck parking you are required to make a $25 purchase or make a "donation" of $25, since they are not licensed as a paid parking lot they try to get around it by calling it a "donation" rather then a fee; you don't pay they will tow you and have a guard onsite 24 hours a day to enforce it. Stopped in last night for a pound of pulled pork 1/2 lb of brisket got pint of coleslaw. $40.66 for all. Very disappointed my pulled pork was shredded making it look like more. This was excellent BBQ and generous portions and what made the atmosphere distinctive is that this place is at the edge of a good sized filling station with a huge amount of truck parking adjacent. You park and walk up to the little building to order your food, and then take it to a collection of picnic tables underneath the shelter. I knew the food was going to be good when in the parking lot I saw at least a dozen 18 wheelers, And I was right. Stopped here with my parents on the way to Orlando from Atlanta. We LOVED it! Highly recommend for an authentic southern bbq pit stop. While on a trucking adventure ride along with my cousin, she told me that Turkey ribs exist which I'd never heard of. We had time and decided to eat and park overnight. The truck parking is free if you eat. We had turkey ribs, pork ribs and smoked chicken wing plates. The sides were coleslaw and potato salad. 1st the meats were good. The sauce is AMAZING!!! Coleslaw is minced not sliced and diced but it had a good flavor. Just way too fine! The Potato salad...throw it away! I checked the reviews before I wrote this one and we all agree Rudy, throw it away. The potato is under cooked, mine was reddish but some reviews say pink and others say orange. He serves his meats dry with the sauces on the side. To me it tastes like he just smokes all of his meats. I didn't taste any charcoal, but that's me. As for customer service, it's awful. My guy talked this place up for multiple days and that we would stop by on our way to FL but unfortunately it was NOT good. The positives: we chatted with the workers and they were friendly and gave good customer service. There is Free truck parking and a Nice outdoor eating area. The BBQ sauce was tasty both the mild and spicy. The negatives: the brisket sandwich was fatty and smelled like old, bad meat. The texture of the brisket was slimy. Amazing BBQ! Out of all the BBQ places I have tried in many states, by far none of them come close to Ole Rudy's Bar-B-Que. hands down! I had the Brisket Platter with two sides (slaw and baked beans) and it came with two pieces of Texas Toast. I ordered a sweet tea with my meal. This portion was enough for me and my husband to eat for dinner. I'd say close to 11 slices of brisket. Their brisket is so juicy and full of flavor not dry like some other places I have been to.
