This place is a diamond in the rough. We stopped during Peaches to Beaches had the pulled pork sandwich with the hot BBQ sauce it was beyond delicious. Frys were browned perfectly. Definitely will stop again when in the are.

Love the brunswick stew here, it's amazing! They have a ton of menu options like steak, hamburgers, ribs etc. Best bbq around Barensville!

The restaurant is very cute and truly has an "at home" feel. I was really looking forward to having the short rib. Unfortunately when we were seated our waitress told us they didn't have it that day. While ordering drinks my husband was ordering beer and he was told they didn't sell what he was asking for. Even though it was listed on the menu. He ended up ordering whatever the waitress suggested and we ordered the shrimp cocktail while we looked over the menu. The shrimp cocktail was very good. For dinner I ordered the filet with lobster and my husband the Pork shank. My filet came out overcooked but was promptly fixed. The lobster was amazing ! My husband wasn't a big fan of the pork. We did order a cheesecake for dessert that was also really good. Overall our experience was pleasant but food wise not what I'd expected from the other reviews. However the service was great. The owner is so nice and spent time socializing at each table. He even came to make sure my second set of fillets were good to go. Our waitress is also very nice. I can see us trying this place out again. Hopefully on a night they have short rib.

But of course we couldn't sit upstairs?! What's the point of a rooftop if you can't even use it 90% off the time. Then we chose our table as it was empty downstairs other than the waiters/waitresses significant others. Waiting 10 min to get water we already knew this was going to be a disaster. Little did I know the service would be worse than a disaster. We ordered drinks and food all at once with the knowledge that Indy the waitress was bound to give us no attention. Our drinks were at the bar waiting and waiting for us to just have a sip. The bartender on her phone speaking to her friend... I decided I'll grab my own drinks since they sat there no less than 15 minutes melting away. She still did not notice. Wild. Strike 2 Now we go back to our table to receive half our food that came out with the appetizers- not typically how it should be but I will give them a break since there was 3 other people at tables LOL. As the rest of our food came she did not check on us but instead would bring water and food to what I assume was her boyfriend since she was all over him at the bar. Not one person filled our waters. Every person working there was on their phone. On top of that the hostess asked the bartender "would you like to take this table (our table)" she loudly said NO. The manager we overheard I want to say his name is Malcolm was complaining about how he doesn't get paid enough and doesn't want to be there. Last but not least- my side salad was $10... it was the size of my fist. I am beyond disappointed in the service. Food was ok.

So it's always first come, first serve and everytime I've tried to come here, it's a 30 min wait. It took about 15 min for the bartender to offer us menus and give us waters/ask for a drink. The drinks were delicious though, I had the Paper Plane. The food was also surprisingly good. Even though there wasn't enough chicken on the chicken Alfredo dish, the sauce was delicious and tasted great. The burger and sweet potato fries were also good. I think if I came back; it would be for the drinks and potentially the pasta. I would be open to trying other things on the menu.

Both my lunch date and I came from out of town after seeing so many great reviews and hearing how good the food was supposed to be. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, but let's get to the food... I ordered the blackened chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, there was NO FLAVOR. I even tried adding the salt and pepper from the table, and it still did not help the taste at all. My lunch date ordered the salmon, mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts, and unfortunately, their food was just as disappointing. What really surprised me was that after we finished eating, we met several people from the area who talked about how good the food was. We had also seen plenty of positive reviews before making the trip, so maybe we just caught them on an off day. I was disappointed to find out afterward that they have a Sunday brunch menu with a lot more options, including dishes like catfish and shrimp. Even a table of older ladies sitting beside us mentioned wishing they served cornbread--or any type of bread. There were no rolls, biscuits, cornbread...nothing. Personally, I think offering some of those Sunday menu options every day would make the menu much better. I was disappointed after driving over two hours to try this restaurant, but I am willing to give it another chance. However, my next visit will definitely have to be on a Sunday so I can experience more of what the menu has to offer. Everyone's experience is different, and this just happened to be ours.

There's plenty of places nearby for a pre or post dinner drink or both (S/O Halfway Crooks and Redacted). My husband and I came at the beginning of August, and the prix fixe menu was Burmese cuisine. We both got the prix fixe menu + the drink pairing. I'm no expert on Burmese cuisine, but the menu was immaculate. It was one of those meals where both of us ranked our favorite courses, and the rankings were completely opposite of each other. That's when you know every dish was amazing!! Even the dessert which had a salty basil component to it was just spectacular. The only thing we didn't love was the last cocktail on the drink menu, which was supposed to be a White Russian with crab Rangoon flavors. It wasn't terrible but not great either. I ordered two racks of ribs a full chicken a pint of Cole slaw, baked Beans and Mac and cheese. The sides were horrible. The Cole slaw was put in a food processor and chopped so it was like a sauce and overly sweet. The baked beens were mah and the Mac and cheese was over cooked and inedible! After waiting 45 min for my food I asked how much longer. I was told that they were out of chicken and they had to make more. I asked how much longer would it take and the woman responds with I don't know with a blank stare. I asked if she could find out. She came back with they are in the oven and there was no way to know. I sat down for another 20 min and finally was given my order. I went home opened the boxes and to my surprise the chicken was old! Not fresh and recently cooked. What they did was when I complained the cook gave me old chicken that was so dry and overcooked that I could not eat it. The ribs had to be also day old as they were dry and just bad. Short version $80 dollars worth of BBQ that went in the trash. I suspect that this at one time was great BBQ when the father ran it. Now it is run by the son and they don't care about quality food!
