Absolutely wonderful. A little off the beaten path if you're not from the area, but clearly a frequent visit for locals. The wings were in the top five we've ever had!! They smoke them first and then flash fry. So delicious. The Philly cheesesteak was okay, but cannot say enough about the wings. We ordered them with their Smokerise sauce and ended up ordering a pint of the sauce to go. I will say, this sauce is not for the faint of heart; if you don't like spicy, then don't. We came back here for a second visit and it was just as good as the first. I customized my blackened redfish sandwich this time. I swapped the comeback sauce for the remoulade. It was really good. I had the chips instead of the rice. I like the flavor of the rice better. Service again was great. This place was more crowded than before. Again the fried corn is awesome. They had a meat and three special today, meatloaf with mashed potatoes and "sauteed" corn. Looked pretty good. Try this place. read more

Never disappoint in the food quality and quantity.. been regulars 3 years.. best hamburgers around. Boneless chicken wings 75 cents on Tuesday is an all time favorite. Sides are wonderful, difficult to chose but fried brussel spouts, bay chips and loaded French fries are our favorite. read more

DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS PLACE. Oh my gosh. Up from Florida, driving off the main roads, husband nearing "hangry". I see this place on the phone listing and since we try not to eat at chains, they were chosen. The fried corn on the cob is phenomenal. I will certainly be trying to duplicate it at home. My husband's pimento burger and my beef and cheese sandwich might rival the corn. BEST meal we've had in Alabama so far and I'm not sure it's going to get beat before we leave. Oh and our server was the friendliest ever! I bet this place gets packed and I hope they never change :) My choice to pick this place will be long gloated over lol. read more

I was a little underwhelmed by the food. The pimento cheeseburger was lacking pimento cheese in my opinion. I think there may have been a spoonful, but as the pimento cheese burger I wish it had a little more. Even in the photo, it's not really the star of the show. My friends got the chicken fingers and it was a large portion probably enough for two people. Service was good! It's a nice little bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Wish I could give zero stars. We waited over an hour to get our food--not entirely unexpected given how busy it was, so I won't hold that part against them. But spending $50 on wings for two people and only being able to stomach seven says everything. The ranch dressing was so watery it might as well have been flavored water, and the wings tasted like they'd been microwaved the day before. To make matters worse, one of the wings had a hair cooked into it. I'm literally writing this while sitting in the McDonald's drive-thru just to get something edible. I had wanted to come here ever since I saw the old Dowdle Gas Caompany changed into a pub. There are not many sit down restaurants or bars in this part of town, so I'm glad there finally is one. It's a nice change from the fast food places on this street. My dad and I came here to eat lunch the other week. Our server was so patient, caring, and attentive to our needs. We shared a ribeye steak, brussel sprouts, and onion rings. The brussel sprouts were my favorite! They were roasted to perfection. My fiance paid $65 for chicken that was so cheap it felt like eating chewy rubber, the blend of spices was good but you can tell the chicken has been pumped with steroids with how big they were. We have been there several times and the service is always great. Yesterday, we had a Club sandwich with Pub Chips and Reuben with seared Brussel Sprouts. Both sandwiches were great , as ordered. The Brussel Sprouts, while slightly dry, tasted great. The Pub Chips could have been salted a bit more, but I suppose that is for personal preference. No salt on the table so I ate as is. No problem.
