Food was good! Everything battered and fried seemed very fresh and good! We got small burgers which were tiny but good. The burger patties kinda looked and tasted like the kind from a lunchroom cafeteria. My dad was not a big fan saying that his egg wasn't fried it was microwaved etc... But the rest of my family enjoyed it. The fried mushrooms were amazing. We got a brownie with ice cream... it was pretty good feed two people and was $7 but it was very chocolate tasting and kind of seemed fake as well. However our service was amazing. Our waiter was great and kept our drinks filled consistently! The place looked pretty clean and was nicely decorated to fit the theme. A restaurant is only as good as it's service and its food. Well, this place hit the mark both times. My wife and I were there at about 5:30 on a Thursday. Seated right away, no wait. Our server (Emma) who was awesome by the way got to us almost immediately. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sliders with fries and 6 boneless wings (BBQ sauce) My wife got the Buffalo Chicken sliders with fries. Food came out in a reasonable time, and everything was piping hot. Sliders were good with a lot of meat on them. Fries have a "boomerang" shape for some reason but were really good. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Boneless wings were also good. Overall, no complaints. There were other items on the menu my wife and I would like to try so we will definitely be back. Once again, Emma was a Rock Star!!! read more

Myself and my family stopped here while in town for my granddaughters daycare program. I had a burger and everyone else had wings. Service was unfortunately subpar at best. The food took forever to arrive after ordering and my burger was almost room temperature when it arrived. The fries were good though. We won't be back. read more

Great new spot for a date night -- The atmosphere was nice but not "uncomfortably fancy". Plenty of football on the screens to keep everyone entertained. The music was just right. Service was kind and prompt. Food was better than expected, we were thinking just "average sports grill" but I felt that it was truly a step above. The only comment/recommendation I would make would be that the onion straws could use a little more flavor, they were slightly bland. (definitely still edible!) everything else was spot on! We came to lunch here Friday afternoon after visiting Cullman to see the Christmas pyramid - my mom grew up having one at her family dinner table during the holidays. Looking for a place to eat after viewing the statue, we settled on Augusta's as it was open and had high reviews. I thought we were going to have to wait as there was a party waiting for a table outside, but we were seated immediately. They took extra care to make sure the table was clean and ready for us. We needed to get in and out fairly quickly so we placed our order at the same time as our drinks. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is fairly typical sports bar. Warm lights and dark wood, big TVs, lots of high top tables. The sweet tea I ordered was right on the nose. My parents split a Philly steak type of sandwich with fries, while I kept it boring and got chicken tenders with two sides. I tried the fries and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was the weakest link - pretty obviously just the boxed stuff. However, the tenders were obviously hand breaded and very large. The meat was juicy and the breading was crunchy, and our waitress provided me some good ranch for dipping. We all really enjoyed the fries -- they're thick cut, almost like sidewinders, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and potatoey on the inside. Parents greatly enjoyed their Philly sandwich and said it was the perfect amount of food to share. Augusta's got the job done and did it well on our pass through town. When I got in almost left as the floors were dingy and the woodwork was dingy and stained. Nasty looking but the food used to be good so I stayed. I ordered a cheeseburger. When it came out it came with a mustard jar and a container of mayo soI had to put my condiments on it which I got through. What I did not get through was the taste and texture. The texture was best described as a potted meat texture. The taste was odd with no meat flavor to it. Usually you have a distinct charred/cooked meat flavor on a burger but there was none. I ate a couple of bites and just asked the waitress to bring me my bill. As I waited for her to return I noticed the ketchup bottle was very dingy. I knew it had a off taste and the cap would not tighten down. I looked under the cap and there was a critter living there. I asked for the manager to show him. When he got there I showed him the cap and critter and his response? There is nothing wrong because we clean them every night. I then commented that the food has gone downhill and I hate it because I used to love to eat there. He responded then don't come back as we don't like people looking for free stuff??? While the chain restaurants are spilling into Cullman I'm glad to see that Augustas is flourishing. We ate here a couple of years ago when they first opened and unfortunately the only thing I can remember is that my husband did not like their boneless buffalo wings. We decided to give it another go and it turned out to be a good decision. We ordered the loaded fries as an appetizer. The "fries" are somewhere between potato wedges and potato twists. Unique! Plenty of soft potato meat with a crispy, seasoned outside. They seriously load up the cheese and bacon and serve with a side of the most delicious homemade ranch you'll get in Cullman. What would you like to drink? Ranch please. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sliders with potato skins as his side. He definitely turned his review around and enjoyed his dish. Funny, because isn't it basically boneless buffalo wings on a bun....ehhh after 8 years of marriage I've just learned to look past his discrepancies. I ordered the shrimp scampi with a side salad (with RANCH) and a loaded baked potato. I loved the way they serve their scampi. Rather than fishing out the shrimp from a bowl of melted butter they serve you grilled skewers of shrimp with a side of whipped garlic butter. So much easier to eat and they garlic butter sticks to shrimp for a wallop of flavor. And if you love cheese and bacon then Augusta will be your BFF. So much cheese and bacon on the salad and on the potato that I was scooping it out to save myself from turning into a dairy pig. Overall this was a great dinner. More food than the two of us could eat. Prices and servings are on par with other establishments (except you get way more cheese and bacon). We were here on a Saturday night and there was a line for seating. The dining area isn't huge and the parking lot can be a bear (especially for larger vehicles) so I'd recommend trying to avoid peak hours. read more

From the hostess to the drinks from the bar to the steaks that were done perfectly, and the desert, I was not disappointed in the least. Our server destiny was great and the manager was very kind. Okay, if you read reviews, pretty much they all say the same thing about this place. We arrived in Cullman to spend the night, and I started looking for a place for us (my wife) and I to have a beer and chill. The reviews below mine were all the same, "you have to give Augusta's a try!" We got to the restaurant around 3:00 pm, and were told to sit wherever we wanted. Summer our waitress promptly came and took our drink orders. We ordered the Spinach and artichoke dip, and told her we just wanted to sit and have a couple drinks before ordering our meal. I did a flight of the "Goat Island," beers a try and was not disappointed! I was not a huge fan of the Blood Orange, a little to much citrus for my taste, but recommend giving the local brewery a try! We noticed that a lot of locals were coming in and having dinner and drinks, to me that speaks volumes about a business. It was pretty crowded when we arrived also. My wife ordered the loaded potatoe soup and enjoyed the soup! I ordered the "Dry Rub," wings and they were spot on delicious! To all of the staff, keep on doing what you are doing! read more

This place has more television sets than seats. I think it's pretty close on the count. It's a neat pub atmosphere, for sure. At the recommendation of some locals, I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. Very delicious, especially when dipped in au jus. The fries are interesting -- spiral cut, but the spirals are more like sea shells than little string spirals. Fries also quite delicious. I'd give this place 5 stars, but the service was exceptionally slow. We waited 45 minutes to get our lunch order, so that made us late getting back to the office. read more
