There were issues with sound mikes. A mike was needed for soloist at keyboard and clergy at podium, but only one mike was available which meant the soloist was trapsing across the space crossiny in front of tge casket to deliver the mike to the podium. Then the batteries died before the eulogy began. So there was no sound amplification during the service. This is vital when the majority of attendees are elderlyand have hearing loss.

My son died unexpectedly in 2005. In my grief I wanted him in the same mausoleum as my daddy. All…read morethey had was a spot up top. I was told that there would always be a ladder with wheels available for me to use. I have used that ladder more times than can count. There's a platform at the top to stand on. I go and hang wreaths and his pictures, I wipe it off and just take care of it. I sit on the platform and talk to him, touch his marble. I'm his mother and that's all I have left to do for him. I went today to hang a new wreath and new picture, the other one has turned yellow. I couldn't find the ladder so I went to the office to get one put back at his mausoleum. I have had to do this before. Well today I was told the ladder is no longer available and no I can't bring my own. I now have to make an appointment for maintenance to put his wreath up and picture. Are I can use the provided pole. I no longer have access to my son's grave, I can't touch it ever again. That is just so wrong and cruel on so many levels!!!

We we're treated so poorly and cold-hearted, it added a thick ominous cloud over the entire day b/c her. My family did not deserve this at all! Go to a funeral home that will be more compassionate and understanding to your family's grief b/c you will not get it here! She was unprofessional and money hungry!

They lied when my brother (Rufus West) passed and said that he had a daughter name Amber. They lied about the children on the obituary and added our names to it when we ask that our names not be put on the paper. They did it anyway to make it look like we approved of the lies. The funeral director is relative to Wanda, that is what Wanda said. They have gotten away with a lie. When I called the funeral home they act as if they know nothing about it. Amber doesn't know me and neither do her siblings. I never saw them until I went to get my brother so how do they know me or about me. I never saw them before in my life and my brother never, Never bought them over to meet us. If they cared so much about MR. Rufus, they would have done more to help him. His words to me was no a one brought him a plate of food when he was sick to even leave it on the porch and now he is my daddy. What exactly are they up too. I needed to set the record straight and my family will no longer do business with Owen Thomas funeral home and this funeral home knows they were in it as well, even when the director was telling me her hands were clean and she was going to leave it alone.
