The staff was great inside. There is an outdoor bar on the multi level deck and multiple picnic tables on the lawn. There is also a decent looking volleyball court. They will be hosting bands throughout the summer season. Pacific Coast Highway was on stage while we were there. This may be a popular biker hangout, we weren't sure if it is or if the band drew the large biker crowd. However, everyone appeared to be having a good time and no one seemed out of control. I had a hard time trying to get either bartenders attention outside so I ended up going inside for a beer. This was probably my biggest disappointment of the afternoon. The appetizer we ordered was good and filling. They don't skimp on the toppings!

We had chicken, deep, fried fish, and steak bites. Absolutely amazing and I am very hard to please when it comes to my fish. The German potato salad will knock your socks off.

My husband and I have been dying to try this place. We always drive past on our trips to/from Minnesota and it seems like such a fun countryside bar. We were excited to finally stop on Friday as we headed to Madison. I figured this would be the perfect place for a fish fry and old fashioned. We were not greeted when we sat down as the bartender was busy talking down the bar. I think this is par for the course with bars frequented by locals, so jo big deal. I ordered my drink and got a nod rather than a smile or response. The old fashioned was nothing special but they do muddle fruit on the bottom, which is always nice. It tasted weak, like a cinnamon sour with orange. My husband got a beer from a selection. The place was smaller than I expected and I'm wondering if there is another area? The building looks big and when we'd pass in the summer, the lot was always full. They have a nice bar area and dining room. We ordered a three piece fish fry to split because we had stopped elsewhere for an appetizer. After thirty minutes we became frustrated and asked if the meal was on its way. We were informed it would be another ten minutes. The place did not seem busy enough for a forty minute wait on fish and potato pancakes. We got the feeling our order wasn't entered. We asked that it be canceled because we were worried about being late for our show. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to try the fish and potato pancakes. Hopefully I can convince my husband to try them again next time we're in the area!

I was craving pizza tonight. Our favorite 2 places are currently closed down and the other few places we tried had a very long wait time. After a suggestion from a friend we decided to try out The Old Rock. Called at 6 and was told to pick up at 645. That wait time we could handle! And it was ready on time which is a plus! I usually prefer my pizza to have a thick crust but this still hit the spot. It was a little weird to have fries on a pizza but it tasted so good. The cheese curds were really good too. Definitely pleased with our meal!

12 pieces! Almost a whole pickle LMAO

Really nice place, but don't waste your money on the food! $9 for pickle chips and they literally count out 12 pieces, which is almost a whole pickle. The pretzel is about a 1/4 the size of other places for $13. Rip off!

The bar is nice and clean. This place is not much of a restaurant but a pub. Cute country pub that serves burgers.

Great food if you don't mind waiting for-fucking-ever for it. They don't tend to the people in the back of the restaurant.

I…read moresaw this in town in the morning before it opened and looked at the menu and thought $7.45 for a cheeseburger is high compared to Milwaukee's custard stands and I could probably get a bar burger down the street for that money. This is an old school drive in with the young high school girls taking your order from your vehicle and they bring it back to you. I was not expecting much when I ordered the cheeseburger from a drive in because the reviews don't really tell anything about the burgers. OMG before I even opened up the burger wrapper my first thought was dam that smells like fresh beef. My second thought was dam that's not bad looking and it's a half pounder so I opened it up. My third thought was that looks like a course ground hand formed patty, fresh beef and no frozen hockey pucks here. I kept it simple with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and ketchup. My first bite was like that's not dry at all and the beef has a nice beef flavor. The bun was a perfect bun because it was a softer style and not the dry dense kind but hearty enough not to fall fall apart from all that beef. I didn't even bother asking for rare with the young cooks but it was cooked about medium with some pink left in the middle. The toppings were fresh but the onions were super thin sliced and soft, I would have asked for extra had I have known. I'm impressed that a small drive in takes the burgers seriously and uses top quality ingredients. I definitely would recommend getting a burger here and I'm going to post some good pictures to show my great experience.

Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.

And let me just say, if you like a good burger this (may be) the place for you. It's located on Main Street in West Bend. This area has gone through a real renaissance. The fixed up the street and sidewalks, have angled parking, and the lighting a nice. It's a real treat to be able to walk in this area of small shops and businesses. No stripmalls or big box stores. Very nice city planning! Came with a couple of friends, around 11:30. The Brazen Head Pub is one of many bars and restaurants in this area. This pub is pretty typical layout. It's long and narrow, a little dark (lighting and wood), has a long bar, and then a few high top tables. There is one larger table towards the rear that holds 6 people. Since there were 3 of us, we grabbed a high-top and stole a chair from the next table. (we had 4 people, not sure what we would have done). There was only one person (John) running all the table and managing the bar, and a couple of people in the small kitchen. John (our server) got to us after a short wait. Got our drinks and order placed right away. We ordered some Cheese Nuggets (white cheddar curds) and 3 different burgers. You can either "build your own" or order the standard "Brazen Head Beer Cheese Burger". The curds came out almost instantly. They were hot, with a side of ranch. They were good (not great, a little too much breading for my tastes). We waited a bit for the biggers, but they ended up being worth the wait. All were made perfectly to order, hot, lots of flavor, and very good portions. The Brazen Head Burger was tall, but manageable. The different elements were distinct and complementary. The cheese sauce had a big of a tang. The fries were okay, but could have been hotter. While we were there, the place filled up. Lots of other small groups, some at the long bar. With the additional people it got to be pretty noisy, to the point that it was hard to have a conversation. It didn't help that there was a speaker, right over the tables, with loud music. With only one person running all the tables, after our food came out, it was difficult to get our servers attention. Extra napkins and getting our check was a challenge. The experience was mixed. Definitely a place to get an amazing burger, cooked perfectly to order. However, the noise and the service (due to their popularity) was a bit lacking. I wish them luck as they adjust to their new popularity.
