Beginning bread and ice tea and summer lemonade
    Jennyfer A.

The first time I went there it was with my friend Cod and the bread and buttery spread was delicious. So delicious I could not stop eating it and I wanted more. The calamari was pretty satisfying too. Not too crunchy. The second time I went with my friend that loves 1980s music and he ordered a lasagna and it showed up on a moon dish and it was watery and mushy and I am not sure he liked it. He said the chicken Parmesan was good last time though. The bread served at the beginning was fresh but not as pleasant, same feeling for the buttery spread. My spinach dip was enjoyable though but the bread squares with Parmesan salt was too salty and it made my brain fast. The mozzarella cheese triangles were perfect though. There's nothing wrong with real cheese and that's nice to see. Service was polite but a bit serious.

    we always enjoy the bread!

The tortellini was absolutely delicious and arrived warm and fresh. All of our meals were perfectly prepared and still hot when they got to our door. My son really enjoyed his chicken strips and spaghetti, and my husband loved the chicken parmesan! We were all impressed with the quality. I would definitely recommend this place!

    Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo

Honestly love the food at this place but it just gets so busy every time I visit! Decided to go again to eat with some friends after the Pride Parade Walk, we expected it to be busy so we didn't mind waiting for a while if we had to. We were seated in a more private area along with other groups, it was a brighter are compared to the inner dinning area so I quite liked it! I ordered a Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo, Crispy Salad with Blue Cheese, and Spumoni icecream (salad and icecream came with the pasta). It was absolutely delicious and for the price I paid, I think it was a great deal. There were large groups during the time we came as well, so our server and most likely the kitchen were quite packed with orders and requests. Nonetheless, our server was quite apologetic, courteous, and tended to us as much as he could.

The pasta was fresh and tasted homemade! The manicotti was stuffed with a flavorful cheese filling and the Alfredo was super creamy! The complimentary sourdough bread came with a delicious garlic butter that was perfect for spreading on there. I would go again to try more of their pasta options on the menu. The ice cream that is included in the meal was okay, but it also didn't help that I was stuffed from the pasta beforehand.

Linguini and clam sauce and chicken parm.

I ordered the Linguni and clam sauce. VERY VERY PEPPERY...it made the dish spicy (and I don't mind spice) which it should not be. The sauce seems oily which may be a bit too much butter but doesn't taste like butter and very few clams. Not sure if its a Canadian thing but I am from the US so maybe that's just how they prepare it here. Service was fine and we went on an off time so things came out fairly quickly.

3.5/5, +.5 for service I didn't have high expectations of this place as I've heard mixed reviews, but my friends and I wanted a quiet sit down restaurant where we can hold a meeting. We chose the Spaghetti Factory as the food is reasonably priced, the location is central, and you can't really go wrong with pasta. I had the tortellini pomodoro with a clam chowder soup. The soup was okay, about what I expected for chain restaurants like this. The tortellini pomodoro was actually very good for the price I paid. The tortellini pieces were quite big and there was a lot of cheese inside. My other friends also enjoyed their meals and said they will certainly return. Service was excellent as well, the server even allowed us to stay a bit longer than what we anticipated as my table had a late arrival. Considering the polarizing reviews the Spaghetti Factory gets, I definitely think it's a great place for good value pasta.

I had supper tonight at the Old Spaghetti Factory. which is near my hotel. I got there at 8:40pm. Though they close at 9pm, the host still welcomed me and told me to stay as long as I wanted. Cory was my server and he started me with some hot bread. I ordered lasagna. So many things come with it ... bread, soup or salad (which I passed on), lasagna and ice cream. The lasagna was good! The sauce was chunky with onions and celery. I wasn't hungry but had a couple spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream. Cory was friendly and took good care of me. Though I didn't leave until 10pm, I never felt rushed.

Our second loaf of bread as we already finished the first!

I love this restaurant! We go many times a year and always get great service! The food is excellent with many different types of pasta to pick from, as well as drinks and appetizers. All meals start with a loaf of fresh bread and a starter salad (the ranch dressing is the best, and I always get it on the side so they don't put too much dressing on!) My chicken parmigiana as delicious and it's one of my favorite dishes here! Also, the spumoni is amazing!

Our server, Zane, was terrific. He had a great sense of humor, was attentive without hovering, and made us feel well taken care of throughout lunch. Everyone at the table loved their meal. My sister ordered the Arancini as her entrée and polished off every bite. I kept things light with the Caesar salad topped with grilled chicken but substituted an oil-and-vinegar dressing instead of the traditional Caesar. The chicken was perfectly grilled, the salad was fresh, and the portion was generous. My husband ordered the pasta, and the kitchen was happy to substitute a spicy tomato sauce for the rosé sauce, which we really appreciated. My brother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the Piri Piri Chicken. We also discovered a fantastic Canadian Riesling from Tawse Winery in the Niagara region. The only disappointment was the limited by-the-glass wine selection, so we ended up ordering a bottle instead. Not a huge issue, but it would be nice to have a few more options by the glass. A couple of tips for first-time visitors: parking is paid street parking, and the restaurant can be a little tricky to find. Look for the colorful striped exterior of the Mere Hotel--the restaurant is tucked behind it along the river. Overall, we had a terrific experience. Great food, excellent service, a beautiful waterfront setting, and a relaxed atmosphere made this one of our favorite lunches in Winnipeg. We'd definitely come back.

This section is elevated above the main floor and has wonderful golden leather chairs where I could have lingered for hours. The menu is broad with Italian, Spanish, and even African dishes so it's not hard to find something tempting. To start we shared some bruschetta-there are six varieties and you can choose 3. We LOVED the pear/prosciutto as well as the Brie/apple varieties but the standard tomato variety was also great. At 6 pieces to an order you need 4 people (like us) unless you're only having a salad (like my wife) as your main. We also tried the Piri Piri chicken-very flavorful, the paella-yummy, and the chicken and chorizo pasta. They serve cocktails and the margarita and the whiskey sour were both standouts for their quality even if they were a touch lite on booze. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Loved the vibe, location and service. Recommended.

Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.
