We just recently visited The Olde World Bakery for some dinner and had a nice meal! I'd been here many years ago and remembered how tasty and piping hot the brick oven pizza was, so I was quick to give the white pizza a go this time around. We all enjoyed it! Further, the eggplant parm and the ravioli were also solid staples to try! It's a tad crowded inside, but besides that, the food was great, and I'll have to go back and try out some of the bakery items, because we were all eyeing them up . Definitely recommend! read more

My family and I have ordered from Olde Worlde Bakery for years. On 3/31, I called to place an order for a birthday cake for Saturday 4/4 and was told by the acting manager that no more orders were being accepted due to the Easter holiday. She stated the deadline was Sunday and that signs had been posted. I explained that I live out of town and saw no information on the website about ordering restrictions. Very disappointing and gross experience on our third attempt. First was okay. The second time there was hair in the food. Now the third time... My mom (who loves bakeries) was visiting so we tried again. We were told 15 minutes for an outside table. After waiting 30 minutes, we got pastries to tide us over. Found ANOTHER hair baked into it. We had already waited so long, so we stayed. A group of older people came in after us and helped themselves to one of the tables outside that hadn't even been cleaned yet, even after being told there was a wait. Nobody stopped them, instead endorsed this and helped them before we were sat. I believe a second table was sat as well but we didn't complain. After an entire hour we were seated with menus. Another 15 minutes pass and we weren't greeted or given water. I don't see my mom often since moving far, and she came to cheer up after having to put down our pet today. We spent that valuable hour+ watching others be helped, getting a pastry to cheer her up, only to bite into hair, and then be ignored for another 45 minutes. The lack of organization was insane, and getting hair in our food 2/3 times is notable. Servers would be much less stressed if there were designated lines for seating/to-go. These are management issues that deeply affect the quality of your business, yet could easily be fixed. Your staff shouldn't have to be cutting through crowds of people to do their jobs. It cuts into your efficiency, your customer satisfaction, and in turn, your money. We silently left and went to the diner, who had us seated with waters on the table in four minutes. read more

I keep trying to support this place. We ate in, much better food experience. Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly, it needs more seasonings. Meals were good, came out hot and pasta cooked al dente. Salad was huge and very good. Small bread basket. Service as slow and took forever just to get salads. Could use 1more waitperson. Ambiance, as expected, in the middle of a working bakery, so expect loud. Also sitting/eating next to line for bakery. Big improvement from takeout. Will try that next time. read more

Love this local spot. Great breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold sandwiches, and fresh bread. We grab random baked goods from time to time as well. The only downfall is that they have a limited donut and bagel selection, so unless you get there early, it is sometimes slim pickings. Their brunch is great. You can eat inside, outside, or take food to go. Have not tried the pizza, but I've heard great things. They also have frozen meals, soups, and sauces to go. Can buy day old bread if you are planning to use a lot quickly is always a nice option. They sell cold cuts, cheese, drinks, jarred sauce, and other things as well. It really a great spot with a lot of options. As i type this, I'm getting ready to order a steak, egg, and cheese sandwich... just need to decide if I want a long or round roll. Okay I love this place so much. The pizza is amazing, always fired to perfection with loads of fresh toppings. The pastries are decadent! The Oreo bomb is my absolute favorite. This place is a hidden gem that is completely underrated. I've been coming here since they opened! I have no clue why it's taken me so long to leave a review. I hope it helps you decide to eat here! Although the food was very good, the new server was excellent. But sadly the resturant is way too hot and has a INFESTATION OF ROACHES! Me and my partner were dining here today and while eating our meal were shocked to see a giant adult brown cockroach scurry across the tile floor during the day time. On the way out I let staff at the register know but she kind of brushed it off like she didn't know when I could tell it was an act and she clearly knew there was an issue. We spent almost $70 here, but got disgusted after seeing the bug and left promptly before ordering dessert. Kind of unforurnate seeing a roach during the broad daylight, while walking to our car I peeked behind one of the fridges by the front door to see a roach trap full of them. Don't come here if you have allergies as cockroaches can spread many diseases... read more

I decided to swing by and grab a couple things to sample as we have a lot of sweet lovers in our family. The entry way inside this establishment really needs to be cleaned up. It's FILTHY. I did not see this until after I paid and was leaving but it really needs some attention. There's a really cool oven inside. They have daily options. Bread, cupcakes, pumpkin rolls, cookies etc. I grabbed a bag of dinner rolls, a vanilla cupcake, brownie, cannoli, cream puffs and apple turnover. Cupcake was really dry, almost reminded me of corn bread. Really bad icing, whipped kind from supermarkets is the best way to describe it. We did enjoy the dinner rolls. Staff was friendly. Trying to support small businesses during the pandemic can be a challenge. We spotted this place on a drive-by and popped in. We knew we were doing French toast the next day, so when we spotted the day old bread 2 for 1 options, we took advantage of that as well as a bunch of pastries. I tried a cheese danish, but was disappointed that it was mostly danish and not a whole lot of cheese. Prices were decent and the staff were friendly. read more

The bread was delicious and fresh. It came out right when I got there so I got a sourdough loaf. It was very well priced at $4 for a huge loaf. It's about the same price as panera bread but more fresh. The sfogliatella was really good as well. It tasted like the kind you would get in italy with the thick cream and candied fruit inside. I'm not a big fan of the candied fruit but that's just a preference. It was still crispy and fresh. I was not a fan of most of the other pastries I got. Most of them tasted hard like they were made the day before and sat in the case. The cupcake cake portion was completely hard and crispy on top (which isn't usual for a cupcake). The icing was really good. The eclair I got was also very hard on the outside. I thought the cookies had a weird consistency (either too hard or kind of sticky on the outside), although I did like the butter cookies. I will be back to buy more bread. The breads are the real winners here. Crusty on the outside and soft and spongey on the inside. Keep making good bread! It's much better than any supermarket bread. read more

I use to go to the Olde World Bakery for my birthday cakes and then the kids got older. We recently went back and I remember why we love this place!! Their brick oven French baguettes are incredible. Now we go back at least once a week to get freshly baked baguettes in the morning and a cup of their special brewed coffee. I do enjoy the ambience of the setting area as well. We plan to try their brick oven pizza next and their Naples pasta dinners! read more

Time flies! This place has been here for over 15 years, I am only making my second visit ever here. This place is a landmark. It has its own style, it seems to never get dated, its just the way I remember it when I first ate here. You can order pizza (only 14" size). Hot or cold sandwiches. You can get salads as your main dish or as a side. The pizza is baked in their brick oven. They also make pasta dishes too. (Baked lasagne. Alfredo dishes, to name a few.) I ordered the meatball parmesean hoagie and fries. Surprisingly, the meatball parm was only so-so, not very flavorful. That was the reason for the 3 star rating. There are also baked goods to select from. The earlier you arrive in the day, the more you have to choose from. The selection of cookies and pastries gets smaller as the day goes on. Im not sure about how often fresh items are baked throughout the day. The menu here is pretty extensive. I would suggest checking it online or grabbing one when you come in. Its easy to overlook what they offer, otherwise, you could come in and not realize how many options are on the list. You can dine in or take out. They also cater! read more

The Olde Worlde Bakerye & Café has 30 foot ceilings and suggests an old villa in Tuscany, with faux stone and large bread racks showing their attractive wares. It does seem a little out of place sitting on Smithville Road in Eastampton, NJ, but that does not detract from its pleasant scale. Outdoor patio seating for nice days is a definite upgrade from the ordinary java joint. I stopped in around 10 am for a light breakfast and coffee. The large menu is suspended from the ceiling behind the cashiers. Only brekkie sandwiches are available during the week, although a full brunch operation happens on weekends. No sweat. I wasn't looking or a big and hearty meal. The unmistakable aroma of baked bread permeated the room, although they were not baking anything when I was there. The racks behind the counter were loaded to make a bread lover swoon. All shapes and sizes demonstrated the artistry of the baker. Impressive. My Sausage, Egg & Cheese on a Roll was okay, but not more. Their bread was fresh, but lacked the texture and yeastiness I expected from a homemade offering. The sausage patty was about the thinnest I have encountered, but still tasty. The fried eggs and cheese were ample, and clearly cooked/melted on the grill. At under $6 for the whole shebang I was ultimately satisfied with the value, if not the exuberance of the sandwich. Maybe their brunches have more of a "Wow!" factor. read more

reposting my review from 2018. I noticed its under "reviews not recommended" Why? there are other reviews mentioning charged price not matching posted price. Pay attention to what your are charged. Ordered a hoagie. Price posted as 7.00. When they rang it up, the amount was 8.55. I said "I thought it was 7.00. The cashier said " our prices have gone up to 7.99 and it also includes tax. When I said the posted price is 7.00, she again stated the prices have gone up. I reiterated that the posted price is 7.00, they finally charged me the lower price. If the prices have gone up, why isn't the price board changed? I think it's agsinst the law to charge more than the posted price. The least they could do is make the customer aware of the new price when they order.  The customer may not have brought enough money to pay the higher price. read more

I must be a masochist because I didn't learn my lesson. Ordered a pumpkin cheesecake for my daughter's birthday. Went to pick it up at the agreed time and the inscription wasn't done. The excuse was "in case you didn't come to pick it up" although I called them 40 minutes prior and told them I'd be there within the hour. They finally put the inscription on in PINK. It was autumn and I ordered a brown or orange to match the cake. Fine, they redid it. This time they misspelled her name. Again they redid it..with an ATTITUDE. So now I served it to guests. It was heavy and extremely dense. But did I learn my lesson? No not I. I gave Olde World another chance because my neighbors said they were very good a few years back. The following year the exact same thing happened. Now for my birthday. My daughter picked out a Black Forrest cake from their catalog. We went to pick it up and it was light chocolate icing with a buttercrean and light chocolate mousse filling. When I asked why it looked nothing like the cake in the catalog they nastily said that that's what their Black Forrest cakes look like. Does that tell you something like "duh we made the wrong cake"?. The cakes are made next door not on premises. Not one cherry near that cake. No apology either. It was obviously wrong but their ATTUTUDE sucked big time when I showed them the picture in the catalog we ordered from with the DESCRIPTION of the aforementioned cake. ...and no inscription again. And the cake turned out to be bland, not the rich dark chocolate cherry filled confection which we expected. So a few months later a bunch of friends wanted to have lunch there. I stupidly acquiesced. My friend ordered a BLT. She was told they had no bacon so she ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which came out cold. There was one piece of melted cheese, a slice of tomato, some chips and a quarter of a pickle for $8.00. By the way, that was the price with the bacon which they didn't have. When we questioned this the server she said she had to charge full price. All of the sandwiches were skimpy and overpriced. The cold sandwiches were warm and the hot sandwiches were cold including a very small burger that was half the size of Burger King. They must have been laying around until our server found the time to pick them up. The service was extremely slow and the server sullen. The server got several of our orders wrong and when we sent them back they came out wrong again. Server was surly and when we asked to see a manager, we were told he or she wasn't available. Mind you, we were only 5 people and the only ones in the place. There were 3 women who were at the register gabbing away and one of them did the serving. The attention span deserved a -0. I have no idea who was in the kitchen and seeing as how our experience was an overall two hour nightmare I'm not sure I want to know. We really want to like these guys for take out, but when you can't get the basic tasks right, it really annoys me. I ordered two pizzas. I show up when I'm supposed to and pay. The lady says they will be right out. I see 2 pizza boxes sitting out but figured they were someone else's. 18 minutes go by so I check on the status with a different person who asks what type of pizza it was.... hey, look... those 2 boxes WERE mine.
