This is the 3rd store of this type I've visited and I have to say, all three of them are top notch, and this one - This One is just a short 25 minute drive from home (Creedmoor is at least 20 minutes from everywhere). The gal running the store (I presume an owner) is very personable, from Long Island (the accent is unmistakeable, and was confirmed during the conversation) and made sure I didn't make any mistakes in my purchases, for instance, letting me know the price of a bottle before she rang it up - just to be sure I knew what I was paying. We tried their Fig Balsamic and the White Truffle Olive Oil. The balsamic was SO GOOD! It has a thick consistency which I love for salads and dips. The fig flavor really shines through, highly recommend that you give that one a try if you are a fan of fig. The White Truffle Olive Oil is great for those who wanting to experiment with truffle in their dishes. The truffle flavor was light and not overwhelming which was nice. Two thumbs up! Cliff notes: Think outside the bottle! Go get the good stuff here! I first experienced an olive oil/vinegar place in Charlotte. Of course my first thought was, seriously, do we really need a whole store dedicated to this stuff? (I'm a bit of a skeptic at times). But after having gone through the experience of a store like this (and this one specifically) I have to say no, we do not NEED a store like this, but as a cook, from beginner to experienced, you WANT a store like this within shopping distance. So what will you find inside the doors of this store? And why is it so magical?! Well, when you enter the store you will find silver kegs filled with various flavor infused balsamic, white and dark, vinegars and olive oils. All of their vinegars are 25 year aged. That is fantastic! Why? well, as vinegar ages it thickens and becomes sweeter. This really makes the vinegar palatable without any extras. You can defiantly mix it with olive oil, but you don't have too. It also will top off your cooking or add to your cooking beautiful rich flavors. And who knew there could be so many flavors of balsamic?! Fig, Mango, Espresso, Mandarin-Chocolate, and Grapefruit, just to name a few. if you're wondering what do those taste like, and how do i know i want to buy a bottle? Look around and grab some of the little white paper cups and bread available for tasting. Try before you buy is an AWESOME concept, especially when you have to spend more than $5 to buy a bottle to try. They do have small sample size bottles for sale, however price wise, the better deal is to get the medium sized (or the bigger sized bottle). There are also flavor infused olive oils available, garlic, Persian lime, Meyer lemon, Mediterranean, just to name a few. These can be paired with one of their aged vinegars or can stand alone. I love cooking and have used quite a few of these in recipes. They always add a little extra umph, or just makes something taste great. I often use the vinegar strait instead of salad dressing. Nothing but the vinegar! Which makes the dressing healthier! And it really is so delicious on it's own, it needs nothing else! While a bottle of this stuff is not going to be less than $5, i think for the quality of what you are buying, and the quantity that you get, the prices are reasonable. Another great thing is a little goes a long way. So the price is worth the product. As far as the store goes, it has a nice clean, uncluttered appearance, staff are friendly, and they often have classes available! So go check it out and buy a bottle to take home and experiment with! read more

I had no clue that this place even existed until recently when I was meeting a friend at Lafayette Village and she arrived there before me and told me she would be in The Olive Wagon. I frequent LV but had idea where this was. Lucky for me, I found it and am now in love! Any sort of olive oil, infused or not, this place has it! I really would have never thought it would be something I would be interested in, until I ventured in and started to taste the different flavors. Holey moley...YUMMO to the max! For around $17, you can leave with a large bottle of flavored olive oil to cook with, or use for dipping. I brought the two bottles home, the Persian Lime, and the Zesty Lemon Balsamic, and we've used it on everything! In fact, I am due for another visit as we speak! read more

What a tasty spot to visit! Infused oils, vinegars, jams, gourmet pasta, mustards, salts and other yummy things are available to taste and buy. The staff is friendly, the selection is good and the flavors enticing. The only downside is that it's not cheap, and the sweet flavored balsamics are very sweet indeed, suggesting a syrup reduction rather than 100% barrel age. Ambitious cooks can produce a comparable balsamic glaze product in the pan for much less, but the time savings as well as the skillfully infused flavors make these bottles a useful pantry stocker for quick depth of flavor. Where to begin: I came in to return a small oil and vinegar that was premade in a gift set. It was not opened or used and I had a receipt. The owner of the store GRILLED me on why I was returning this , stating "we never have anyone return things". She asked me question after question. I told her it was a gift and I decided to get something else. She asked why I couldn't just keep it for myself then. Goodness! I stumbled upon this little gem two weeks ago and I have been back 3 times. I absolutely LOVE their products. I had always heard about how much of a difference using a high quality olive oil makes... they weren't joking! It is incredible! They have a large selection of infused oils and about 20ish balsamics. I have purchased the White Cranberry Pear, White Coconut Lime and Black Currant vinegar. I love them for salads, marinades, and drizzle over dishes that need an extra wow factor. POOR BUSINESS POLICY! Although the selection and quality of oils and vinegars is very good, the business policy of only selling 100 ml. bottles by the pair is an extremely poor one. Upon purchasing a large bottle of olive oil, we wanted to also buy one small bottle of a flavored balsamic. Although there are dozens of individual 100 ml. bottles on a shelf, we were told we needed to buy at least 2, since they were allegedly part of a "set". We told the clerk we didn't want to make a gift set; the purchase was for our own use & we wanted only one small bottle. Pricing is listed for 2 bottles, 3 bottles, etc. but not for one bottle. We stated they could divide the price for 2 bottles in half to arrive at a one bottle price. They could even add a slight up-charge for selling one 100 ml. bottle, but this was apparently against store policy. We were astounded that they would prefer to lose a sale (close to $10) than sell one individual bottle, which was not part of any pre-packaged "set". We try to patronize small, local businesses, but this policy to force a customer to buy more than they are interested in will cause more animosity than increased sales and is a policy that can and should be changed. read more
