I was specifically referred to Heejoo Hong at this place for acupuncture by the benefits administrator with my insurance. I was told it would be covered and the provider was in network. When I showed up for the appointment, multiple people there couldn't figure out how to bill my insurance properly so they then tried to charge me a fee which they said would later be reimbursed if my insurance covered it. I shouldn't be charged a fee bc they are not competent enough to figure out how to bill properly. That is their problem, not mine. They then said bc I made the appointment yesterday that it wasn't enough time to figure out how to bill. This is complete BS. If they couldn't figure it out, they could have and should have called the insurance and sorted it out before I got there for my appointment insteas of tryinf to figure it out while.i was there. What is the point of making me provide the insurance prior to the appointment if you arent going to figure it out until I am sitting in the waiting room. Updated Review: It's been over 5 months getting acupuncture from The OM Acupuncture and my experience has been amazing. It's been helping me manage inflammation from thyroid issues / my autoimmune disease along with alleviating symptoms I get from it. Since I found out about the lounge acupuncture experience, I have been going more consistently and have been getting my acupuncture through Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran is marvelous, she is very caring along with always asking about my symptoms and what I'm seeking to focus on when I come in for a visit. Every time I get my acupuncture through Dr. Tran, I can feel my symptoms minimize / improve. She is very knowledgeable and knows what to do to help me with my symptoms. My overall health and wellbeing have improved since getting acupuncture and I like the flexibility of being able to make visits on Saturday's as well. Online booking has made it easy for me to reschedule / and book all my appointments. I never been to another been to another place for acupuncture services but I would say I have not experience any bad service / overall bad experience here, making me make visits often and enjoying each appointment. read more

I have been to 4 different Acupuncturists in the past, and I have had the best results with Dr. Hong and her colleagues (Dr. Tran also). Dr. Hong listens to my complaints and works with the pain pathways to relieve my rotator cuff tear and my achilles/ankle tendinitis. I have had 6 sessions of Physical Therapy for my rotator cuff with absolutely no relief. I have had an immediate and a favorable response to the combination Acupuncture and cupping treatment plan. Dr. Hong is so skilled, where I don't even feel the needles. She always comes in with a smile and leaves the room with a smile. She is never hurried with me, even though I know she so busy. I feel i get A+ treatment every time I am there. The OM Acupuncture Wellness center is a well-oiled machine. I am greeted instantly by the wonderful staff, which includes Diana, Sophia and Isabella. Always smiling and friendly. There is always NO waiting to check in, and I have never had to wait more than 3 minutes in the waiting room before I am ushered into a room. Before my first appointment, Diana, the Office Manager (who is also a back office assistant), already ran my insurance information and she informed me that I was covered with my insurance, plus a small co-pay. I didn't have to deal with asking for a referral from my insurance plan. Diana did all the work!! She has been wonderful every time i come in! All of the Front office Assistants, also work the back office with patients. They are skilled in setting me up for my treatment that day. Some have set up the cupping, and I am never left there waiting to be disconnected. The rooms are always clean, and they disinfect the tables, not like some of the other places I have seen. I haven't been back since my last review, and this is why. I had actually planned to go back, but life got a bit busy with an inconsistent work schedule, so I hadn't booked anything. Someone from the office called me to ask me if I was interested in booking anything, so I said I was busy and that I would call back to book. The lady then told me that she was calling because they read my review and that they were concerned that I wouldn't return because of it. Nothing else. So... you're concerned about losing my business, but you're not concerned about my poor experience? She didn't even offer an apology or even a kind word of empathy - just that they were concerned that I wouldn't return due to my review. I had actually planned to return, but this phone call was the nail in the coffin for me. It demonstrates that their motives are purely selfish and they don't care to "make it right." Until this point, I didn't expect anything from them, not even an apology. But if they are going to call me to ask me why I haven't booked a future appointment yet, that's the least they could have offered. To their credit, they did respond directly to my original review, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt since this is for the public. Advice for them (even if they may not care): get your staff some better customer service training. Train them on interpersonal skills. Some of them are just super awkward. read more

When Dr. Garcia left, I'll admit I was a little skeptical about seeing someone new because I really enjoyed my treatments with him. But I'm so glad I gave Dr. Heejoo Hong a chance I absolutely love her. She's attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled. I went in with shoulder and neck pain, and after her first treatment, my neck was sore for a couple of days, then I felt the most amazing relief. In July 2024, my colleague recommended this clinic to me. I am fortunate that my insurance covers acupuncture, and the co-pay is quite reasonable, especially if you have the Sharp plan. Prior to visiting this clinic, I was experiencing low and mid-back pain that was particularly bothersome. The clinic recommended that I attend twice a week for three weeks, and I found that this treatment to be quite beneficial. Subsequently, I transitioned to weekly sessions for approximately three months. Currently, most of my pain has dissipated in my middle back. I am now targeting the lower back, and I believe that this treatment is effective. Additionally, due to the improvement, I am now going bi-weekly instead of weekly I also appreciate the professionalism of my acupuncturist, Dr. Hong. I'll start with the good - Upon entering OM Acupuncture, I instantly felt like I had been transported into a calm and serene place. The space is clean and modern. The front desk staff is wonderful. I opted for acupuncture treatment in the lounge for both my visits because it was a cheaper alternative to booking a private room. At first, I was hesitant since I've only ever done acupuncture in a private room, but the lounge was actually really peaceful and I had no issues with other customers being in the room. My main gripe with the place is that it is ran more like a medspa vs a traditional acupuncture clinic. During my second treatment, the doctor I met with began upselling the entire duration of my appointment. I understand they are a business and they need customers to know about all their service offerings. However the sales pitches were endless. From selling me on their microneedling, to their SPF lotions, to their cosmetic tools - it was relentless. Even as she was putting in the needles, she continued to try and talk to me about other services. What really pushed me over the edge was when I opened up about how I don't feel comfortable doing microneedling given that in some instances (although rare), people have experienced bad side effects. The doctor I spoke with tried to convince me multiple times microneedling was 100% safe. Even when I told her directly "I am not comfortable with this treatment and it's not for me", I didn't really feel like she respected my boundaries and I found that to be really irresponsible. I've done acupuncture for many years, and I can say I've never had a clinic try and upsell me this much on outside services. I really went back and forth about leaving a review because I don't like leaving negative reviews for small business owners. But I really feel like it's important other potential customers know what to expect. I'm bummed to say that I will not be going back and that I ultimately believe there are much better acupuncturist out there if that is your main focus area for treatment. read more

I really wanted to like OM Acupuncture. However, the overall business practices I encountered there made this impossible. The experience started off well, and I thoroughly enjoyed the first practitioner I worked with. He was personable, friendly, and kind, and he attentively listened to the presenting issues I wanted to have treated. Sadly, this practitioner left OM to start up his own business about six weeks after I first started seeing him. Rather than inform me about this departure, however, OM acupuncture said nothing. This was after I had regularly seen this practitioner multiple times for over a month. What OM did do was to strongly encourage me to purchase a multi-session treatment package on the pretense I would keep seeing the same practitioner. If the practitioner in question had not informed me of his departure himself a week before it happened, I would have been caught completely unaware. There is a definite lack of transparency in the OM business model. The primary focus is on getting customers' money with subpar service given in exchange. In the wake of this practitioner departure, I took a few weeks to decide if I wanted to continue going to OM Acupuncture. I eventually returned, but was disappointed in the quality of care I received. While the new doctor I had was pleasant enough, the effectiveness of the acupuncture did not compare with the first practitioner I saw. Furthermore, the new doctor appeared to have gotten me mixed up w. another patient, and at one point asked me how my migraines are, despite my never having suffered from migraines. The final straw came when I went to check out. As I paid and prepared to make a follow-up appointment, the front desk assistant adopted a very rude attitude. In essence, she acted as though it was a huge offense for me to request an appointment time after 5 pm on a weekday. Like many others in this world, I work a full-time job during the day and cannot schedule appointments in the morning or mid-afternoon. For some reason, this concept was lost on the front desk assistant, who was roundly impolite and unprofessional. In essence, she stated that I "should have booked weeks out in advance" if I wanted an evening appointment. She then added that she would "make a note on [my] chart about [my] limited availability." This last statement was said as if I had asked for the appointment to be at 2:46 am on Leap Year. Not to mention the fact that I would never book an appointment weeks in advance for a new practitioner I had only just met. Furthermore, there was still the unaddressed issue of my original doctor leaving without my being informed by OM. All in all, there are many other acupuncturists in the region who are more genuine, transparent, and skilled in what they do. read more

Very misleading business model. When I arrived for my appointment, I discovered it was a group setting in a room with 4 recliner chairs. People coming and going, describing their ailments, moaning and groaning when needles are being inserted all while you are supposed to be relaxing and receiving your treatment. How is the energy supposed to flow with 3 others in the room?!? Oh, and none of this was disclosed when I made my appointment. And if that wasn't enough, the "doctor" told a client that if he left a 5-star review she would give him 2 free treatments..in the group treatment room. Very professional and relaxing, right? It felt like a chain operation, like the Applebee's of Acupuncture. So all of these 5 star reviews I suspect have something to do with that... Oh, and the walls and doors are paper thin, so you hear every conversation at the front desk reception area. I actually felt more relaxed BEFORE I walked in then after my appointment. Dr. Thanhtruc Tran is an amazing acupuncturist. She is currently treating me for post ankle and foot reconstruction surgery, which was extensive. She is also treating me for continuing plantar fasciitis pain. I respond really well to acupuncture as I am healing, and as a result of acupuncture, I am not taking any pain pills (including anything over the counter). Though the areas are very sensitive, Dr. Tran is so skilled that I barely feel anything when the needles go in-and I'm typically scared of needles! The office experience is also amazing. When I was looking for a good acupuncturist on Yelp due to my right shoulder injury, I saw OM Acupuncture Wellness and I was surprised to see such good reviews. I booked an appointment with Dr. H who is the business owner. When I finished my first section with Dr. H that afternoon, I received an email from The OM Acupuncture Wellness asking to give Dr. H a rating and to write a review on Yelp about my treatment with her. I didn't do the review, because it was only my first day of treatment. After my second section of acupuncture that evening my right arm was in so much pain that I could not sleep very well. I told Dr. H about my right arm hurting so badly during my third section. she was cold and did not show her empathy. I tried to ask a few questions about my shoulder and arm, but she would not let me finish. She said she is a doctor and she knew what she was doing. She put about 5 needles on my right arm in about 2 minutes and pulled out the needles very quickly. She told me the problem was on my shoulder and neck. I truly believed that the pain mainly was on my right arm, because it bothers me the most. I asked her to please treat my right arm first then the shoulder and neck, but she would not do that. I'm not sure if she understands how to interact with her patients and show kindness and compassion towards them. I'm back again for another review for the OM Acupuncture Wellness! I do feel lucky that I have been able to find this healthcare provider. Since my last review of them back in 2021, I have continued to get lounge treatment (using my insurance). Dr. Tran has quick hands and places the needles in effortlessly. I have an office job which I find myself either sitting/standing in one spot and my legs fell stiff. Her treatments are exactly what my body needs. I was also excited to hear this office was offering microneedling. I have been suffering from 'ice pick' scars and have done microdermabrasions and IPL photofacials from various vendors. I was curious about microneedling and Dr. Ko shared with how the treatment worked along with the red light therapy. True, as this is a cosmetic procedure, there is no insurance involved... ha the price for beauty. All jokes aside, I have done two microneedling sessions with her and I am very please with the results. Yes, the skin needs time to heal after the session so the seeking results immediately may leave one disappointed. There is a point where you do need to trust the process and let the skin/collagen to rebuild. Dr. Ko does the cosmetic acupuncture (as that is a different service they offer). I have been coming here for over 2 years now. I first starting coming for my back and should pain with Dr.Hong and she has helped me so much with relieving my pain and also help with my posture. I have definitely seen improvement. I have also been doing facial and cosmetic treatments with Dr. Ko. My sun spots have cleared up every since I started as well as my pores. I have had 2 sessions for far with micro needling and I've seen a big difference on my face with blemishes and wrinkles. Came in for a treatment. There is plenty of parking. The entry way to the office is a beautiful black and white tile design, When entering the actual business I noticed how clean and beautiful the space was. Very professional. The acupuncture doctor was informative, nice and had a good technique when putting the needles in. I do not like needles, but when these go in I barely felt anything. They are so thin, not like traditional needles used to inject or extract fluid. The machine cupping was my first experience. It was interesting and I felt some relief after the treatment was finished. I have recommended OM Acupuncture to friends and family members. I began my treatment at The Om Acupuncture Wellness a few months ago. My issue is chronic neck and shoulder pain that has plagued me for the past 5 - 6 years, during which I've tried many modalities for healing, including massage, dry needling, craniosacral therapy, physical therapy, and the list goes on and on. While some of those past treatments offered degrees of mobility improvement and relief, nothing has had nearly a fraction of the positive impact on my pain and overall well-being as the regular acupuncture I've been receiving at Om. Since I started going to Om, I've noticed significant reductions in my pain physically and also have felt more optimistic generally that there is a light at the end of the tunnel of my chronic pain. Also, thanks to the treatments at Om, I've actually felt well enough to resume more strenuous exercise again, which is essential to rebuilding the atrophied muscles in my neck and shoulder, whereas in the past I've lived in fear of really working those muscles as doing so has nearly always led to a recurrence of intense and prolonged pain. I also was advised to add fire cupping to my Om regimen, which has had significant positive impacts on my reduction of pain and inflammation, while also having a noticeable positive effect on my circulation. With the combination of acupuncture and fire cupping, I have been feeling better in my body than I have in as long as I can remember. And beyond the real and significant pain relief I've experienced, the clinic itself is perfection. Convenient location, easy and ample parking, but best of all is that from the doctors to the staff, the entire team at Om is truly exceptional in their professionalism, communication, transparency, positivity, and genuine compassion. I previously went to OM Acupuncture due to sinus issues. I purchased a plan for several treatments which resolved my pain. Five years later my sinuses was acting up again, so I went bad to get treatment again. After my visit, my pain went away. I love the new renovations.
