Had a good experience getting some piercings, but the helix piercing they gave me healed over at the back. That was my fault, not theirs, but when I asked what to do the email that came back was judgmental, not helpful, and someone called Philip told me my only option was to go and see a doctor. I contacted Atomic Tattoo to get a second opinion, they told me come in, and Raynan Cravey at the Burnet location fixed it in a moment for $5.00. If I had listened to Diablo Rojo, I would be spending a fortune at Urgent Care about now. Naturally I'll be going to Raynan at Atomic from now on. It's a very clean shop, excellent selection of quality jewelry, and the staff is also super nice and helpful. What I loved the most was their honesty. Mike, who helped remove and replace the jewelry, talked me out of one of the pieces of jewelry I was interested in because it wouldn't sit right in a tragus piercing. My daughter decided that last Sunday she was ready to get her ears pierced. She made the decision to commit to it and so we went. We got there around 1P and it was quite busy. Everyone decided to get something pierced that day. Gill was the only piercer, but he informed us of the 1.5/2hr wait. My daughter didn't want to leave because she didn't know if she would have the guts to do it again. I understand that feeling. When our time came, he had me scan a QR code for the waiver while he assisted her in picking out earrings. When we went to the back, he closed the door and informed her that she was the most important person in the room and in control of everything. He walked her thru everything he was going to do and told her he wouldn't start til she gave the thumbs up. He went over breathing and told me where I would stand when he pierced each ear. Diablo Rojo is a really great place to get piercings if you don't mind waiting. They work slow but very thorough. I came for a forward helix and a conch piercing and Gil talked through the entire process and was very sanitary the entire time. He definitely has experience know where to pierce to get the exact look I was going for. The only detractor is that we had to wait over an hour when there were only a couple parties in front of us but it's well worth the wait for a sanitary, skilled piercer. I would recommend going on off hours during the week to skip the wait if that's a big concern. read more

I came in wanting to add another nose piercing but couldn't decide if I wanted the same side or opposite. Dill gave me a few ideas and ultimately I ended up adding a stud stacked above my current hoop and a symmetric stud so I can have matching hoops once it heals. The process was great, and the website details were spot on for what to expect as far as COVID procedures. My estimated time was 60 minutes but I ended up only waiting about 20 minutes! Overall a great experience, and I didn't feel rushed into making placement/jewelry choices. I'll definitely be back. The shop was very clean, there was a good variety of jewelry to choose between, and the piercing itself was great (especially for someone who always gets nervous, even after having been pierced and tattooed a bunch of times.) I wanted gauges for my ear (2Gauge\6mm) is what I want to end with and he gave me two options, the long way or the short way, and I went with the short way, having had zero piercings in my life. Cannot say enough good things about Mike! My 10-year-old and I went in yesterday for her first earrings; I've been in before for a piercing and had a great experience. There was a long wait, but that's because they take their time prepping you, sanitizing everything, and being meticulous about placement before the actual piercing. My daughter was so anxious and he was so sweet with her, helping her get the perfect earrings, talking her though what he was doing, reminding her to breathe, and then gently talking her through the at-home care and telling her how awesome she did. I had an extremely frustrating and insulting experience at El Diablo. My sister attempted to take my 15 year old daughter to get an ear piercing for her birthday. When they arrived they were told that a parent needed to be present so I drove to the shop. When I arrived they told me I needed to bring her birth certificate so I drove back home and brought a copy along with her passport. That copy was used to get her passport. The manager came out and was incredibly condescending and told me it was state law that I needed to bring her actual birth certificate a certified copy and her passport was not sufficient. She then tried to tell us that they could be charged with assault and I should know more before coming in. We left and went to a different establishment and had a wonderful time and my daughter loves her piercing. This led me to review the law and it does NOT state you need the original birth certificate but a valid government id. In addition the legal definition of assault demands intent of harm. I'm fine with a business having rules or not wanting to assume liability but don't reprimand your customers on the law especially when you are wrong. This establishment employs professional piercers and is kept pristinely clean. Both of those factors are major pluses when I enter piercing galleries and tattoo parlors-- basically a plus for any time someone's gonna stick me with needles for aesthetic purposes. My friend and I came here on a late Sunday night and had no wait, except for while we waited for Mason to sanitize the piercing area and equipment. By the way, Mason was a hoot. He is super well educated and explains things down to a T. I even had my nose pierced multiple times before and I still learned something new. He has a calming demeanor, and before you even know it, he's finished with his work. My only issue was I do believe it's a bit overpriced. It costs $35 for the nose piecing and another $20 for the jewelry (at cheapest. It only goes up from there). I've never been to an establishment where I had to pay for even the most basic jewelry. My nostril piercing was infected because someone at True Blue tattoo sold me a nose infinity hoop that was too small. My nose literally looked like a tomato!! I was so frustrated so I decided to go to Diablo. Appointment style: -there's an online wait list so you don't need to wait in the heat -they text you beforehand of what service you want to prepare -respond to your texts fairly fast Sanitation: -they have covid requirements like being fully Vaxxed and wearing masks -I like how they take covid seriously -I loved how it wasn't crowded, only me and the piercer -Gill sanitized his tools for eight minutes right when I got there -He washed his hands thoroughly in front of me then put on gloves to handle my piercing Customer service: I really loved how Gill DIDN'T try to sell me any jewelry or convince/pressure me to do anything. Very patient to answer questions, didn't seem in a rush, and let me explain my situation. So many times I've gone to OTHER pierce shops where I ask them an extensive list of questions, ask them about their recommendations, and they really don't treat their customers as people. Other pierce shops rush, don't explain things thoroughly, and don't give you advice for your best interest. I do my own research, but I don't know everything, so I liked how he was patient with me. He recommended me to take off my nose piercing and so I paid $10 for jewelry removal and then tip. He let me stay a few extra minutes after removal to ensure my nose piercing was ok. He said I can always Instagram DM them and they can help me look for a professional pierce shop that has proper certification in my town I'm moving to. I don't object to a business restricting their practices due to COVID. But as of this writing I saw nothing on their website about COVID restrictions. Hiwever, when my wife emailed to simply ask if they were doing nose piercings she got a very snide, rude, and condescending reply. But don't take my word for it. You'll see something similar right here when someone else posed a question about septum piercings. You can state an opinion or policy without sounding like a jerk, but apparently this guy doesn't know how to communicate in a professional manner with would-be customers. And we don't need a lecture about the dangers of COVID either. You're entitled to your opinion, and you're also entitled to run a business, but you certainly won't be getting mine. And if this is any indication of how he treats people I'm amazed he has any customer or employees at all. My daughter wanted to have her helix pierced, so we went to South Lamar location which was super crowded on Saturday. There was nobody at the front desk (not sure if they even have "front desk" at that location), so we stepped outside and called them hoping to make an appointment for later that day or Sunday. Lady who answered the phone explained that they don't offer appointments and suggested we go to E Cesar Chavez location as it's usually less crowded. Once we arrived, Cesar Chavez location was much bigger, brighter, had plenty of comfortable seating while you waited. It had a lot of display cabinets for jewelry, so my daughter had fun picking out her new earring. The lady who pierced her ears was very personable and chatty. We filled out all the required paperwork, and I loved how thorough she was with explaining why they needed my ID and my daughters, and how laws worked. The room for piercing was spotless, and the whole procedure was quick (and mostly painless :). After-care instructions were given at the end during check out, and it really ensured we remembered all the details (we were too excited and worried before/during piercing). The whole system that is set up for appointments is fantastic and I felt beyond safe even with Covid numbers climbing. The place was clean, the piercer (I forgot his name) explained everything in detail and talked through the process which was nice. It was only me and my friend allowed in for our appointment until the next one on the waitlist was called. We had to wear a mask unless fully vaccinated and showed proof.
