The best! Food. It's all from scratch. Wait til you taste…read moretheir breads. People. Employees!!! Now going weekly.

My wife swears by this place. Based on the reviews, so does everyone else. We have to stop every…read moresingle time we drive by, coming and going. I just don't think it's that good, any of it really... I don't even go inside any more when we stop. There is nothing that I want enough to burn the calories on. My wife won't ever admit it, but we throw away most of what we buy every single time. No one eats it. It just sits there and molds. I take that back, the rolls (maybe butter horns, am I making that up?) are pretty good. I'll tear them suckers up right out of the toaster oven. The cinnamon rolls, baked goods, and loaf breads are all dry and taste to be made with dirt cheap ingredients to me. Chex mix stuff is even bland. How is that!?!?!? I've never had a sandwich so maybe I am missing out. I'm not a big sandwich guy though. It's just not my thing. Last time we came through, she got Lasagna and some Ham and Potato Casserole. After taking a bite of the lasagna, I checked the ingredients and number two on the list is Cottage Cheese! What in the actual...?? Who does that? Not a sign of any garlic at all. Look at my pics for the ingredients yourself. Ham and Potato thing was terrible. Just awful. She didn't even eat that. I'm not even sure who would like that. Additionally, the directions are crap in the casseroles. Double them all as far as time is concerned. I'm not sure if it's my tastebuds that are shit now from all of the spicy food I am used to, or if this stuff is really not as good as the mystique and nostalgia that country folks like to say it has. People are friendly, the place is fairly well kept for an old country bakery . You can see the kitchen making the baked goods. I just don't dig it. '24 - 48/100

Ole Country Bakery - OCB Lasagna. Sounded like a good idea! Their cooking directions are comical. Easily double all of that cook time nonsense.

Cuuuuute cute cute little patisserie in downtown Florence. I saw it on our way into Mugshots last…read moreSaturday. I was afraid we were there too late in the day but I managed to glimpse the hours of operation and realized I could still duck in, and so I did! The inside is clearly French-inspired. It's cute and I saw several folks scattered around the small seating area working on laptops or sipping coffee and chatting quietly. They have a few meal-ish offerings a la ham and cheese croissants and quiche. There's a small pastry case near the register where you can peruse their goods. It was a little bit picked over when I got there but it makes sense -- an hour before closing on a weekend, it's to be expected. I was thrilled to grab the last almond croissant! Service was so sweet! She asked me if I had a student ID for a student discount. I told her I was a student online at a different university and she said I could still have one if I had my ID. How nice! She also sent me off with the nicest goodbye and thank you. My almond croissant that I had for dessert later that night was delightful! Crumbly, flaky pastry, silky almond filling, pleasantly toasty almond slivers. I enjoyed every bite! I thought about only leaving 4 stars because I don't know if I've tried enough of the product to warrant a 5, but I really have no complaints, and so...5 it is! I will happily return when I'm in Florence again. :)
