I am usually dubious of anything and any person that gets all 5 stars and nothing negative. However, Dr. Vaidya is the real deal. At my annual eye exam two weeks ago, I found out I have macular degeneration. I checked Yelp and saw this highly rated doctor. I even called one of the people who wrote an excellent review to make sure he still felt the same way now-he did! I called my optomerist who also said Dr. Vaidya is great. Lastly, I had an appt with my primary doctor and mentioned to him I was going to see a specialist. He asked who I had the appt with. I said it begins with a V. He said, "Oh yes! Dr. Vaidya! I take my mother to him." I was able to get an appt within a week of when I first called. I was a bit scared because eye disease runs on BOTH sides of my family. Dr. Vaidya was friendly, kind, professional, patient and relaxed. Relaxed might sound odd, but I mean he didn't rush. It wasn't a mill like some doctors' offices, where they run in, spend five minutes, and is on to the next patient. He was very thorough, did several tests and exams and explained everything in layman's terms. No one in the office asked me to submit a review, and I rarely do, in general. I had been to see a different retinal specialist previously for a vein occlusion in my right eye and was given eye injections that were followed by a Betadine wash as treatment. I had a violent reaction to the Betadine that felt like gasoline was poured in my eyes and then set on fire. It felt like an acid wash that lasted for 10 hours. I asked my previous doctor if there was an alternative to the Betadine and he said no, that it was a medical mandate to stave off infection. My second eye treatment was worse than the first so I opted to terminate the treatment and quit going. However, in 4 months my vision was beginning to degrade so I looked for a new doctor and booked an appointment as a new patient to see Dr. Vaidya based on his highly positive reviews. He gave me two pieces of great news. First, he felt I may not need injections at this juncture and opted to prescribe some ocular eye drops for 3 months as treatment for the vein occlusion and in the interim see a cataract specialist. Second he told me that there was an alternative to the Betadine wash in the event I did need injections at a future time!!! With Dr. Vaidya I felt heard and my concerns and questions were addressed in a positive, personal, professional manner that put me at ease and made me feel in good hands with this office. read more

The best. Nothing left to say. I was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy. After looking at treatments for this condition, I saw they were laser or injections into your eye. That scared the crap out of me. I was so nervous seeing the doctor. After him telling me that I would need a injection, my heart sank. However he talked to me and comforted me and really calmed me down. He then did the procedure, nothing too it. Dr. Vaidya is a true professional with great customer service and a great staff. Both my mom and I go to see Dr. Vaidya for macular degeneration. He has such a loving/kind/calm bedside manner. The office staff is efficient and nice. This is a solo practice office and I love that coming from multiple physician group practice. My mom gets eye injection 2-4 times a year depends on her condition and his technique has been good also. I am very appreciative of my doctor and his staff at Retina OC. I called their on-call number on their website on a Saturday, very concerned with what I was experiencing with my eyes.
