This place is a hidden gem! We stayed in Area 51 and it was delightful! The price is right and it has a full kitchen! I forgot to take pictures until we were checking out. The place was clean and quite. This charming little inn made our trip to Glenwood Springs even better and we will definitely be back!

Went to Glenwood Springs for the first time and decided to stay here for two nights. Upon first…read morearrival, we were definitely entranced by how cute the house is. Looked like a living doll house! Friday: Everything seemed A-OK. The keys are to be picked up right when you walked in, and our room was so charming. Lots of complimentary water, cookies, and my fiancé loved the shampoo and conditioner! Their body soap container was completely empty tho and our mirror also had a random blonde strand of hair. Other than that, it was a nice night's stay. Very quiet. Saturday: Their website said that they were no longer serving breakfast due to low staff other than providing yogurt and pastry. It was understandable. However, there was absolutely nothing when we came downstairs and the coffee area (as you can see in the picture when I took it) had an area for clean/dirty spoons but there was none provided. There was also no water for the coffee machine, so we had to use our water bottle and also a plastic fork we bought from the store to stir the coffee, lol. When we came back later on in the afternoon, it was all stocked. It was as if they forgot we were there. Sunday: Now today was what I was waiting for. Breakfast! I believe her name was Erica was an absolute delight to chat with, and their breakfast was so tasty and was so aesthetically pleasing. Just look how cute those pancakes are! Have you ever had a chance to call pancakes cute? This is a first for me! Anyways that experience alone was so nice that it made me boost this entire rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Ordered pizza and brought a bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio outside. As soon as we sat down, the neighbor decided to announce that he was going to spray a hornet's nest on his side of the privacy fence. I requested that he wait until no one was out there; he refused. I tried to call the owner, but I spoke to someone who had no authority to do anything. The owners never returned my call. I was also told he would refund our second night because they had re-rented it. It's a week later, and no refund has been received. charging double for the room... The house is in a rundown condition. Rotting wood, uneven foundations, and generally an overgrown garden with paint pans left in the weeds. The pilot light on the gas fireplace was on and heating the room, even though the AC was needed. uncomfortably hot to the point of opening the doors to cool off at night. The bathroom smelled of urine and the waterfall tub faucet shot water straight out to the other side of a tub( not a waterfall) that routed water to a schetchy hand-held shower that sprayed water in every direction but down... Mold on the shower curtain made me question if I could even use it. Breakfast is not served on Saturday!! (How about Wednesday, an unpopular day?) So a yogurt and granola are left for guests to find sitting out on the table in a separate part of the house, unrefrigerated. Parking is terrible! No spaces on the street. house is in a rundown condition

The cabins are well-stocked for a large family stay; the main cabin is a two bedroom house with one bathroom, dining room and kitchen. It's stocked with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, linens, trash bags and firewood, everything you need in a cabin in the woods. The setting is surrounded by beautiful mountains which were changing colors this time of year. I saw deer every day grazing in front of the cabin. I also heard there are frequent bear sightings but I didn't see any (I was hoping to get some photos!). There's a small stream running right alongside the cabin which makes for sleeping soundly. If you sleep with the windows open and let in the cool mountain breeze. Outside there is a large fire pit surrounded with chairs which is where we spent everyone of our evenings sitting around the campfire talking about the days fishing. The cabin does have Wi-Fi but it's of very limited speed and you can actually use it for Wi-Fi calling as well. The nearest cell phone signal is about 4 miles up the road so you really get the feel of being alone with nature and away from our fast-paced world. They also have Dish TV if you do decide to embellish if can't be without the latest sports or news. We didn't need to use the TV at all. Just across the road Taylor Creek has its own private fishing waters on the frying pan river if you love to fish for trout. It's great for fly fishing and there's a Gold medal fishery; its famous for its large brown and rainbow trout. And oh yeah definitely bring your best camera we can take photographs for days of the mountains, streams, and wildlife the scenery is absolutely astounding! If you're looking for the ultimate getaway but are no longer into tent camping this is absolutely the place to go!

There's so much to love about Avalanche Ranch: 1) Views on views! The 3 hot springs are situated to make great use of the landscape and offer some epic views of Mount Sopris. I chose to stay in the hotter 2 pools during my visit, and it was delightful. 2) They offer a limited number of soak passes per day; which means you get a really relaxing intimate experience. 3) If you're in the mood for a little pampering, they do offer massages! Totally work the indulgence. The therapist takes the time to get to know your specific body needs and helps work out all the knots and kinks. 4) They offer up a variety of accommodations on-site for those that are seeking more of a retreat type experience. Apparently, we booked our massage and soak the same day as AppleFest. While that could be a lovely experience full of pot luck goodies and folk music, it was a bit frustrating to not have been told in advance. Parking was pretty full upon arrival, and it was packed when we left. Oof. Just not prepared for all that during this visit. All in all, Avalanche Ranch was a great way to loosen up some sore stiff muscles. I'd easily make my way back to indulge again. **Pro Tip: Feeling peckish? You can bring in your own food and drinks!
