The Original Rainbow Cone is a nice little ice cream spot. They are consistently busy but it only took about 10min after ordering, which wasn't bad. The staff were all very kind and patient! Very family friendly environment, except for the seating. There is hardly any indoor seating. As far as the ice cream, it was good, but just that, good. The minty city shake had good flavor but the shake was surprisingly kind of warm? It wasn't as cold as I would have hoped for. I got the chocolate obsession waffle cone. I was excited for this but it just missed the mark for me. Unfortunately the only consistent flavor that came through was large chunks of peanut butter. The waffle cone tasted fresh, flaky, and was excellent. I do love the creativity and presentation of their food! I'm sure we will be back as it is good ice cream, they have a lot of other fun flavors to try, they've only been open for 2 weeks, and the service was great. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar shops 4**** = Set themselves a part with tastiness 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there! read more

I was excited and surprised (pun intended) to learn that a Rainbow Cone location was coming to Surprise. I tried a rainbow cone years ago at Lollapalooza in Chicago, but didn't realize they had freestanding locations, especially outside of Illinois. My mom and I checked it out this afternoon--just two days after the soft opening. We both ordered the rainbow cone. Mine was in a cake cone and my mom opted for the waffle bowl. We were delighted by the flavors. The rainbow cone consists of chocolate, strawberry, palmer house (walnut + cherry), pistachio, and orange ice creams. Despite being a diverse array of flavors, they work really well together. The cashier who helped us was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. The inside of the shop was adorable and perfectly decorated. I will definitely return! read more

We decided to head over with my niece and daughter to try this place I've been hearing about. It was so cute inside even my kids loved it. Service was wonderful from the start and since we've never been in before, they explained how a lot of their process works. I really appreciate it that if we didn't like the ice cream we chose they would give us something else. We ended up with a banana split a vanilla milkshake and a strawberry sunrise cone. It was crazy to watch them stack this ice cream and it sounds like so much but the cone I bought was about 1 1/2 scoops. I believe they were pretty busy and getting busier by the moment however they had our items pretty quickly so that was impressive. Everything was a hit and now I'm being bombarded with. When do we get to go back questions lol it's a little expensive but for the size alone of the banana split I'd say it's worth it if you just once in a while to treat yourself or your family I know we'll be back. Lines were out the door but service was quick and friendly. The smell when you open the door was heavenly and we already knew we would love this place a WAFFLE lot. We definitely liked getting layers of ice cream flavors especially when you want to try a little bit of everything. (like the sign when you walk in says "Life's too short for just one flavor!") The preset flavors were great and we can't wait to come back and make our own combinations. We definitely look forward to the next birthday in our family so we can order a cake...but they also sell cakes by the slice which means I might not have to wait till the next birthday. Had never heard of this place before but it looked cute and just opened so I stopped by today to give it a try. I had the cosmic birthday cone, it was great! Before 3pm is happy hour and they have many choices for 5$, it was a good sized ice cream and I liked how the flavors were layered in an alternating pattern. Can't wait to try some of their other offerings like the ice cream cakes & mini donuts. Smelled amazing inside & staff was friendly as well which is always a plus :) read more
