My daughter introduced me to this place when they opened in Glendale and I'd been hooked since then. I don't crave any other ice cream anymore and the cakes are delicious. Bruster's is NOT explicitly a vegan creamery, but they do play one on T.V. and as a vegan adjacent person who sometimes eats dairy still, I appreciate just how accessible their desserts are for people who can't eat and choose not to eat dairy be it on occasion or as part of their everyday experience. Bruster's always has multiple vegan ice cream flavors, and they are always delicious. I've had Bruster's non-dairy desserts at least three or four times now, Minch chocolate chip, chocolate raspberry truffle, cookies and cream, chocolate chip, strawberry and I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two. Its getting easier and more accessible for people to avoid animal products and for that once in a while ice cream shop experience, I can't think of many other places I would end up for ice cream. Buster's Real Ice Cream is really good. It's possibly the best ice cream I have had since moving to Arizona. Flavors with chunks have CHUNKS. The peppermint oreo had chunks as large as half a cookie. Chocolate peanut butter pretzel had crunchy pretzel bits. Both flavors were strong and true to their names. Ice cream itself is rich and creamy. I can't believe I am saying this, but a small (two scoops) was too much. That's how rich the ice cream is. Next time, I will opt for a kid's (one scoop). Or maybe skip a meal altogether. That way, there is more room for ice cream. Non dairy options are available. Children under 40" tall get a free "baby cone." Brewster's has both a walk-up window and a drive-thru. Ordering ahead via theit app is also available. Covered patio seating is available. During the winter, the patio is heated. Fans for the hot summer months.
