If Northlake, Illinois, wasn't over 800 miles away, I would gladly be there every chance I had for the exceptional food and warm atmosphere. Upon arriving at 8 PM, I was warmly greeted by Christy, who quickly seated wife and i with a big smile. The service was just as impressive as the food - from the delightful bar drinks that were promptly served at our table to the impressive build-your-own salad bar and delicious soups. The bartender was very friendly, and I struck up a conversation with most of the regulars sitting at the bar. Everyone was friendly and genuine. That can be difficult to find today. They had about four beers on draft and whatever else you might want in cans or bottles. I am not a liquor guy, but it looked like they had whatever you need to get the job done. The thing that made my visit to Bob's most worthwhile actually happened after I left. As I was walking back to my hotel, one of the local who was at the bar (but who I had not spoken to) stopped and asked if I needed a ride. Amazing. I highly recommend Bob's Lounge.
