This place is a good, local pub. The food is generally better than your average pub. It is well made either dine in or take out. This is our go to for a town that shuts down pretty early in the day. They have a good tap selection and mixed drinks are always generously made. Cranberry orange seems to not be an issue where elsewhere it sometimes can be. The service is good. Bartenders are always right there and the servers are quick and polite. Make sure you know what you want when you order over the phone, it's usually the new person answering and if you have allergies they always have to double check. I appreciate that level of concern. Try the specials. Usually something new to try there!! read more

Local pub in Uxbridge. Had an early dinner there today. Very casual, soft music in the background (Rock). Just enough that you could recognize the music but not intrusive. Food and price seems fairly standard. A friend recommended we try to prime rib which is available on Friday and Saturday night. It was not available and will not be going forward. My husband had the beef stroganoff which was good but not extraordinary. I had the strip loin which was cooked perfectly (medium rare). Could have been a better grade but better than most places. This is served with mashed potatoes which were okay and veggies that were the highlight of the meal. Lightly seasoned broccoli, carrots and peas which were cooked perfectly. Fresh not frozen. Their Kentucky mule is pretty good and is better if ordered as a double. Standard dessert fare. The service was excellent. Not fine dining service, it is a pub after all, but friendly and helpful. Burgers looked amazing and although not on the menu, they sometimes have Mahi Mahi which may be worth trying. Will definitely return. read more

I loved this little gem! The venue is so cute, I love all the exposed brick! Although we were there in the winter, it looks like they have a great patio as well. We will definitely have to come back in the summer to check it out. The beer selection is excellent! They even have Belgian Moon on tap! The food is great! Lots of selection and the prices are very reasonable. The potion size is descent, and you definitely don't go home hungry. The service we received was great. Our waitress was attentive, and everything arrived quickly! I would definitely recommend this place. I will be going back myself for sure. read more

I am still blown away by how good the restaurants are in Uxbridge. Walked into this one after school with the kids for a treat. Decor simple British/Canadian. Greeted right away and led to a booth with a TV. The kids obviously excited and frankly so was I since they would leave me alone as they watch Family channel. We ordered nachos, 2 lbs of wings, naked with sauce on the side and calamari. Nachos came with the works with mixed chips for $9. They were excellent. So many restaurants don't add all the little touches and charge much more(check out the photo). The wings were meaty and tasty. They marinaded the wings with salt before frying. It is a simple thing to do but most restaurant just drop un-seasoned wings right into the fryer and expect the sauce to do all the work. Calamari was decent. Try this one if you are in the neighborhood it is great. read more

Their version of fajitas means Teriyaki sauce and oregano, and the servers are rude (seriously rude), dismissive, and uncaring when you question this. I could have handled simply sending my food back and ordering something else if the server hadn't snarkily told me I didn't know what a fajita was. That was the deciding factor for me, and despite the very limited options in Uxbridge, I will not be back. read more

If you want your patrons to come back don't start skipping out. I Gave this pub a 3 star rating due to their menu. My husband ordered calamari as his starter, the server brought the tray over, our group was shocked at how little there was on the plate. I know restaurants have suffered, but don't start reducing your Quantity of food now that you're finally open. read more

Wixan's is a little hard to describe. The food menu is fairly extensive, but you know you're in a British Style (Not authentic by any stretch) setting. They do go out of their way to try and make the food as fresh and pleasant as possible, and offer some curried goodies as well. The Chicken pot pie isn't too bad, I do enjoy the make it yourself pasta, and my favourite is the steak sandwich. C'mon it's comfort food, take your appetite and have fun. read more

Went to lunch with my my aunt and cousin yesterday, and the place was not too busy, but not empty either. Our server was a friendly fella, and always seemed to be there at the right time. I ordered the butter chicken "pot" pie, which was a dish of butter chicken, topped with a couple of squares of puff pastry, and served with a side of steamed vegetables (broccoli, carrot & green beans) and mashed potatoes with gravy. The meal was more than ample - I took half of it home with me. Although the mashed potatoes and gravy were good, I felt they were unnecessary, and even might have competed with the butter sauce. Maybe some roasted fingerlings? Anyway, the star of the show, obviously, was the butter chicken. It was DELICIOUS!! Well cooked, good sized pieces of chicken (and plenty of it) and red/green peppers and onions in a delectable sauce. The flavor was spot on, and had the right amount of heat in it (although this Arizonan could have easily handled it a "wee bit" hotter). All told, a great dining experience at Wixan's Bridge. I come to this area once a year, and have been to Wixan's on at least two other occasions, and have never been disappointed by the food. read more

My go-to is the deep fried pickles. I usually just come here to drink but the odd time i come for food its on and off for me. Sometimes is good and sometimes its not worth finishing the meal. Decided to tread myself to a prime rib dinner since it was reasonably priced for such a treat. It was mostly all white chewy fat and overcooked with little pink left. My better half ordered wings and a large orange juice. The wings were excellent! The fires were nothing special. When we got our bill we were surprised the OJ cost as much as a carton. It has the potential to be a great place because of the food offerings but they obviously cut corners on quality. read more

Really enjoyed our first dinner in this restaurant. We arrived at 4:30 pm with 4 grandchildren who had been there previously and enjoyed it. Some of the orders included kids fish and chips, regular rib and wing special and burgers. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server, believe his name was Mike, was very helpful.
