I've been here a handfull of times since 2009, and it's pretty much worth the drive from rochester, ny just to go here! I always have a wonderful experience at this place! Offering a cozy old-timey ambiance that you just dont see every day, you'll enjoy stepping back in time here. The Paddock Club has comfy seating and a chill vibe. Went back here last night with a group of 9 friends for a birthday dinner. Overall our service was great, drinks were tasty and food was yummy. Friday night they have $6 martini specials and they even now have a 4 martini flight you can sample as well. Food- Personally I had the haddock fish special which is $10 on Friday night. I got mine broiled with Mac & cheese (yummy) but you can get it fried and with fries. Really good and a huge portion for the price. Their tarter sauce is delicious! I also sampled a few of the other dishes: Cheese Fondue flight (really good and yummy toast points) good fried pickles and onion rings but not as crispy as I prefer. Others at the table got the Buffalo shrimp salad, wedge salad, shrimp cocktail, bang bang shrimp and calamari and enjoyed them. Still a great place for food and drinks! read more

Food is traditional pub food. The ambience is so unique and cozy in an historical location. However, the true charm to this place is the waitress named Mary Jo. She is just perfect! She shares great details about each menu item and throws in trivia about this vintage treasure of a restaurant. A reminder that food and ambience are important to our overall enjoyment, but the personal touch of an attentive waitress upscales the entire experience! Greeted very warmly and the place has a really cool atmosphere! Apps were delicious (calamari and spinach artichoke flatbread), and our dishes were good as well. Shoestring home cut fries were greasy and delicious. Husband liked his shrimp wrap, and my sweet and spicy chicken salad was ok, I only wish I had asked for sauce on side. The sauce was spicier than I expected and the sauce was heavy, drowning my fragile spring mix. Overall, a good meal, good price and great venue, with fireplaces to warm up alongside. read more

First I gave three stars because omg the amount you get is amazing. That's crazy. I got it delivered. But I will say this is soooooo bland I was so excited for this because of the ingredients it has and everything made it sound like crazy good. But it's off. Something isn't right. It's like tasting soaked cooked spinach. It's legit bland. It is really missing something to make the flavors be there. So upset. I was very excited. I hope you change the recipe to make the flavors stand out more. I tried different chips. Salt and pepper. And nothing made it pop. Again amazing portions!!! If you are looking for a good food, great service, a clean and friendly atmosphere this place is high on my list of recommendations. We went for dinner with friends yesterday. It was great. As good as it gets, especially in Watertown, NY..... Don't get me wrong it was good, there was just the lack of a good bar scene and then there is this hidden GEM. The bartenders were very nice and made great drinks. I think I bought at least 4 rounds for a bunch of nice ladies and my buddies and the bills was less then a single round in Los Angeles... Ether way, the picture I posted up of the ambulance was one of the nice young ladies I was talking to... guess all the rounds was a bad ideal... There was a nice mixed crowd, mostly nice people. It's a great dimly lit cozy place..but for people watching it's a must if your in Watertown (keep a sense of humor). There are professionals who venture in here, but the scene is pretty funny. Came to this place Pre Covid and I thought it was neat. It's getting two stars today because Pre Covid I thought it was cool (I am not from here). Now to today their "Pride" celebration....I go to order a drink and yes it was busy BUT I was literally in front of the bar and hard to miss. I was patient and let a couple of people get their drinks before me (I could have been aggressive and said ummm no I was here for a good 5 minutes before you got here but I waited it for it to clear out a bit as I was still in front of the bar). Then a lady comes right next to me when the bar cleared and the bartender does not make contact at all with me and asks the lady next to me what she wanted to drink and the lady said I was there before her. If she didn't say that I would I have probably still been standing there. I also had to tell him ummm no I've been waiting here. This was after I tried to get his attention twice prior. I only stayed there to support a local business BUT thanks to the bartender I will not be back again. read more

Strongly advise using cash, not starting a tab. I haven't lived there in 15 years, but was back in my hometown for a family member's milestone birthday on 11/3/18. We came here after because they really like the band that was playing there for the first time. The band was great, but I was warned by two different people after buying a round to check my tab when I closed out later, apparently they have a reputation for running it up. I noticed they were doing handwritten tabs and hanging them up...I was also warned one of the bartenders has serious "big fish in a small pond" syndrome and is really unpleasant, and he was pointed out to me. Ok, I'm in my late 30's, go out all the time for the last 20 years, not my first rodeo, didn't go to him and I knew what I ordered. I even told them my full name for each round and that it was a Chase card for my tab to help them out since it was busy. Fast forward to later and I ask for my tab, and it's not itemized, just the total on the receipt, and it's absurd. I let the bartenders know, and they couldn't provide an itemized receipt when I asked for one. The guy simply says "It's right." I couldn't even get the hand written one to see where the discrepancy was. I don't think that's legal? At the end of 2018 what restaurant or bar can't show what they're charging you with when told there's mistakes with the total? They said there were multiple people there with the same last name with tabs, and were rude about it. I reminded them I gave my full name and the name of the bank on my card each time. Obviously it's not the first bar in history that has had multiple people with the same last name either, and no one else in our group had light tabs compared to their order, so that wasn't a case of mistaken identity. I let them know that unless Watertown has prices well past what I'm used to paying in NYC cocktail bars and restuarants, there was absolutely no way my tab was anywhere close to correct. It wasn't even close. They weren't budging, it was late and my group was leaving, so I had to sign to get my card back, told them I would be disputing the charges, and didn't leave a tip...when I usually leave over 20% everywhere. I called Chase the following Monday morning to dispute the extra charges, and had to estimate what the tab should have legitimately been since they refused to give an itemized one. I've been with Chase nearly 20 years, and this was the first time I've ever had to dispute charges at a bar, and the extra charges were reversed. Long story short, their reputation is most definitely deserved for running up tabs in my anecdotal experience. Hand writing tabs instead of using a digital POS and then not giving customers itemized receipts is just asking for fraudulent charges, hoping people just sign for them after drinking. Might as well just throw at a dartboard to make up the total. I was warned and it still happened to me only being there one night, beware. read more

The place is beautiful -- I grew up in Watertown and moved away and am so pleased they've finally built a beautiful bar with comfortable seats and a working fireplace. As the other reviews say, the GIs don't go here which is nice as we started the night at Tilted Kilt where my friend and I felt like dog meat. However. The bartender. I'm not convinced that she knows how to mix a cocktail. When I ask for a martini with a twist that means there shouldn't be any olives near it. I'm also not convinced she likes working in the only decent bar in town as she seems to hate life in general. When I pay for a good drink, I'm paying for the drink and the service and the service here? Quite frankly: it sucks. As do the drinks. There was maybe 3 other people in the bar and it took a good 20 minutes to get our second round. The other reviews say the owner is a great bartender and I'd like to get there on a night when he is serving. The cocktail menu is extensive, but would be better with more classic drinks on it. We stopped here after my 10 year class reunion in August. I grew up in Watertown and visit 3-4 times a year, but had never been to Paddock before. I am so glad we tagged along because it was great! I'm sure the fact that I was surrounded by classmates helped, but the place has a great vibe and the decor is fab. It was hella crowded, but we still managed to get our drinks pretty quick (we were only drinking draft beer, so cocktails may have taken longer). And since its gay-friendly, my fiancee and I felt perfectly comfortable being ourselves. I look forward to going back with friends when its a little calmer and get a better sense of the usual ambiance. read more

I love it here on an off night. It's just got great decor and ambiance. There are separate rooms with lots of furniture for lounging. The crowd during the week is a little older which is cool with me, no loud drunken shenanigans. I think of their patrons to be the more worldly and cultured type wearing pencil skirts and neckties. It's a little classier than your average bar. Especially in Watertown. Nice outdoor area with a porch and tables for smoking or chilling. I also found myself here on New Years. I am chalking that experience to the fact that it was New Years. Obviously GI's everywhere, loud, sloppy people. Just don't go here in New Years and you're fine. read more

Order take out through grubhub. Order a 2liter soda, it was flat and outdated by almost a year. The nachos were stale and probably also old. The fries were alright but very greasy, the fish was rubbery so I am assuming was old. No tartar sauce was delivered with the fish. Coleslaw was also terrible. read more

This is a fantastic place for Ladies' Night. The drinks are delish & the bartenders are great. They also host the Uncorked Canvas art classes which is a great ladies night. The owners are a blast. My favorites are the pink lady Martini & the chicken dip. read more

Nice night club when the time comes but it has a weird hard on for techno music. Other then that the drinks are decent despite the ridiculous amount of ice they use to cheat you out of at least half a drink. 3 different rooms with different music so that's cool but they need more then one bathroom since the crowds get so big. read more

Good food, we had shrimp, burgers and pizza. Wonderful atmosphere, it's very cozy but clean. Great place to go out. The bartenders are amazing. The drinks are yummy, you must try the martinis. They don't tolerate creepy people bothering you; you are able to enjoy your night out. They have good bands and good DJs. I haven't been there on karaoke but I definitely want to try. read more

This is the only hopping place in Watertown. Every other bar in the area is very divey. This place always has the best music playing and has the best ambience and atmosphere. I love sitting by the fireplace with friends having a few drinks. Although I've been to this bar/club a few times, ive only recently discovered how cheap the drinks are while still having a fair amount of alcohol in them. After consuming three or four shots and three or four mixed drinks, I had a tab of only twenty-four dollars. read more
