House Specialty Potato Soup Really good and tasted house made
    Christina R.

So, finding a place to eat where we weren't jerks for coming in at 830PM when they close at 9 was kind of hard. We didn't mean to eat so late but they way our schedules were, it was a must. What turned us on to coming to The Page was the fact that they close at 10PM and that we knew where it was (we ate breakfast next door earlier in the day.) We walk in at 830 and I immediately feel like this was a mistake. Sure there were others in here but it seemed like they were winding down. The first thing our server said to us was that she really wanted to go home. Which makes sense because not only was she pretty pregnant but she this was her second shift of the day. Luckily, I felt a bit better when another couple rolled in 15 minutes after us. It seemed as if the staff was leaving because a lot of them were either eating at the bar or screaming at each other (not mean, just across the room kind of stuff) about how they were leaving and how they couldn't wait to get out of there. it was like a scene out of Waiting. The best part of this restaurant was that they were bussing tables. I don't know if it was because they were all trying to leave or because this is how service is set but let me tell you I super appreciate not having to walk through old food and dirty dishes, watching flies circle hungrily. The portions and the price here were amazing. I mean we spent about $50 for the two of us. In Las Vegas, it would have been $50 EACH at least for a steak meal. While the food wasn't something I'd write home about, it fed us and it didn't taste bad so we were happy. As a matter of fact, the portions were so large we decided to stop eating out for breakfast, bought some eggs and had steaks and eggs in our hotel kitchen. Potato soup seemed house made as it was a bit grainy (like a roux would make it) but it was super tasty. The white gravy for the mashed potatoes was a bit stiff so we didn't eat it but those potatoes made a good patty fried up with my scrambled eggs the next morning. The steaks weren't exactly cooked to my liking but they again were good the next day with eggs. A good place to get palatable food later later in the evening.

Could not be happier that we came in here after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant is clean, quiet and comfortable. We sat at the bar and Paxtin was wonderful! She made good drinks and was attentive and friendly. When we told her my husband's birthday was a few days ago and the restaurant we went to wasn't great so we didn't order dessert she made sure the cheesecake we ordered was special. We weren't super hungry so we ordered pizzas. They were excellent! In the area for 2 more nights. Definitely coming back!

I would comment on the food. BUT I DON'T EVEN HAVE A GLASS OF WATER YET! Been seated for 25 minutes and don't even have a glass of water.

Fantastic food, but service is hit and miss. It is actually in the same building as Perkins and the signs say "The Page American Bistro."

Will never eat there again... If your not a 'regular' then you get ignored. Can't believe they treated a veteran like that... The obviously young woman who was 'bar tending' was more interested in watching tv than working. The woman cooking doesn't know how to cook... Went in when it was dead and no one in there, got ignored for 20 minutes before someone took our order. It took them 1 hour to cook our order and make it wrong. Fried mushrooms were still frozen, sweet potatoe fries were so burnt they were black, hamburger was burned... Buns were stale... As we waited on our food more people came in and were acknowledged as regulars... They sat down and ordered and within 15 minutes they were eating while we waited. The cook and bar tender forgot we were there... Worst service ever! Service - 0 stars Food - 0 stars Atmosphere - 1/2 star Customer service - 0 stars Overall rating: .5 stars Only reason they stay open is because they are the only place open on the weekend serving dinner other than pizza hut and gambino' pizza. I'd rather take a chance eating at gambino's pizza and risk my health because at least you know what to expect from their consistently dirty establishment and stale food.

I'll be honest: Russell, Kansas, was not on my mental map of places to eat well. But fate (and…read moreYelp) intervened. Suddenly we were pushing open the door to Waudby's entering, notably, through the bar side, which felt charmingly unpretentious in a you-wouldn't-get-this-in-Manhattan sort of way. The space splits cleanly between lively bar energy and a quieter, separate dining room, which I deeply appreciated after hours on the road and approximately twelve internal monologues. Then, the food. Genuinely outstanding. I ordered the Philly, fully expecting road-trip decent, and instead received something delightful, indulgent, and as good as versions I've had in Pennsylvania neighborhoods where people argue loudly over sandwiches. But the true sleeper hit? The cornballs. Please, I beg you, do not pass on them. They are crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The kind of globs of fried bliss you'll still be thinking about once you're home pretending to only eat salads. Waudby's is proof excellent food exists far beyond city zips, and I would absolutely return. If I find myself in Russell again, this is a mandatory stop. The waitress and servers were absolute sweeties. My friend adds: the homemade ranch dressing was so good, you could almost drink it.

We watched the U.S. playing in the FIFA game here on our visit. The service was very good. Staff was wonderful.
