This office will leave you high and dry with no medication for weeks with zero care. They lie to you continuously on the phone and the pain doctor doesn't gaf about you whatsoever. I do not recommend them if you actually need your medication for long term pain management. read more

1 Star Review I've been a patient at The Pain Center of Arizona at both the North Scottsdale and Deer Valley locations. Both are poorly managed, with no clear leadership or accountability. Appointments, prescriptions, and insurance approvals are a constant battle. Prior authorizations are routinely mishandled, forcing me to pay out of pocket because the office fails to follow through. Responses often take 15-20 days, and I've had to go in person just to get basic issues addressed. Most concerning, after my fourth back surgery, the office forgot I had surgery and had no pain management plan in place. Most recently, I went to the North Scottsdale office to speak with management, only to be scheduled for a 2:45 PM TeleMed appointment that never happened. When I followed up hours later, I was told "providers sometimes run late." A missed TeleMed appointment by several hours is unacceptable. High staff turnover, overwhelmed providers, and a clear focus on billing over patient care. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Type of care: depends on the provider. Care quality: same as provider. Office experience: deer Valley office provide better service than surgerical center on 101 and Thomas Ave. Deer Valley office staff are better experienced with positive answers than the surgical center. Some providers are more caring, better attitude and positive services on both care quality and type of care. There was a poor communications between me, office staff, nurse and doctor that confused my prescription. read more

Always a great experience. The staff is so helpful and nice. When you are dealing with chronic pain and end up having to see them once a month it makes all the difference in the world! They really go out of their way to help and find treatments that are best for you as an individual. I have nothing but love for all their staff there! Been a patient here for 2 years treated for bad Cervical Stenosis had received treatments RFA and other procedures. I have recently had the worst unprofessional experience from the desk staff attempting to get an appointment for retreating of a RFA procedure. They needed a referral from my primary care physician it was sent 3 times only to find out it was not being received. My primary care called and verified the fax number and email addresses several times so it's being sent properly. My appointment has been canceled and rescheduled 2 times. It's been at least a month of this crazy back and forth. Getting referred somewhere else seems like folks at the Pain Center just don't care would not recommend this place to anyone read more

I would like to expand and update these comments, regarding the Deer Valley complex, after meeting with my new PA-C, Christopher Smreczak and his frequent assistant, Bressa. This facility is always clean and presentable, with a very competent front-end staffers in place. The recent experiences I have been fortunate to have had with these members of the practice, have allowed me to resume a full and enjoyable life and allow me to continue my Volunteer Work with the Game and Fish department, with much less pain in my life. The personal that work in Triage and Billing (Tammy) always are available to schedule appointments, procedures, and address any issues that may arise. The combination of procedures and medications are a "blessing" in my day-to-day existence. My time is just as important as anyone! The staff treat me with respect and are genuinely concerned about my health and making sure they don't waste my time, as well as granting me the time I need. Sometimes I am in and out in a few minutes, sometimes I need more time and they always accommodate me. Such respect!! I would highly recommend them to all of my family and friends who are in need of caring pain relief. I don't give 5 stars, but if I gave them anything but 5 stars it would be an injustice. I have been going to the pain center every single mo for yrs . I started at Paradise valley. But now all I can do is go back and forth to each clinic to whichever appointment is available 30 days out.I had many procedures many injections a stimulator put in my back. due to so much back pain damage. Dr Siwek did a good operation. At the same time my knees have been botched by tkr surgeries and they have been trying to get those under control. again for years. But lately every appointment I go to is with a different provider. I can never get in to see the same one twice. I feel like I'm going over my whole history each time every month. Each provider seems to have a different suggestion on what we do for my pain. Or some just say let's wait and see how you feel next month. If just one person would read my chart and listen to me they would know how I suffer how my quality of life is gone how my depression is just overtaken my life. I don't believe that any one of them care. I use to love going to see Jennifer Diaz who is so compassionate, sincere and took time with me. I had a shoulder injection by Dr Siwek who was in my room and out in under 1 minute. that made my head spin in confusion I felt like cattle. But yesterday finished me off with them. I had many severe pain issues to go into my appointment with. My legs and feet have turned numb with needles hurting me. 24/7 pain. My ins sent a denial letter to me for trying a new procedure the provider suggested for nerve damage that we were going to try. My appointment was for a 11:45 check-in. I got there at 11:30. And to my shock the receptionist said" oh your appointment has been canceled." What? it took me 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to that front desk with every step I took in pain. I said what are you talking about? She said "oh your provider is sick" (I won't mention any name. I understand that). but they would not let me see another provider. I drove from Black Canyon City to deer valley. now had to turn around and drive back? I said it was unacceptable and I wanted to see someone. she told me that there was nobody available I said why didn't you let me know before I left my home you had the whole morning. she said it shows someone called and left you a message. that was such a lie I showed her my voicemail. there was nothing sent to me that morning. so when that didn't work she said well you should have checked your patient portal that a message was sent out at 6:00 a.m. . are you kidding me I've never been on that portal in 3 years. and all of sudden I'm supposed to check it for every appointment. That's new news to me. I always get recorded phone calls from them wanting me to confirm I'll be there. Can't they give me the same courtesy. I just stood there in tears trying to explain my situation that I couldn't walk on my feet. but it didn't matter . She asked if I wanted to reschedule? Are you kidding me. I'm at your mercy again unfortunately. yes I'm on a contract for pain medication. I have to come back. I walked out to my car every step in pain. I sat there and I cried. before I could even drive away I had to regain my composure. So they didn't just leave me hurting , they left me shattered. Who does something like that? I have to go to the emergency room today. How could you do someone this way that relies on you to keep them out of pain. I've done everything that you've asked me to. thanks pain center read more

Dr Siwek is wonderful! He's helped my pain level everytime I see him for my procedures for my neck and back and also my hips. He's also attentive, kind and caring. I suffer from chronic back pain and cannot take OTC pain meds, I was referred there by my PCP and was told that it would not be a big deal, it was what my doctor was being forced to do. You are told nothing about the requirements and things you are forced to do including drug tests. While having forms available online to fill out they hide the "contract" until you walk in and are shoved the forms and are told to sign them before you can be seen, with no time to get explanations of what they are and what you are agreeing too. Their attitude after that while they start listing all the things you cannot do makes you feel like you are a criminal in a half-way house. Be careful - read EVERYTHING before signing - walk out if you do not agree to the terms. read more

I have had lower back pain for five years now. They have managed it with injections. Dr Todd Turley MD is an experienced dr who does thousands of procedures and they sometimes work and sometimes don't have as long as effects as I would like but that was due to my weight. They handle all pain types. Their staff and FNP-C people know what they are doing. I highly recommend them. read more

I really hate to leave a bad review unless i'm certain that this place and the doctor deserve it. so i was late a few minutes for my appointment that i requested month ago and Dr. Alpana Saini decide to reschedule my app time so she can go have lunch. so i guess it's my fault for being late 5 min. however i have waited to be seen 30 min past my app time many times and i never complained not one time. it's not fair to be treated like this and for me to take time off to go and schedule injection for my back. i have asked for discharge paper and i'm no longer coming back here. Left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. One visit I was told this procedure was my only option, the following visit clueless to what's going on and when asked they replied that procedure in no longer an option. Mass confusion is the only way I can describe this place. Today I go in for another visit to have a procedure done and to no surprise they were again not on the same page. Front desk was nice and prep nurses... horrible experience and staff handles horribly too. Sent me home post procedure in horrible state, literally trying to schedule for more injections, then pushing me into car while I was dry heaving, pale, clammy... didn't even follow up that day. Then, within a crazy short amount of time, days after our invoice, it had already been sent to collections and they wouldn't rake a payment. Every time I come here they make me wait way over an hour ! I've been here an hour and a half and have yet to see a Dr! The check in nurse was rude as always ( sad part it's always a new person to be rude to you ) she let me know she didn't need to know details all she wanted was yes or no answers and she wanted to Breeze in and out! She asked if I had recent scans I said yes and we had went over the results and I was still waiting to get referred to see a surgeon ( btw it's been a good 4 months ) she told me go see one then it's your body do whatever you want! I make these early appointments cause I work but yeah still sitting here working on the 2 hour mark They want to do nerve burning and steroid shots and when you tell them no they threaten to take away all medications they prescribe for you It's all about how can they make the most money not at all how can they help the person it's disgusting ! I have been going to the pain center for over 5 years my doctor Richard and dr. Turley are amazing. Richard is a NP and gives me the utmost personalized service and always is on time. Dr. Turley handles my migraines and is the best at giving me my Botox and my steroid injections I could not ask for better doctors! I did have some hiccups with their staff but they have cleared that up and it has been nothing but smooth sailing since they fixed it. I would highly recommend them. I recently had to call three separate times to get my new insurance set up and they still had to call me back because they got it wrong. This place is getting better. I was a patient years ago and I left to try to seek alternative treatment, two years later I returned. I have been treated very well and the NP I saw really listened to my concerns and frustrations about my CRPS. She suggested a new option to try and told me if that doesn't work we will try something else. There was an issue with my prescription due to Arizona laws (Punishing Chronic Pain patients because of illegal users and addicts) and they were right on top of fixing the prescription for me. The front office girl is very nice and pleasant both times I have come in and the staff in the back is very friendly as well. They cannot control certain regulations that are placed on them and I imagine some of the people leaving poor reviews are frustrated about not getting help for their pain, which I understand but I am sure their hands are tied in some respect. Another thing I like is that unlike MANY medical offices, they actually respond when you contact them through the patient portal. read more

For ten years I suffered from intense pain high up in my rectum and in my left lower groin area after bearing down to have a bowel movement for which doctors couldn't find an explanation for and for ten years I was treated like a drug addict and a malingerer. Being told it was all in my head and that I "was just constipated". Fortunately, my pain management doctors believed me and stood by me all those years until finally a colorectal surgeon found out that the last part of my intestine where it connects to my rectal pouch was falling and folding up onto itself whenever I beard down. I was diagnosed with an enterocele and after the surgery was finally pain-free. Unfortunately I'm needing to return to Pain Management after being pain free for over 4 years so I chose TPC-Arcadia Office in Phoenix and saw Dr. Doust. What surprised me the most was how easy and quickly I was able to be seen. Gone are the days when you had to wait a good 2 months before you could get an initial appointment but they actually called me the same week that my PCP made the referral. The waiting room was very comfortable and right away I noticed they have a patient portal system where I can communicate and pay my copays online. While in the waiting room I had visions of my previous days with pain management when you'd be stuck waiting sometimes 2-3 hours just to be seen, but not here, nope. I was taken back within 15 minutes of checking in and the Medical Assistant didn't just do my vitals, she actually went through a pretty extensive evaluation of health questions and was thorough and quick in getting all the important information the doctor would need in order to treat me. Finally, I got to meet Dr.Doust and he was so patient in hearing my story and reassured me that he would get my pain under control but that I needed to go through an entirely new re-evaluation. He actually took the time to get to know me not just as a patient, but as a person too. In other words, He saw not just how my condition was affecting me medically but how it was affecting me emotionally as well, which is not something most doctors take the time to do with their patients. I was a bit disappointed when I didn't get a prescription for pain meds on my first visit and was told that I needed to have a new MRI done of my spine first and that he wanted to review more of my medical records in order to get a proper diagnosis regarding my GI symptoms too. Because of the long term treatment I had in the past with opiate pain medications I now have intestines that have been significantly and permanently damaged beyond repair and I suffer from bouts of severe diarrhea and uncontrollable vomiting that lasts for days on end. So I'm praying that first of all I'm not put on LARGE doses and ball&chained to a DAILY regimen of narcotics and secondly that I don't end up on their 10 year plan.He he lol TPC Arcadia staff and Dr. Doust are so far a 5/5for my first visit and I look forward to my next appointment. read more

Claim to be compassionate and caring, All they try to do is peddle service after service under the guise that is what you need, as long as you keep buying they keep you around. Eventually they will even try to sell you a service you already tried and did not work, they say this is an upgrade this one is better. once I refused, they told me they would no longer provide any more care for me. I was a patient for 2 years straight. It took me a couple different appointments to find the correct doctor that worked well with me and whom I generally believed had an interest in helping me. She was phenomenal. 2 years without issue. She informed me that she was no longer going to be working at this location at the end and gave me some referrals. My very last appointment there was with a nurse practitioner. This Nurse Practitioner looked into my record and right off the bat accused me of not taking medications properly. What she failed to realize is that the month prior, I had requested from my normal doctor to be taken off of one medication to see if I could start the reduction process and I was hoping I could reduce pain management. The NP accused me of abusing the system because my previous drug test did not show this medication. Of course it didn't show it! I hadn't been prescribed it the previous time. She quickly got so insanely hostile, then walked out of the room on me. I thought the appointment was over. I left and grabbed my self discharge. The NP then proceeded to smear my record with falsehoods. She wrote I had been inappropriate to employees which is a complete fabrication of the truth and that I refused to take a drug test this time. Its a little difficult to swallow that considering she ended the appointment by abruptly walking out of the office on me as she was yelling. I reached out to their patient relations department, nothing but rude. They would provide me with no actual information other than the NP wasn't willing to hear my side of the story after some time had passed(I figured time would help cool the situation down). Marianne and Janet were rude. I had my general practitioners office call as well. We got no where. It makes sense that I got no where as they didn't care to listen to the actual facts of the situation. Alas, what everyone should know... if you feel you have been wronged, you can get in contact with the Arizona Medical Board or Arizona Nursing board and file a complaint. I have contacted the AZ Nursing board, provided them with both my drug test records and pharmacy records. An investigation will begin shortly and they have advised me to hire a lawyer. Luckily I have a fantastic lawyer. I must do this because I am getting denied healthcare now at any place I call. Do not be a victim if you have done nothing wrong. Fight back. I do not know what the outcome of this will be, however, if I had my way, she would be stripped from her license and never practice medicine again. To think, all of this could have been avoided had they simply demonstrated a level of decency and communication. No one likes to go as far as this has gone, no one wants to ruin another's livelihood. When it comes to my livelihood and theirs, when I am not in the wrong, you better bet on the fact that I will fight it until I die. read more

Dr. Turley and all his staff at The Pain Center are amazing and I can't say anymore great stuff about them!! All the providers try to find solutions to your pain problems and got me back to doing things I love. While The Pain Center is more conservative, it is appreciated as I was looking for other alternatives to pain management other than just pain medication. The back office staff are awesome and everyone there seems to know your name which makes the experience more personal. I recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

Its a beautiful building. However, they really messed my neck up. They burned the nerves from C2-C5 simple procedure I thought. I had nice relief for about a month and then the horrible pains in the left side of my head started. They actually said "Oh you just had headaches before, but your neck pain was so bad and now that we fixed your neck, your are feeling the head pain that was there all along" YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!! I never had more than a minor once in a while headache my entire life. Trying to resolve for over a year is a NIGHTMARE GO ROUND. You get the same customer rep.woman to argue with you and try to smooth things over. I AM IN HORRIBLE PAIN. JUST GOT HOME FROM ER RIGHT DOWM THE ROAD FROM THE PAIN CENTER.
