I've been coming to this location for a while now. The staff is great. I feel like my time is valued. My visits are quick but concise. I've worked with two providers so far. Both have been great and very knowledgeable. I see the same provider for every visit unless it's a procedure. I feel like this is important. I've been to other locations this is not the case and it's very impersonal and difficult to build rapport. I was only changed providers when my first provider moved. If I have questions they are answered in full. If I want to try something different with my care my doctors are either willing to try or explain why they think it may or may not be a good idea. I feel like they are working with me and not working on me. I don't feel like I'm treated like a criminal, which if you've worked with poor quality pain management you know what I'm talking about. I'm treated like an actual person with real physical problems because I am. I highly recommend The Pain Center of Arizona. read more

Severe neck and back pain. 2 years of doctor visits and 8 WEEKS of state insurance required physical therapy. Finally got a referral here and was told they needed to get an MRI to be able to provide higher level pain management. Was promised a celebrex prescription for pain in the meantime. Never got the prescription. Waited months to be told that 6 MORE WEEKS of PT is required before an MRI appointment is even considered. Also put my partner in my paperwork as an authorized contact, but they refuse to speak to them anyway, claiming they aren't in my paperwork. Months upon months of time and hundreds of dollars on gas wasted just to be put back to square zero with treatment. read more

Very disappointed in this location! My husband had an appointment this morning at 730. He took the day off work. He left home at 6:10 to arrive in time for his appointment. We live in the out skirts of town. When he arrived he was told that they were short staffed and unable to see him for his visit. This is bull Shit!!! A courtesy call would have been except able! Wish I had gone with him I wouldn't let this happen!! Get your act together!!! Never go back to this location. I understand why they are rated at 3! If you don't like your job get another one!!!! Don't even think of having a pain problem in front of staff. they will discharge you without a prescription. they don't care if you will have pain or go into withdrawal. i have been apain patient for more rthan 20 years. incredibly bad scoliocis. three back surgeries(2 of them 12hrs each), lyme disease twice. i am also on oxygen, have copd,have had breast cancer, and multiple mouth surgeries. remember don't have a pain melt down. there is no empathy there. only ridicule and a discharge!!!! i have never had a problem untill 4 months ago when my doctor retired and i was transaferred to a nurse practioner. i've learned many things in this town but the main thing is that tucson is very toxic!!!!! read more

We're into 2024 now & over the past year, things have much improved! The quality of care that I receive from P.A. Hair in particular, is outstanding!! We've been on the same page as it relates to dispense dates for my meds, as well as how to deal with the Ohio BWC. COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!! Also, I've learned the hard way that one HAS to be one's own best advocate! If something isn't right, speak up!!! If something needs to be changed or tweaked, speak up!!! Oh gosh, where do I start...! - Appointment line/customer service line is always busy, no one ever picks up the line. And when you leave a message for a call back, they always fail to do so. - The referral department is incompetent with Tricare referrals! Instead of calling the insurance company, to figure out what they're doing wrong.. they totally just put it aside! It took me 2 months to get an MRI referral approved because of their inability to their job! - currently writing a review, while waiting in the customer lobby... and was just notified that the provider is running 1 hour late! So instead calling and notifying patients of this.... We get told as we check in! Absolutely poorly ran establishment! Unable to contact the provider problems getting the medication that's prescribed. When you contact their office, you can at least expect two hours on hold. One hour on hold to the main switchboard and then an additional hour on hold when you are transferred to the area that you need. read more

I went to the Pain Center for a few months after moving to Tucson and had nothing but bad experiences. Due to a chronic, non operable condition I been treated for pain for more than 20 years. I came to the pain center with medical records galore outlining my condition and the medication regimen I'd been on for years. Part of the reason for moving to Arizona was the availability of medical marijuana fot which I obtained a card for upon settling in Tucson. Upon my initial visit I was presented with a pain contract to sign. I informed the doctor I had my MMJ card so that marijuana was not an illegal substance for me. I was told that if I tested positive for marijuana use I would not be given any pain medication. I was then given a prescription for a much much smaller dose of pain medication than I normally take and told to come back in a month. He said if I still tested positive for marijuana I would be given no further meds The dosage given was not nearly enough to control my pain and I was forced to rely on marijuana to help get through the next month. When I returned to the Pain Center and tested positive again we argued and I got nowhere. I was told it would be futile to attempt to find a clinic that would allow me to use my legal marijuana and I left frustrated. Happily, the next clinic I tried had no problem with marijuana use so long as my MMJ card was up to date. In fact they treat me so well I rarely even need the marijuana any longer! Started out good and it went to worse can't believe that they stop seeing me because I owned money knowing that I am having serious pain in my hip went to go see my surgeon which scheduled me to surgery December 7 Dr. Donald Harris drop my contract because my surgeon had prescribe me medication and surgeon referred me to another Pain clinic The reviews that I got from them to the other place was like if I was a drug attic the doctors there were no difference at the Pima pain Center I would not recommend no one even my primary doctor was the worst too I hope and pray that God helps you guys in your journey in life to have a person suffer for so many months like I am is uncalled for so that's how I feel read more

I was here for three years. The last year and a half, I felt like I was forced to stay so I could get certain procedures. The front desk staff are very nice and Dr. Siwek is very good at giving injections. And that is about the only nice things can say about the place. Appointment wait time regularly last two to four hours. Medications are always counted, as though you are a child. My treatment plan was inconsistent and I would regularly go without pain medication while they processed the "preauthorization". The only time the doctor was seen was when a procedure was scheduled, otherwise you can only see one of two PAs. read more

The doctor's and NPs are very good but the staff is not. They don't enforce their mask policy..I saw 4 separate people in the office unmasked at one time, the techs don't know how to take a blood pressure correctly, and the front desk staff allows patients inside with no mask. read more

If you really need help and are in pain you need to avoid this place like the plague.Went in with tons of records from California and Texas and needed to continue my therapy and medication and they told me I needed to start completely over with tests , xrays etc. PA, Donald Hair, refused to fill the pain meds I have been on for years, and then suggested a pain cream that Will take 2 weeks to get, would not fill my regular meds and then gives me an appointment a month away with no other help. He didn't listen, was definitely not compassionate or caring. After my appointment, my mother who was with me, asked to speak privately with Mr Hair and was told he had left and surprise, on the way to the restroom, I saw him in the back. Calling this a pain clinic is a joke, a waste of time if you need real help. My opinion, theyre just churning the insurance comp. Like I said in the beginning, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED REAL HELP. read more

I was referred to this place by my primary physician back in September of 2016 by the time everything went through I was able to get an appointment in January of 2017, like all the other reviews it takes forever to get an appointment, and if you have a question between appointments forget getting any answers if you call you get a voice mail which states someone will get back to you in 24-48 hours, or go to the patient portal and leave a message there which also states that someone will get back to you in 24-48 hours, they don't really give you any type of pain medication, they do want you to get injections but you can only get so may so do physical therapy but you have to have a referral first good luck getting that, I was sent to them because I went through physical therapy already, the injections helped for a little while, my biggest issue is that you have to wait weeks to find anything out. read more

Terrible "Pain Clinic" Don't want to do anything other than decrease your medications & inject you with needless shots that don't work for CHRONIC PAIN. This is not a place for patients suffering with 24-7/365 chronic pain, this is a place for people who can live off injections that work 5 days max. Go elsewhere. Terrible. You only see an actual Dr. on your 1st visit & when they give you the needless injections. The VA was going to pay for treatment here. (I've only been waiting 2 years) The first appointment was for a consultation, they were to get back with me within 2 weeks for treatment. @ weeks came and went, so I called, and called, faxed in the VA authorization 2 times, took it in personally 1 time and the receptionist faxed it to the Phoenix office. 2 Months went by they finally called with an appointment that was going to be 2 weeks before the VA authorization would expire. The day before the appointment they called and said that because I had other insurance they would not cover it with the VA and I would have to call my insurance company for authorization. I called the VA, the VA said Bull S*** they were going to cover it, I also called the insurance company, they said it would take 20 - 30 days for approval. Bottom line I have been in pain for so long and just turned 62 , having got tired of waiting for both the VA and private insurance companies telling me to wait till it gets worse, I simply retired on March 5th. Which was easier than working in pain every day. I was told that without the permission from my insurance company (which would run out in 1 week) that I would have to pay out of pocket. Wait a minute (Wasn't the VA going to cover this) Talk about poor customer service, it took 2 months to schedule for the procedure after the initial visit, they ran out of time for the VA authorization to pay, failed to call my insurance company 2 months sooner for authorization, then wanted me to pay out of pocket. i've been on pain medication almost 20 years and when i moved to tucson i went to this office. i came with a rx for a medication for vicodin that i had been on for over 4 years..6 times a day-the dr refused to give me the same and said that their clinic policy max was 4 a day..i was also on morphine (er)_ 2 xs a day and they simply refused to refill it for me stating i needed to cut down on the drugs and suggested i have a series of injections/physical therapy--ALL of which i have had multiple times in the past 20 yrs...i also had my entire medical file with me, including 4 different sets of mri's.....after cutting my medication down and returning on my 2nd visit the PA suggested i have my nerves burned...soooo...i went through with the medication cut, more injections and more physical therapy...returned and they still refuse to give me any other sort of pain medication other than 5 mg vicodin-every 6 hours..which would be great i guess, if i had minimal pain but that's not the case..being that i have my entire medical file for 20 years-serious injuries to neck/back and they can see what medication i have been on (extended relief pain meds 2xs a day with breakthrough pain meds every 4hours) one would think that they would want to continue HELPING me to have a decent QUALITY of life by keeping me on medication that has worked for the past 20 years...never failed a drug test..never miss an appointment ,aren't they a "pain clinic" or do they just want to shoot "pain med" into my body that doesn't work and charge my insurance company hundreds of $$ for that or "burn" my nerves? point being--if you are a "pain clinic" but you really don't want to prescribe medication that is scheduled how about letting your patients know...i'm sure we'd happily find another clinic that wants patients to live a decent quality of life with medication..not everyone on long term pain meds is a junkie or sells their pills..we just want to live life. i would not suggest this clinic if you are looking for anything other than a waste of time and the run around... read more
