Bobbie and Jemala delivered the pieces which are well made, 60+ years old and heavy as s--t! Everything was wrapped to protect it and placed perfectly up two flights of stairs! Once in place Bobbie polished each piece with care and spoke about the process he used to bring these pieces back to life. He applied just the right amount of matte, not too glossy. Just perfect. Once I was able to fill the pool and get the pump working I was looking at what looked like a green swamp. However, the very knowledgeable Lisa in the water testing department recommended a 3 day regimen of chemicals which, remarkably, had the pool more or less clean in three days. Honestly, I would never have believed it. She understands the chemistry and was spot on with the solution. Of course if I'd closed the pool properly last season...lol, but I didn't, and thanks to Lisa, and Ben and Omar I am up and running before June 1st. Thanks Royal Pools!

Very disappointing experience overall. I spent roughly $900 to have the control board replaced on…read moremy hot tub about nine months ago. Seven months later, they had to come back out and replace additional parts, which cost me another $1,100 over a couple of visits. Now, after all of that, I am being told the same control board they replaced nine months ago is bad again and that I need to spend another $900 to replace it. I understand warranties have time limits, but when a customer spends around $2,000 trying to get the same hot tub fixed, it is extremely frustrating to be told that a major part they recently installed has already failed and that the only option is to pay full price again. At some point, a company should stand behind its work, its diagnosis, and the parts it installs. I do want to be fair and say that Eniezer has been very professional and helpful from a customer service standpoint. My issue is not with him personally. He has been courteous and responsive. My problem is with the company's inability to properly fix the hot tub and back up the service they provided. Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using them for any major repair.

Nathan recently refinished the interior of our outdoor hot tub in which the original acrylic surface had begun to crack and flake off after 11 years. Since the hot tub's mechanical and electrical devices were in great shape, it only made economical sense to refinish the entire interior at one quarter the cost of replacing with a new hot tub, and eliminate a carbon footprint by not adding to the local landfill. Since the hot tub was located under a Pergola, the crew was able to set up a plastic enclosure to keep out airborne particles while completing the process from start to finish in just one day. Nathan admitted that this was one of the largest hot tubs he had worked on, but was able to develop a strategy that produced a quality finish I was very impressed with when it was completed. He returned a few days later to work a few spots that required some additional touchup, which I was forewarned about for projects like this that are done outdoors. When I first contacted Nathan's business about my requirements and detail of the hot tub's setup and composition, he asked many questions, like what type of water treatment did I use and did I know if all the Jets (62 of them) could be removed so all the hot tub's surface can be accessed - which they could. I was also walked through the entire process and the type of refinishing material that would be used for this type of project. I was afforded as much time as I needed to understand the details to the type of work being done, and they were very thorough with their responses to all my questions. The estimates for the project were spot on, and I have to say that Nathan and his crew provided me with a superior professional service for a project that was as complex as this one, and especially working with outdoor weather conditions that dictate a flexible working schedule. With the AMAZING finish, I expect another 11 years or more of pleasure from my hot tub which I use every single day of the year! read more

Don't be fooled by the glowing reviews. I had made an appointment with the owner, Nathan to have my bathtub reglazed. Because there is no window in the bathroom, I made sure that the glazer would have a fan and tubing to blow the excess paint spray out a near window When he arrived, and I asked about that, he said he didn't have it; instead, he would keep the door closed and blow the spray into a garbage can. The bathroom is tiny- under 30 sq. feet. If you deduct the space taken up by the bathtub, sink, and toilet, you are left with 5 sq. feet. A garbage can alone,lying on its side, would take up most of that, so you have to wonder where he would put the paint, spray equipment, and then where he would be able to work from- maybe sitting on the toilet. So I asked him to get the tubing, and I then called the owners so it could still be done the same day. Instead of apologizing and trying to correct the problem, they said I should get someone else. I had spent 2 hours removing everything visible from the bathroom that might be affected by the spray- and now have had to restore it so I can use - and then remove/restore it again once I get another contractor. The tub had also been reglazed before, and had several areas where that had deteriorated/ peeled off, and I had sent photos of it. I asked the worker if the scraping/ filing would result in a smooth surface, and he said "that was what they were aiming for"- a reply which does not inspire much confidence in the actual result he ripped me off read more

We have been restoring a turn of the century Victorian home near the Hudson River. Out tub had been re glazed once before and it was a disaster. The Paint Otter was our choice this time due to a nice web site, and a very professional contact who turned out to be the owner, Nathan. Well, the results were as follows: Neat working style, polite respect for our property, and the finished results were unbelievable! We waited the prescribed time to use the tub, and actually slept home that nite due to the way Nathan and his assistant Josh, took care of sealing the bathroom properly, and gave us specific instructions that we followed, and today, we could not stop admiring the work of "The Painted Otter". He guarantees the job for 5 years, and from the thickness of the glaze he used, and the quality of application, we doubt we will ever need him to come back unless we want to glaze another tub! I hired Nate and his crew to refinish a yucky old condo bathroom early in 2011. He appeared to be very sincere, with a sprinkling of sensitive and spiritual, so I was confident, of course, that he knew all about plumbing. Not. Long story short, they broke through to replace the wall where the plumbing was located and when the job was complete the taps wouldn't turn off. They denied responsibility but offered to fix the taps for an extra charge. But wait, there's more: A short time after they left, I went downstairs to find the kitchen ceiling sagging and dripping puddles of brown water onto the floor. The bathroom pipes had been quietly leaking into the dropped celing! When I notified Nate he again denied that Painted Otter had anything to do with the mess, but after much haranguing on my part, a pair of his relatives (father-in-law and wife, I think) did what was needed to stop the leaks. I just used The Painted Otter to refinish my kitchen counters and back splash plus a section of my cabinet that was impossible to keep clean. I had other estimates from local business but it takes to long for the kitchen to be put back to order and some prices were way out of line. The job that Nat and his worker did was wonderful. they had a big hose to remove the smell so I didn't get a migraine and we didn't have to stay over night at a hotel and there was none of the spray that stuck on my cabinets, stove or windows like we had 17 years ago using another company. The color that Nat suggested matched my cabinets and floor to a tee. Also Nat covered everything possible. Would I recommend this company to other people in the area? yes, yes, yes. I wish Nat would go to the home show at Orange County Community College coming up. He was very professional and protected everything and vented fumes outside. His bid was more than fair (it was half of our highest bid) and his crew was able to start the project quickly. Here's where it seems too good to be true- they showed up every morning early, worked until dark, left the job site neat and organized, and finished the job ahead of schedule. They did Sheetrock installation and repair, a bit of framing and painted walls, ceilings, closet doors and trim for us in our great room and a spare room conversion, and it all looks incredible.
