Grandma Nell's, to me, is more like a boutique (without the clothing), kind of upscale, where Riverfront Antiques is an actual antique store. If not a boutique maybe just a little bougie? There are a few antiques, but mostly a lot of new and already repurposed items... Nothing wrong with any of that... Just wasn't what I was looking for. While this stop wasn't exactly up my alley... This was by far my favorite stop of our July 4th weekend adventure. It was the one I bought the…read moremost at anyway... Lol The gentleman who was on staff Saturday is the son of the owner. Very personable and friendly. I had a great time just visiting with him even if I hadn't bought anything. The shop is an old Victorian style house (supposedly haunted...see pic of article from the Gateway). The first and second floors are laid out like a typical house. Each room showcasing a selection of merchandise. There are some locked cases on the first floor you will need to ask staff to unlock. Typical setup as any other antique shop. I found some old vintage pocket knives that had belonged to the current owner's husband that I was able to buy at a very reasonable price and a Keen Kutter pocket knife that was a little more expensive... There was a Keen Kutter Kutlery display case upstairs that I would have loved to have taken home... ! It was pretty big, we had no room, and it was $400. The selection of items here ranges from retro, some modern, to vintage or antique. Clothes, hard goods, some larger furniture, and a lot of smalls... You definitely get a kind of creepy vibe on the second floor, but not that much different than any other old home from that era... My maternal grandparents lived in a very similar house. The upstairs always seems strangely quiet to where you hear every creak and groan of the aging construction, you hear the wind when it's blowing, and the temp varies from downstairs and from room to room. We didn't meet "Helen"...and I'm okay with that.

She had such great ideas on what to do, and how to fix my yard. I am so very happy I came across this small business to completely change the look of my house. Without her idk what I would have done. The prices were better than comparable. They didn't have many reviews on here, and one was negative. In which I don't agree with. I didn't have the same experience as the last person. I just want everyone to know that gets stuck in a situation in which you don't know what to do. There's a company that won't sleep until you're happy.
