I had a great visit to this office in October. From the scheduling to the office check in, the team was friendly, communicative and attentive. Dr. Cerisa Moncayo and her entire staff are the epitome of quality care and exceptional service. They are so knowledgeable and honest, which I think is hard to find these days. It is clear from the moment you walk in that they are going to treat you like family. The doctor, hygienist, and assistants are all so soft handed, yet so thorough. Our family has had cleanings, fillings, and even a root canal done. They ensured each one of us was comfortable and each procedure was painless. The entire staff is amazing with my children. Highly recommend them! They took me in last minute and I wasn't a patient(yet). They are very knowledgeable and explain everything to you, as well as your options. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating and they have great high tech methods in doing procedures. Also, never mind the fact that they are very knowledgeable in what they are all doing. Ive had several appointments here , including a crown and root canal placed. I received great customer care from the front desk(jessica,ofm) which answered my many questions and was very good at her job, to the dental assistants and finally the dentist(Dr.Cerisa). Very thankful I was referred here from a good friend as I was in urgent need and experiencing a lot of pain from a wisdom tooth infection. I was told by a previous dentist that he could not extract my wisdom teeth due to the roots being on the nerve which would cause nerve damage. He recommended a different procedure and quoted me an outrageous price. That evening I was referred to Dr. Max Moncoya who's assistant reached out to be that evening to scheduled everything for the next morning and assured me they would be much more successful in helping me. The office is lovely which is a great benefit but I care most about the expertise and working with a dental office I feel i can trust and they are that. Dr. Max spoke to me and answered all my questions. He was very comforting and so was everyone else. Front desk is amazing as well. I worked with Jessica, Dr Carly and Dr Max. Post-op, I feel great! Extraction was done and the entire process was seamless. Pain is gone. Pain from extraction is very minimal as well so he knows what he is doing. Lucky to have been referred to them. I had seen this group a couple times. My insurance changed prior to my last visit, and the group was now considered out of network. I had them call my insurance and find out the cost. The Palisades Dentist told me that even though it was out of network, since it was a preventative care it would be covered in full. After I received my claim, it wasn't even close to being covered in full. I spoke with multiple people at the dental group and insurance company. Dental group did call insurance company, but was told it wouldn't be covered. In the end I had to pay all of the extra costs, because they lied to me about my insurance coverage. Even after all of this, I explained to the Dental group and they took not liability, nor did offer to help with the cost they promised would be covered. Liars! read more

I can not say enough about how great these folks are. My teeth were in bad shape, and I was in need of total replacement. I had been shopping around for weeks, and seen several dentists, including the ones you hear advertising constantly on the radio, and I was about to give up hope, when I finally went to The Palisades Dentists, and I knew right away I was in the right place. Dr. Moncayo took the time to go through all the options available to me, and what would be the best solution(s) to fit my budget, and what the pluses and minuses were for all the different solutions. Dr. Levine is amazing. When I first went to her, on a referral from a trusted friend, I was an anxious mess. I have a hard time at the dentist and usually just avoided it all together so naturally I needed a lot of work. Dr. Levine and her staff were so nice, accommodating and gentle. She explained everything to me and made sure my questions were answered. There are nice tv screens with Netflix on every chair which offered a nice distraction while she fixed my neglected teeth! My smile has never looked better now and I am no longer a ball of anxiety when I sit in the chair. I recently had the privilege of seeing and meeting Dr. Moncayo and was equally impressed. The Palisades Dentists do not tell you what the costs will be for any procedure BEFORE you get into the chair. They have you pay when you leave, no billing. You are in shock at the price, but don't want to make a scene, so be very careful. Ask, ask, ask what you will be paying. They have a husband and wife team who are there 5 days a week. He is the oral surgeon. They will direct you towards gum surgery (healthy gums make healthy teeth). The other dentist is only there 2 days a week. The office is beautiful. But the costs are high, so please get a second opinion before any surgery is suggested. read more

This review is long overdue! I must state The Palisades Dentist is by far the best dentist in the entire city! First of all, the place is spotless. ALL of the staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. Also, there are Ipads set up overhead in the chairs so, patients can watch their favorite shows while being drilled :) They even have a small fridge full of high-quality beverages in the waiting area. While all of the above is outstanding, there is nothing more outstanding at The Palisades Dentists than Dr. Cerisa Moncayo. As a fellow military veteran, I am thankful to have found Dr. Moncayo. I had an emergency broken tooth that required a crown and I did not have dental insurance. Dr. Moncayo made miracles happen from the first day I met her! She did an excellent job at making my broken tooth whole again with a brand new crown! She even went a step further and recommended me for more detailed work with another dentist. I love this practice and here's why... About 7 years ago Dr. Levine noticed I had a slight discoloration in two of my front teeth. She asked if I had any injury to those teeth in the past, which made me recall that I had injured my teeth when I was a brace face at 14 years old. Thankfully the braces saved my teeth from the impact, but that softball injury showed up about ten years later with the slightest discoloration in the two teeth, which only Dr. Levine had noticed. No prior dentist or hygienist had noticed this discoloration. So, she tested my teeth with ice and in fact those two teeth were dead. She referred me to a specialist that she worked with 7 years ago, and we all decided at that point there was no need to do any internal bleaching because the discoloration wasn't too noticeable. We watched it continue to discolor over the past 7 years, and a few years ago I received a quote from another specialist that wanted to charge me an arm and a leg with no guarantee the internal bleaching would be effective. I'm so glad I waited because Dr. Levine referred me to her partner Dr. Cerisa. Having the internal bleaching procedure performed by Dr. Cerisa was a great experience. Not only was the procedure way more affordable, but it was way more comfortable and tolerable as I was able watch Netflix the entire 90 minutes it took to do the two root canals in order to bleach the insides of the two teeth. Dr. Cerisa was so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable about the whole process. The office makes you feel like family. I love Ursula and Laura (the two hygienists), Dr. Cerisa and her assistant Sarai, who performed the root canals and internal bleaching procedure, Kristy, the office manager, and last but not least Dr. Levine, my dentist for the past 7 years and rest of my life. They're all such amazing people and make my experiences there enjoyable. If loving my dentist's practice is wrong, I don't want to be right. Not only do they offer the latest procedures using sophisticated technology, they bring to bear kindness and ethical conduct. Dr. Carly Levine did my INVISI-LINES to beautiful effect. Her hygienists make DENTAL CLEANING pleasant. (I'm not even lying.) Just days ago Dr. Max Moncayo performed GUM SURGERY to combat my recession. After having had a number gum grafts, I know the ropes. Even with the best surgeons, the recovery hurts: searing, burning pain for weeks. Also gum grafts have been a one-site-at-a-time proposition, meaning: multiple miserable recoveries. I am 8 days out from Dr. Max's procedure on multiple sites; even so, compared to gum grafting, this recovery has been a walk in the park. (I hereby declare gum grafts Medieval!) On top of everything, "Dr. Max" is plain bighearted. His caring follow-up has been nonpareil. Finally, yesterday in the office, I met Dr. Cerisa Moncayo. When asked about VENEERS, she studied my mouth, and said, "You're teeth are too beautiful. Don't." Yet another revelation: greater than bringing in dollars, the priority for this practice is my actual wellbeing. What integrity! Love them! read more
