My wedding is this weekend, and I could not thank Lara at the Papery enough for all the things she helped me with. I met her at a bridal show and set up and appointment with her as well as a few other local stationary stores. I went to one before The Papery, and thought that maybe I should have budgeted much higher for invitations. But at my appointment with Lara, I cancelled my other appointments at the other places and bought my invitations on the spot. Not only did they have great prices, but Lara was so knowledgeable on wording, etiquette, and elegance. She knew exactly what I wanted. I got so many compliments on my beautiful invitations! They even printed the addresses for me at a low additional cost. Thinking I would be done with The Papery, I kept going back for everything else! They did my welcome cards, ceremony programs, place cards, etc. Most of these were provided by my venue, but I wanted that extra special touch that Lara put into my invitations. After I get married, I am sure to go back to have Lara help me with my Thank You cards! All in all, I highly recommend them!! read more

What a lovely store and experience! My family and I were greeted with a smile and a kind face. We worked with Laura, the owner, to pick out my wedding invitations. She was patient, helpful, and all-around wonderful as my mom, pregnant sister, and myself went back and forth over books. She didn't try to sell us anything over our budget, push for us to get inserts we didn't need, and was just amazing. This is another one of those places that I wish we could have a zero-star option for. I've been here dozens of times in the two decades I've lived in the area, and each time, I hope that subsequent visits will go differently. They are, however, always the same. Below, a description of a typical trip to Papery... Enter store, two teenage girls at the register. 2-3 customers in the rest of the store. Sales girls are discussing boys or clothes or how much school sucks. Go up and ask a question, perhaps about whether or not they carry a particular item or maybe the price of something without a sticker, at which point they roll their eyes at you and tell you that they don't know before turning back to each other and resuming their conversation as if you don't exist. Exit store before doing anything rash. *end scene* Some variant of this has occurred every.single.time. I've gone into this store. I have now walked in there three times in the last 3 months to browse wedding invitations. Not once was I offered assistasnce. Not once did anyone acknowledge me even though I went up to the register to ask for help. It was like I didn't exist. I realize I'm nowhere near as interesting as whatever the newest boy-band is, but seriously? At least one thing has come out of my unsuccessful trips to Papery - I know where I'm NOT getting any of my wedding stuff from! read more

Never in my life did I imagine ever writing such a review about stationary of all things, however wanted to warn others of the experience. We were in the store looking for wedding invites and decided to get thank you notes right away. After choosing stationary from their boxed selection the associate worked with me to match the border color with an exact matching font. I received templates via e-mail to approve, and when approved it was the font type that I was paying attention to, not the coloring (more on this later). After picking up $70 thank you cards and reviewing at home it was very obvious the trim was gray and the font was brown. The gray had appeared brown in the poor store lighting. The associate over the phone told me there was nothing that could be done as I had approved them. Okay, my bad. Well, upon further "research" the original e-mail sent was looked at and it was very obvious the coloring was off on all three samples as one had gray, one had brown and the one chosen was purple. I then forwarded the e-mail to the store to "show/prove" what had happend and how the coloring in the samples were off. Had the coloring been spot on and I failed to notice, this review would NOT even be posted. However, that was not the case and to top it off, the store never acknowledge the e-mail. The good thing is we were undecided between using this store or an online company for our invites, and the decision was made for us! read more

From the planning process though the creation of unique non stock invitations to the place cards for the reception, everything was amazing. I came across The Papery in early 2019 when I was looking for invitations for my February 2020 wedding. I set up an appointment with Lara and after meeting with her I cancelled all of my other appointments because even from meeting with her just one time, Lara totally got me and I knew she would be able to execute exactly what I wanted. Lara was one of my favorite vendors to work with because she is so friendly, helpful, PATIENT, and knowledgeable about the wedding industry. I honestly still keep in touch with her and will 100% use her for any future events. I cannot recommend Lara enough. She guided me on everything from invitation wording to cake topper options to all of the small details I needed help with. I didn't plan on purchasing place cards and menus because my venue provided them, but I decided to use Lara for those, ceremony programs, welcome bag itineraries, and extra display signs because I knew how beautiful, perfect, and elegant they would all be (I also just loved working with Lara because of her talent for detail)! I am also now working with Lara for our thank you cards. If you are looking for elegant invites, someone that is easy to work with, and most importantly, knowledgable about all things wedding go to The Papery in Summit and ask for Lara. The Papery exceeded my expectations for my wedding needs thanks to Lara. She was prompt, efficient and friendly throughout the whole process. I initially just planned on getting my invitations from there, but ended up adding more items since Lara made everything so easy. My invitations, personalized napkins, ceremony programs, and menu cards all look amazing. Lara was also great with guiding me when I wasn't sure about something, but was never pushy. Laura, who I believe is the owner, was also very friendly and accommodating. I will be sure to use The Papery in the future. read more

I made a stop at The Papery after failing to find a suitable anniversary card in any of the other greeting card retailers in Summit. I was delighted at the wide selection of cards available I not only left with the perfect anniversary card, but I also left with a stack of hilarious cards that I sent to my children who are scattered across the country. Who doesn't love to receive real mail? I know it makes my day to find a card from someone who cared enough to take the time to purchase a card just for me and write something personal and special. If you want rude and condescending customer service for pricey items, this is your store! I tried to purchase a sold-out 2012 Kate Spade planner ; it was obviously faded from being in the store window and did not include the current KS 2015 inserts. I asked an employee if they could do better on the price (still listed full price at $195!!!) since it was missing the calendar and was faded. She informed me they would have to contact the owner. I left a calling card. I then overheard her explain to the another employee my request, and the woman looked at me and said KS doesn't make refills any more with quite the attitude to match. I corrected her and politely explained that KS sells replacement refills every year and they had sold out. The Paper Source and Papyrus will definitely receive my money instead of this place. I never received a return phone call. I stopped in the store-planner gone but box still there. Good luck in staying open in this economy. Ironically has a shop small business sign in the window-I tried and they made sure I didn't spend my money there. Thank you for helping stores stay in business by turning away customers. read more
