I have had my Mitsubishi' brakes fixed somewhere else which they were not good enough to replace the brakes perfectly. Therefore, my car's engine light and a bunch of other lights have been remained on. Mahmoud, with his best knowledge, found the origin of the problem and got it fixed. Buddy had my car for a couple months trying to find parts. In that time his technician got into an accident with my car. Fine, they'll fix it and get to working on the real problem. Over the holidays, the owner of the shop decides to leave my vehicle on the street outside of his lot. Tuesday morning I get a call from VPD. "Sir, someone has broken into your car and your car is filling with rain. I call Arbutus service centre, leave a msg, don't hear back. I call back at noon the next day, speak to the owner. "Oh it's not my responsibility where your car is left, I won't be taking any responsibility for the damage caused." You couldn't even call me to give me the option to move my car out of your location if you didn't have time to work on it or it was taking space or was going to sit there over the holidays. That's what you do Steve, you call the client and say "hey, parts haven't come in, I don't have room to store your car, can you come pick it up? I'll call ya when the part is in and you can bring it back. You DON'T leave the vehicle on the street, quite simple. My car being broken into is not what bothered me, nor the fact that I trusted my vehicle with this mechanic or that I spent 5k and the mechanical issue still persisted. It was the shitty attitude and absolute lack of any ownership that made me loose 1000% respect for this person and his business. I feel like by writing an honest review they are going to be slammed with new business and I'm not going to take my usual baby into the shop to get its tune-up. But... they deserve some great credit. It's East Van.. and that being my neighborhood, it usually means cheap. However, when it comes to my car... nothing is cheap. I was so lucky to be recommended this place, because my car has already had a few hiccups and they were right there to solve the problem for me. Somehow this owner has the handle on all the right parts at a great price, when I was paying 2-3 times more in Los Angeles for the same stuff. Labor prices are reasonable and they get the job done quickly. Most of all, they know their stuff, from American to German cars, they've done it all. The owner also spent time working on racecars. The real ones, not that Lamb you have in your garage, which is not a real race car. They also rebuild engines (I saw a Cayenne here the other day they were rebuilding, and a really old Benz), should you need that service. So I'm out with my secret. You can thank me later. There's also a good body shop on the same block.
