Things are much better! Yes, they were quite busy. Ariana was a wonder server. Order taken and filled perfectly. The cooks had their act together and things came out of the kitchen much quicker. Man where else can you get a crab cake for $8? I took a client for lunch here and the bill was $20. My accountant will probably question my write off. The crab cake was really good, had nice hunks of crab and came on a simple bun with cole slaw. My client got a massive chef salad and soup. He loved it. The quality of the food has been steadily decreasing. We went for their annual Thanksgiving dinner today and it wasn't very good. My mashed potatoes were cold and had to be sent back. Normally their mashed potatoes are made there but these were made from a box. The gravy on bith the potatoes and turkey was congealed when we got it. Very unappetizing. read more

Average food... waitresses are all very nice and do a good job... it's OK if you wanna wait 40 - 50 minutes for a simple breakfast. Seating is terrible at times... they have chairs up on and styrofoam containers stored on what could be available seating, with people waiting in line to get one. This is possibly do to the fact the grill and kitchen seem undersized/understaffed for the amount of seating available. I go there for breakfast sometimes because there aren't many breakfast places around other than fast food... but the wait times are about to change that. VERY Cheap, Decent Food, Greasy Spoon Feel I went here with my parents when we were looking for a quick, mid-week lunch. I rarely go to the Hagerstown area anymore (especially out to eat) and my parents aren't usually the best judge of places, so I was a bit fearful. First, let me say this, you WILL see a lot of older folks here, but one side of the restaurant is more of a diner-style, which seemed to be a bit less "senior-home-like". It just seemed more lively and reminded me of a roadside diner you'd see somewhere in the Southwest or Midwest. I'd sit on that side next time if I ever go back. You can't beat the prices. Honestly, I thought I had went back in time 20 years. Hamburgers and fries for $3.50. The most expensive meal I remember seeing on the menu was $12.50 and I think that was for a steak. I ordered a salad and the orange roughy. Portions were a bit small, but you aren't paying much at all, and I've had less and dropped over $30 before at other places. The fish was excellent. Ordinary, but perfectly cooked and seasoned. Only downside is the service. Our waitress was great, but the table across from us got tired of waiting on their food from the kitchen and was walking out when it finally appeared. There is also a very odd, "Deliverance" type guy who buses the tables, but he seemed harmless enough. read more

Mom & Pop Diner with VERY cheap local food choices. Husband goes there weekly with the parents and I go there when I'm craving a really delicious affordable spinach salad. It really is GREAT. They have daily specials and the food has never been bad. Cracks me up how everything is served on its own little plate or bowl, main course PLATE, side vegetable LITTLE BOWL, bread LITTLE PLATE, Second side LITTLE BOWL/PLATE ~ they must do a million dishes everyday or have a goal to cover every tiny inch of the table. First time here. Not impressed at all. I got a tuna melt. One piece of bread with very little tuna on it and cheese and tomato. I asked for Onion Rings and I had onions on my melt. The Parlor House has been around for years and is a staple of the Waynesboro area. They have decent food and is a great location for good meal for a family on a budget. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have great options no matter what time of day. I recommend the pork chops, Captain's Haddock, pancakes, or broiled chicken. Can't go wrong with any of these. They also have some of the best french fries in town. They recently updated the interior which was long overdue. Really makes the place more inviting and less dark/gloomy. The staff is well trained and attentive to the needs of the customer. Orders are taken quickly, drinks are kept filled, and the restaurant is kept clean. It's important to keep in mind most of the customers are older and the place is usually busy between 4:30-6 each night. read more

my husband and i love coming here for our breakfast on saturdays. they have such great specials and the quality of food is always amazing. the waitresses are so friendly and handle being busy very well! the onlyyyyy thing i would change is i wish only the people wearing gloves handled the food instead of waitresses also handling food since they are also touching money and dirty plates and what not. read more

Our waitress for one , she may been having a bad day because she was not very nice, our Hostess checked on us more than our waitress did how sad . Part of my food was cold & I caught our waitress who was still walking while I was trying to ask her for something which I hate & when I got what I asked for it looked as sloppy as the waitressing she was doing . So I think I will stick to stopping for breakfast there but not dinner because that wasn't at all well to do . My dinner & my husbands had a lot to be desired . Good old home town cooking in a home town setting. The breakfasts are cheap and great. Try the fried scrapel with syrup. Their chef salad is huge and very good. My favorite sandwich is a tie between the crab cake or the turkey club with a side of french fries. I believe they're batter dipped or something, but they are very good. People claim their fried chicken, crab cakes, and slippery pot pie is the best in this tri state area. They have a delish beef rice soup that is thick and filling. This unassuming restaurant is nestled in a shopping center beyond a somewhat frustrating parking lot. It doesn't look like much from outside, the entry foyer doesn't even hint at it being a restaurant. The online reviews were mixed, so we passed it by for a year. When we finally ventured in I regretted the hesitation. The right side is a retro feeling dinner decor complete with lunch counter. The left is a dining room able to accommodate larger parties. The menu is varied. From egg salad to seafood. Every server we've had has been great. The hostesses have been aloof and taken a long time to greet customers, but were never rude. The food we've had has all been good. Some of it has been outstanding. The Beef Rice Soup is divine. It's like slow cooked pot roast by the spoonful. Hubby really enjoys the Cheeseburger Sub. I've tried the Captains Platter which consisted of 3 small fried fish bites. It was tasty, but not at all what I expected and I felt a bit expensive. The Broiled Haddock however was AMAZING! Done just right and seasoned perfectly. It was firm, sweet, and not fishy at all. They also have a list of daily specials maybe 8-10 long. Our kids have enjoyed the kids menu as well. The Spaghetti portion was ample and filled our big kid up unlike some mini sized kids meals. Grilled Cheese is another favorite. And my little kid always loves her Hot Dog, for less than $2.
