    a plate of salad

I stayed the night in the hotel and wandered into the Pub for dinner and SOOOOO glad I did. Harry met me at the door and gave me a great table then we chatted about the menu. You order by writing your selection on the paper menu and bringing it to the bartender, Stewart. I had a garden salad and grilled chicken salad which came with absolutely amazing bread! The salads were nicely prepared, seasoned and delicious! Stewart made a divine orange cheesecake and I could have eaten the entire pie! Sitting at the bar enjoying a cup of tea and the cheesecake with fellow patrons was a wonderfully relaxing evening that I thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend you stop in and ENJOY!

Management is incredibly rude and they are grossly understaffed. Terrible experience. Go to Stoners on the Square or Mercersburg Inn

Blocks of cheese on sale as well as crackers to enjoy their selection. If you plan on a day to wine hop, pack a small cooler with ice so you can take the cheese with you. Most cheese packs are sold with 4 blocks of cheese in 1 pkg. The Catawba brand of wine was was very nice, but the Cosmo slushy is better. It's refreshing on a hot day. TIP: limited parking in front of the facility & it sits on a corner of a highly traveled main road. Go past the winery, (right side; right lane) and take a right at its corner; take another right onto E Maple, the next street. From there, on the right is a graveled path. That's their area for patrons to park. Approx 8 cars can fit on left side of the path. No Food. Just cheese, crackers, and BlackOut pretzels.

The barrel aged wines that are specific like basil Hayden and makers mark are a very nice and unique touch! Made the wine very smooth! My husband is a super sweet (like grape juice sweet) wine drinker, and there wasn't a lot sweet enough for him but he did enjoy the raspberry wine slush and the peach wine! We will be back if we are in the area again!

The wine list and menu are on an ipad. Seating is a mix of high tops, couches & comfy chairs and bar seating. Everything we tried was delicious! Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. What we tried: *Mushroom Arancini! Golden-fried risotto balls filled with earthy mushrooms, rich parmesan, and creamy mozzarella, served hot with house-made aoili marinara and micro planed cheese *Burrata with sundried tomatoes and crumble walnut panko crumble - Mild, smooth and fresh. *Petit Tender Crostini Perfectly seared petit tender slices, cooked medium-rare, rests atop a crunchy crostini layered with house-made sweet onion iam. Finished with a crumb of tangy blue cheese, a drizzle of Modena balsamic glaze, *Garlic Shrimp (Gambas al Ajillo Tender, tail-on shrimp, seared in fragrant garlic and robust olive oil, layered with smoky paprika and a subtle hint of red pepper. Served with a warm, crusty demi-baguette *Garlic & Truffle Aioli Patatas Bravas Golden and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy within finished with a silky garlic-truffle and Parmesan aioli and a flourish of shaved Gruvère. *Toasted Almond Cream Cake- layered almond flavors and creamy mascarpone, then topped with crushed cookies and almonds. I really liked the electronic menu on the tablet in terms of quick navigation to all the featured products. My one complaint is that I would have liked more information on each of the wines they served. For example, if you could tap on each wine by name and get a brief description that would have helped me. Instead, I opted for one of their many classic cocktails, in this case my traditional go-to first cocktail, a boulevardier, made very well. For an extra $2, they will smoke any drink, and the presentation is as good as the enhanced taste, if not better. I also found the cocktail prices to be quite reasonable. They have a couple of limitations when it comes to payment. We wanted to combine some cash with a credit payment, which they could not do, but we were able to resolve that among our group without problems.

Actually, the fact that this place exists as a sole entity nestled amongst a village of about 1500 is probably a blessing for both visitors and locals. Apparently the residents in the viscinity of the ski lodge voted to keep the place alcohol free, but that could someday change. In the meantime, the Mansion is well serving of your alcoholic and munchie needs and at a much more reasonable price than standard resort fares. It's a small location despite its name, with a handful of tables and bar space. The bartender mentioned they have additional seating that opens at certain times or for large parties perhaps. Closed Sundays and Monday's, opens around 4 pm on Tuesday. We showed up around 5:30 pm, and it was freezing inside. It has been a warmish winter day, but I was grateful I kept my ski gear on. They turn the heat up for the week when they reopen, and it's an old building so it takes some time to rewarm. The bartender is awesome-incredibly friendly, prompt, down to earth. Easy to talk to, whether he acknowledges that gift or not I can't be sure. I'd come back just to hang out with him. The blackboard outside the bar read "Everyone makes us happy-some when they arrive, some when they leave :)" which may sum up his personality better than trite observations from a brief, casual encounter. In any case, he makes the place worth visiting. Their drink and food selection is more than adequate, though not particularly diverse in its range, but still offers something for everyone. Beers and bloody Mary's were our drinks, and the Bloody Mary had a quality mix. I added their hot sauce (something Cajun) to make it as spicy as I like. They were well mixed and went down easy. We split fried pickles, onion rings, and chicken tenders. There was enough for us 3 to have one or two pieces of each. The fried food was good! Standard bar fare, but still higher end ingredients. You can sometimes just tell it's not GFS, but something better. The pickles were full pickles, not the sliced chip variety. They had a couple salads, a BLT and burger on the menu as well. If you are a tired skiier, a local art school kid, a townie in need of a buzz, or a traveler weary from your time on the road, come here and refresh your mind and body with fine spirits from the Mansion.
