I had read exemplary reviews for one acupuncturist, Leah. Nothing was alleviating my pain, so out of desperation I turned to acupuncture. Upon calling I discovered she had recently passed away. But I was told I was speaking with Dr Shadé. I'd read about her on their website. She said it was certainly up to me but many of Leah's patients had turned to her. She explained they had a spa you could enjoy, etc. So I made an appointment. Next day was available. I don't know what to say. I'd read the reviews. No alarms went off, but let me put it this way -- my husband did not want me to go in alone. The parking lot was deserted, the building not in good repair. There was not a person in sight. But the reviews were okay. . . clients praised the place. I met Dr Shadé and filled out paperwork. Besides our pleasant conversation, it was crickets. Not a soul around. That's rather spooky. She invited me to use the "spa" which, as described by another reviewer, was actually a very dark steam shower, I presume, as I backed away, it was awfully small. As described by others there were no "relaxing and calming scents, sounds and laid back atmosphere. To the variety of teas to help yourself to". Sounds like what you'd expect from a spa. Not the frenzy of trying to get the phones fixed I encountered. She proceeded with my treatment with great care. We talked a lot as she worked the needles. For a first-timer it was perfectly pleasant. She's a very nice person. Knowing how bad off I am she did a deep massage as well. I honestly hate to point out that the place is in shambles. I hung my clothes on a broken suit rack. There were crock pots on the floor, etc. The place is just a worn out mess. I regret that I did not take pictures. If you find happiness here I'm supportive of you. I'll stick with Utica Ihloff for my spa and perhaps find acupuncture elsewhere. read more

I had previously been at the Path to Wellness for acupuncture but today I came in for a massage. I was immediately greeted by Evon when I stepped in the front door. She took me back to the room and I got settled in. She asked about my areas of pain or soreness and then began the massage. Everything was so relaxing and she did a great job making sure I was comfortable throughout the massage. I especially found the laser therapy for my upper back and shoulder area to be very effective. Unfortunately my brother had a bad experience because his massage therapist did not give him a deep tissue massage as he had requested, and was promised. Afterwards, the receptionist hesitated to honor the price that was advertised on the website of $85; he wanted to charge my brother $135. My brother offered to show him the website on his phone and then the recepcionist said he would honor the $85 this one time. He said the website had not been updated. This was very disappointing. And my brother was dissatisfied and said he would not return. read more

My close friend highly recommended I go see Teresa at Path Of Wellness to help with getting pregnant, after she had gone in for acupuncture and became pregnant with her second child shortly after. With that said I had a great first appointment, Teresa did massage and acupuncture and was very informative about the process and answered all my questions. I had a terrible experience here. Teresa did acupuncture on me. After putting the needles in she left the room. After a few minutes I ended up in agonizing pain. I tried my best to stay still until she came back but after awhile, I couldn't wait any longer. I carefully reached back and discovered she had placed a bemer machine directly over one of the needles in my back. I removed it and held it in my hand and waited for her to come back. After awhile, I couldn't hold it any longer and accidentally dropped it. Hearing the noise, she came running in and discovered what happened. Rather than being concerned about my pain and her mistake, she scolded me for dropping her machine by telling how much it costs if I break it. I let her remove the remaining needles and left. I should have trusted my instincts and left before I ever started treatment. Not only is this place is dirty, Teresa has a terrible bedside manner. She is not caring and will blame you if she hurts you. Please beware of this business. read more

Worst massage and experience I have ever had anywhere. I have had numerous massages in the US and several places overseas. First, I sent an email several days prior asking about the steam room prior to my massage and foot reflexology appointment. I never received a response. I did end up doing a ten-minute steam (receptionist timed it for me). By the way I arrived twelve minutes early (looked at car clock when I arrived) for my 1:00 appointment. After steam, I laid in the room until 1:33 (looked at phone when she walked in the room). Massage was 80 minutes and reflexology was 30 minutes that means if she immediately started, she would be done at 3:23. She did not start immediately. Massage was interrupted three times with receptionist coming in room to ask questions, and the gal left the room once to take care of business. I did not fully receive massage time due to interruptions, and foot reflexology was a couple of minutes of lame toe massage. I have had reflexology previously and that was not reflexology. She was done at 3:06. The absolute worst which showed her lack of understanding spa relaxation was her incessant talking about absolute non-sense the entire time even though I stated before she started that I did not like to talk during massages as I need to relax and blow off stress. But she hardly took a breathe the entire time. I left The Path to Wellness more stressed than when I arrived. Why the two stars when barely one is deserved is because the steam room is a great addition and the receptionist was really sweet and nice, location is great, and massage technique was good but not utilized with a great customer experience. The moment I walked in the door, I was in heaven. From the relaxing and calming scents, sounds and laid back atmosphere. I've had 3 massages with them in the last 6 months. All 3 were good quality massages. Two different staff but both good. At The Path, they are really dedicated to what they do. They are not a fancy spa, but you get masseuses that believe in what they do and are passionate. You can do a steam before your spa and then shower. Followed by the massage (or other services like acupuncture). You can steam afterwards. They've done this a long time and have a style that they like. It might not be for everyone but it's better than most in Tulsa or surrounding area. If you're looking for a better than standard massage, go see them. Some places hire staff, who just do their job. It's simple and you get a massage. This place is definitely not that place. All 3 are really good.they are straying to get you to a better place. This was the worst massage I have ever received. I redeemed my massage through a Groupon I purchased and did not do enough research on the spa. A Path to Wellness was advertised as "a resort-like spa and health center aimed at whole-body rejuvenation". I would have to disagree with this statement. The spa itself was located behind an Enterprise car rental and looked desolate from the outside. I did not want to judge a book by its cover so I reserved my opinion until after my massage was over. When I entered the spa, there were two large dogs in the waiting area, which were apparently the "spa dogs". I thought that was a little odd. When entering the room for the actual massage, there was a medium sized towel to cover myself instead of a sheet. The masseuse talked the entire time as well as forgot to turn off his/her* phone, so it buzzed three times. There was profanity that was used during the masseuse's story telling which I did not find appropriate. When the massage was almost done, the front manager/receptionist? popped his head in to notify the masseuse that he was closing up shop and wanted to see if the masseuse could lock up behind him/her. The entire experience was uncomfortable and the massage itself did not focus on any problem areas I was experiencing. I was not asked what depth of massage I wanted, so it was mediocre at best. I would advise anyone looking for a massage to avoid a Path to Wellness. I love going to the Path. I love the way I feel after a good acupuncture session. The two main therapists have different styles, so that might play into a person's experience there, but they are both very skilled and experienced. My experience at Path to Wellness is always amazing. This time I had a new person, but every therapist I have had does a great job. I usually like to show up a little early to get in the steam shower before my massage. I got a massage and facial, and loved it!! They always work with me on the chronic pain areas of my body. My favorite part about this place is that they always take a really wholistic experience on healing. I have many years of chronic pain and back problems, as well as extreme stress. The path always has relaxing incense, hot tea, a steam shower, and a relaxing massage ready for me. I used my birthday discount and they also gave me a birthday card! I highly recommend the path. The only reason I didn't rate a 5 is because there were a couple distractions that were minor and not a big deal, but I really like to get into a fully relaxed mental state when I arrive and hopefully stay there long after I leave.
