Love the drinks here sometimes is hit or miss with servers! But over all a great view and drinks options!

Fantastic bar in an area that currently has a lot of construction. But once inside, you enter a gorgeous space and a cocktail bar with a great staff and set up. They had genever so I started off with a genever martinez which was solid - good balance, and the maltiness of the genever shown through beautifully. The Japanese Anchorage was fantastic, starting off with a Nikka Days base and adding in sherry and yellow charteusse - it's a drink any Manhattan lover will like. Service was professional and worth a trip into the gulch!

This review was for cocktails only. I went here for a pre-dinner drink before Fogo. I had a new drink called Teaches of Peaches. It was solved in a tall glass with appropriate ice nuggets. Great refreshing drink for the muggy weather we've had this week in Nashville. Location is a bit hard to find, just take the elevator to the 5th floor. Great lounge, decorated very nicely. Comfy seats. Great server brought over a portable lamp, very slyly as it is dark in there. If you're a Tennessean, you know we're a consumption tax state so be prepared for the extra 25% on your bill from the liquor and sales tax. That combined with the property taxes that Davidson county charges these businesses is pure greed so when you wonder why drinks are expensive, there you go. Anyhow, great staff, menu, and location. Look forward to returning.

Dare I say, The Patterson House was a bit disappointing. It's a nice, sultry, sleek space, but it's so dark in the bar and bathroom area that I could barely see. My first drink wasn't great, though they replaced it with another that I liked much better. They were running an empanada special, so I ordered two. Unfortunately, both the original order and the replacement came out undercooked, actually still frozen in the middle, which was pretty wild. To their credit, they removed it from my bill and discounted my cocktail. Parking is also pretty rough. Overall, not the best experience, but my bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, which helped.

This is definitely more of a "come for the drinks" kind of place, but we decided to try it for a light dinner too. We were seated along the outer edge of the large rectangular bar and taken care of by our very hipster waiter, Conner, who was friendly and attentive. First things first, it is very dark in here. Not in a moody, romantic way, but in a "struggling to read the menu" way. And honestly, this menu would be hard for anyone to read, not just older folks. We each ordered a specialty cocktail, and they came out looking beautiful, served with those oversized block ice cubes. Now hear me out, that ice takes up a lot of real estate, so there is not exactly a ton of that pricey liquid in the glass. That said, the drinks were genuinely delicious, and you are clearly paying for the overall experience and presentation. My cocktail was some riff on a Negroni. Note too that the martinis here are served in the smaller tulip glasses not a nice traditional glass. For food, we ordered a few items to share. The wings were underwhelming and easy to skip. The cacio e pepe was actually pretty good and probably the standout of what we tried. The bread and butter, while excellent, was a very small portion for $9. My friend ordered the burger and called it very mid, which felt accurate based on everything else. Bottom line, come here for one beautiful, expensive cocktail, grab a seat at the bar, enjoy the vibe, and then head somewhere else for dinner. You're welcome.

We had a great time at The Patterson House last weekend. We went on a Saturday early evening and were surprised that we could just walk in and grab seats at the bar without any trouble. I know probably it's not the case every weekend, but just some luck in our side! If you like really well crafted cocktails, this place is awesome. They do a great job putting interesting twists on classic drinks and food inspired drinks. My husband ordered the Black Jewel Old Fashioned and I got the Pineapple Upside Down Cake cocktail, and both were fantastic. We also ordered the beef tartare to snack on, which was really good and went perfectly with the drinks. Trying to remember our bartender's name, she was so sweet and talented, gave us tons of recs for all around town. Will update later with her name. The bar has a cool speakeasy-style vibe and feels cozy and intimate. It was just a little dark for me, but they actually offer small lamps you can use at the bar, which was a really nice touch and made it easier to see the menu. We'll be back, for sure!!

Love the design of their new space. Felt like we were in an underground club because of how dark it was, almost too dark. The Long Menu consists of their classics and original menu, while the Short Menu is a combo of seasonal specials and new concepts. Breeder's Day is the best girly, fruity cocktail and never a miss. No parking validation offered, but several parking lots/garages within one block of their location or valet is also available. Overall good cocktail spot and standard drink pricing compared to other bars in the area.

A delicious custom drink by the best bartender ever!

I can't say enough good things about Patterson House. It's in a building off an alley. There is validated parking in the garage across the alley. Just pay and then scan the QR code when you get to the bar. You get 3 hours free. The bar is gorgeous. It's dark and moody and feels very upscale. The drinks are creative, some more than others, but the bartenders will happily walk you through them. Honestly, the drinks were not as pricey as I thought they'd be. I was with a group of 7 for my birthday. We sat at the bar as the booths are small and too cramped for more than 4 people imo. The barstools are short people friendly which was great for me. I also really appreciated the purse hooks under the bar. I didn't feel like drinking more alcohol that night so I asked the bartender to make me a great mocktail. I gave him a couple of ingredients that I don't like, a few drinks that I do and he created something amazing! I don't know what it was but it was fabulous and didn't feel like a typical boring mocktail. 10/10 experience. I ordered the chocolate basque cake and it was okay. The rich chocolate taste was great. But it needed more sugar. I understand that they were letting the dark chocolate shine but a little more sweetness would have been nice. I wouldn't order it again. My friend ordered the smoked wings and said they were great. Great service, great drinks, good food, what more can you want? We'll definitely be back!

Came in here with a close group of friends for the first time and we had such a great evening. The drink menu is extensive and impressive although I will say there weren't any mocktails listed. One of our friends wasn't drinking and despite not having a mocktail menu, she described what she liked and didn't like and was brought a drink that she absolutely loved! I was impressed with the bartender because it was definitely a hard ask with what she didn't like. I loved both drinks I ordered and also the ambiance in here was perfect. Intimate and cozy. Our server was awesome although he disappeared for about 30 - 45 minutes when we had finished our drinks but eventually we got our bill! Looking forward to coming back when I can.

Finally checked out the new Patterson location with some friends! We loved the old spot, but the new vibe is even better. It's so open and bright, and the windows give you the perfect view of the city lights while you eat. The food, drinks, and service were all 10/10. Definitely try the Garden Grove Smash cocktail--it's so good!"

Mid week, after work shenanigans with a friend. This was my first time at this location and I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully decorated and dimly lit. (Not to fret they have little lanterns for my 4 eyed foodies) This was such a great night. Our very attentive mixologist was Holland. She suggested a cocktail from their menu based off what I said my favorite cocktail was. I think ordered my favorite cocktail and she perfectly executed that as well. I had lemon pepper wings and fries to eat and they were delicious. (Especially the fries and the aioli) I would like to point out that they no longer have a contract with the parking garage. So they don't offer validation for parking. This location is very nice. I will be visiting again soon with the friend group.

This spot will always hold a really special place in my heart as a Nashville native, and I really consider it the spot that started it all, really shifting Nashville into modern craft cocktails and fine dining. I've truly been going to the Patterson House since it opened, remember Toby Maloney behind the bar, making us Juliet & Romeo's. As a fan of his other, now RIP spot the Violet Hour, when the Patterson House opened it really brought Nashville to play on the national craft control scene, but still seemed very close to what Toby had built at the Violet Hour: an elevated but very fun speakeasy vibe, incredible cocktails, and casual almost hangover style food (burgers, tots, etc.). Over time, Strategic Hospitality and the Catbird Seat really evolved Patterson House into its own identity. Now with the move to the Bill Voorhees building in the Gulch, a significantly larger, elevated space, low lights, extensive cocktail menu, an update and refining of the food menu (designed by the chefs at Catbird), the Patterson House remains one of the premier cocktail options in the city and a great option for date night or a treat to yourself. I've come a couple of times since the move and tried a few of the new menus. The cocktails remain the draw here, with the seasonal items always being a standout to me. I appreciate they always keep favorites from their 16-year history available and also have an extensive by-the-spirit organized menu of classic options. For me, personally I think their whole cocktail menu feels somewhat dated and lends itself towards sweeter drinks than I prefer. I recently had an incredible Mediterranean milk punch - dill, yogurt, aloe, cucumber, sesame, which was an exception to this. The food menu is my new favorite part of this spot and I've seen it continue to improve over the past few months. The food is approachable but upscale, holding to the Patterson's comfort foods roots but giving it a bit more refinement. One of my favorites on a recent visit were the cheesy potatoes, which topped roasted potato pieces with an almost foamy, aerated version of cheese. Delicious and filling and fun. I have also loved the broiled oysters, the scallops, and the marigold donuts (Dunkin could never make something so heavenly and light). Excellent service at the bar both times I went. I'm typically able to get a seat at the bar with no wait if I go on the early side but you can expect to have a wait if you go after 7 pm with no reservation; make a reservation if you have your heart set on dining here. Parking is not validated anymore, sadly, and valet costs $19 but is probably one of the more reasonable options unless you're lucky enough to find street parking. Overall, this will always be a special spot to me and is a great place to take an out of towner looking to see Nashville as a food & drink destination.

Worst hangover of my life, but I introduced my 21yo niece to classic cocktails. Thank y'all for a great time. Your hard work and attention to detail is much appreciated.

Ask the Community - The Patterson House

Saw this listed as a place to hear live music. Don't see any mention of music, nor photos of bands/artists. No music, I assume?

When I went a few weeks ago, there wasn't any live music.

Are you moving to 8th ave or 12south neighborhood? Rumors abound!

Do they have non alcoholic options?

    Yes!

What time do they close on Friday and Saturday?

    2 AM as of 9/24/24

Do they have a happy hour?

Yes! 4-6pm Sunday-Thursday, I believe. This is a new thing and it is DELICIOUS. $10 cocktails and I believe $6-7 food specials.

What time does the kitchen stop serving food?

Is this a loud bar or are you able to have conversations with friends and hear them well?

it's not THAT loud... def. can have a conversation. But that's also because I speak loud.

If a party of 2 show up on a random Friday night around 9 is it pretty safe to assume we'd be able to get in within an hour of waiting?

A party of 2 is your quickest route to a seat for sure. Be willing to seat at first available (ie. take seats at bar - they're better anyway)… Read more

Do they have a happy hour?

Unfortunately no, but the price for the quality cocktail you get is worth it! Most drinks are around $12.

Do they take reservations? Email only type of situation?

No they don't take reservations However, they are willing to take your name on the waitlist & tell them you'll come back in 30 minutes, etc to be ready for your spot.… Read more

What is the dress code for this bar?
