Pullman Standard is a very vibey & cozy bar just perfect for grabbing a drink/lite bite to eat before heading out on the town or as a date spot. I attended a private event here & they turned up the lights to make it more lively but once the event was over & regular service continued they rearranged & reverted to the dim lit environment that is typically found here. The bartenders were nice & attentive to our guests' needs & the manager was on top of everything throughout the night as well. The focaccia bread was exceptional & everybody enjoyed The Maiden Voyage (peppermint patty vodka martini garnished with orange & mint chocolate) a cocktail they created for the event to honor Nashville's sister city Belfast, Northern Ireland.I also liked the fact they had a really good & new to me imported beer on the menu Neon City Jade Scorpion from Hong Kong. Wonderful hidden gem a short walk from the Westin! This is a quiet classy 1920s style bar outside of all the craziness! It is such a great escape from the craziness of broadway, and really feels like a place that isn't in Nashville, but somewhere in New York or Europe. When it was time to settle our bill our waitress hovered over us with the electronic payment machine as we added tip. Felt very awkward. Did not seem fitting for an "upscale" establishment. After reading about why all of the pieces were curated and cultivated, you can see the nod to the roaring 20's in every detail... definitely Gatsby-esque. My server Veronica was so kind and made us feel like home, while the general manager Noah was incredibly attentive, and even came several times to make sure everything was perfect. What a great staff! Our cocktails were spectacular (I personally recommend the "Safety and Comfort") and the small bites we ordered (Wagyu, Karabuta Pork Belly, Duck Confit) were made to perfection. The old fashion came out of the beer tap and came a bit unmixed once the remaining ingredients were added. The ice cubes were very cool with the Pullman logo imprinted. The negative...being charged $2 dollars for "ice" on a bourbon on the rocks when regular ice and not the ice block was used. Our first spot we visited in Nashville was Pullman Standard. Our plan was to stop by somewhere prior to our dinner reservation to get a drink and some small bites. This was the perfect spot! We sat at the bar upon arrival and we're promptly greeted by Alex, the bartender. We had great and genuine conversation. We ordered the Deviled Eggs and also the Focaccia. Both were amazing! Just enough food for what we were looking for. One of the servers Veronica gave us great advice as well! Chase, another gentleman behind the bar was great too.
