    Peachless and peach cobbler
    Karl K.

My wife and I first tasted these wonderful desserts at the food truck park off 610. Years later we found her location on Jones Rd. We grabbed a peachless and normal peach cobbler. The young lady that served us was very pleasant and friendly. The location is small and quaint and has all of the items available. This is by far the BEST peach cobbler I have ever eaten.

Look how much topping there is!!

Let me start off by saying my family was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua. I've been coming to…read morethis spot since it was a food truck then evolved into this brick and mortar location. I've always gotten the fritanga which I feel you can't go wrong with. The fritanga comes with your choice of meat between beef or pork, though there may be another option I'm not thinking of. I've always gotten it with beef (carne asada) which my family and I love. It comes with your choice of gallo pinto or arroz con gandules, and I always get gallo pinto since I'm not a fan of the alternative in general, but never had it here. It also comes with your choice of maduro or tajadas (forms of plantain) and delicious queso frito (fried cheese). Again, this is my go to and will continue to be. The reason I gave 4 stars vs 5 is because of the gallo pinto. I'm blessed enough to have family who has made it my entire life which is way better. It wouldn't be fair to hold this against the restaurant because of this alone, but theirs legit just tastes like unseasoned rice and beans mixed together. Everything else is delicious. We also got their quesillo which is basically a big tortilla covered with beans and cream and cheese. This was a 6/10 for me. Their enchiladas Nica was amazing and huge. Will def get this again. I recommend checking them out if you haven't already!

I took my manager the first time I went last week and was happy to see that she enjoyed the chicken empanada (she's not very adventurous when it comes to trying new food). She ordered 2 but only finished 1. I ate the other one and was blown away by the taste and how full of meat it was! I ordered the plate with Arroz con gandules, and carne frita (fried pork chunks) with platanos maduros. I loved the rice and plantains; the carne frita was flavorful but a little dry. I'm very particular about what I consider to be good food- my parents owned a Puerto Rican restaurant in NJ for 10 years and I judge everything against their home cooked food, and honestly, very few places can compare. I went back yesterday (October 15) after work for dinner. I had the arroz con gandules again (delicious!), but instead of the carne frita, I asked for the cerdo asado- it tasted like it had been cooked over an open flame and was incredible! The maduros were perfect, and I used the dipping sauce as a salad dressing. I washed it all down with medium size jugo de maracuya (parcha), and I was completely satisfied! I haven't tried the Nicaraguan food yet, but if it's a good as the entrees I've had so far, I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

After doing my research and seeing food bloggers post online about this place, I decided to try it! We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm - packed! There were no tables available inside and there were people inside and outside waiting for their orders. That's something to be ready for if you come on a Saturday. Our order didn't actually take that long. Or maybe it took a little while and we didn't mind waiting. Either way, it wasn't that bad! Luckily it's located in a shopping area so there's always parking. My main gripe is that they close at 7pm. I'm sure there's a good reason for that but I've wanted to try it multiple times before but they've been closed! I ended up going with the infamous brisket and fried rice. The brisket was super tender - I was able to pull it apart with my fork. I typically shy away from brisket because usually it's tough. But this was delicious - tender and had a nice smoky flavor. Not overwhelming or too salty. The rice had a great flavor too. There were chunks of meat in that as well and the rice had a nice smoky flavor. Not too salty or greasy. It also came with some accoutrements - pickled onions, fresh pickled cucumbers, jalapeños, bbq sauce and bread. The cucumbers and onions stole the show - very fresh and refreshing. We were surprised at the pickled onions - they were soo good! Overall - worth the hype! I'll definitely be back to try ribs, chicken or pulled pork sandwich. I heard everything is good here!!

I'm viet and imo that's the best way to pickle anything. Restaurant clean, service friendly and very fast. You can tell they are a neighborhood favorite, so many people came in after us to pick up and dine in! Only thing to "improve" is it was a little warm in the restaurant. Not sure if the ac was struggling bc of this Texas heat or what but other than that, food was excellent and we definitely will be back. Highly recommend!

It took a few times at the gas station to realize I was not getting my fuel points. After a visit to the customer service they added the fuel points to my account. So today, I tried 3 different Shell stations and none would recognize my card, so I drove to my Kroger and tried their gas station ( I had 1000 points). Same thing. So I went into the store to the customer service and she did something on her computer and she assured me that the card would work. I returned to the Kroger gas station and same thing - card was not read. So I HAD to go ahead and fill up as I was on empty. Back home I called the 1-800 number. What a joke! They of course said they had worked their majic and my card should work now. Well I had already filled up the tank, WITHOUT the points, so I asked for reimbursement for my gas purchase. They refused but offered a $16 credit for future gas or grocery purchase. REALLY?!!!!!
