I went to HEB just to get a special sausage that I love. They had their fall decor out, lots of pumpkins, apple cider and even some photo props. I get by with a little HEB from my friends. The Jones Rd HEB is busy, but aren't they all. It's not the friendliest and sometimes is out of things, or not as fresh, but it's better than some other HEB locations, and like most of the others, it's dirt cheap with great quality on a lot of key items. This is not the first time an employee/manager has been rude to me at this location. This first time one manager TOLD me to MOVE to another line. I ignored her because she was rude about it. She said it again and I told her I was fine in the line I was in. She said again move to the other line. I really didn't feel like moving so I told her that's ok and she got mad. She actually wanted to fight about it but I just ignored her and she started talking under her breath rudely. Now today my husband had his cart parked close to the register (infront of the drinks but not blocking the line). As I walked up to him he was telling me something and showing me the book they had for scouts he wanted to get for our son. The manager/ cashier (long hair) said "are yall ready" with her hand out as if to move us faster. We weren't but we walked up. My son looked and me and my husband did too. We all knew she was rude about it and I think she knew. I really hope she has the day she deserves. read more

I enjoy the quality meats at this HEB mostly. Unfortunately I don't come often because the lines are often long and I hate standing around waiting. I wish it was a larger grocery store with more international products like the bigger ones in town. I highly recommend their crawfish boil during crawfish season on weekends. I was humiliated and treated like a criminal, yeah seriously. How many of y'all look over the weekly ad specials to decide where to go shopping? Well, I do. So, when I saw that the split chicken breast was $.99 a pound, that was a deal I didn't want to pass up. I found the chicken breasts and lucky me, there was only one left on the shelf. Unfortunately, they had forgotten to price the darn thing but figured the employees would be aware of the sale items or at least have an ad close by as a reference. Turns out, they do not and neither do the managers or at least the one I encountered. I took a picture of the price to show the cashier just in case (I didn't want to slow the line down at the register). When I went to pay, the cashier seemed super shocked that there was no price on the chicken. Not a problem, I have a picture of the price tag AND it's on the weekly ad. No big deal. Like my friend Hannah Montana says, "Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days." That wasn't enough for the bagger that was clearly the manager. She starts questioning me about the chicken and why I just didn't grab one with the price (I guess she thought I removed the price tag myself). I explained that it was the last one but I had a picture of the price and it was also on the weekly ad. She asked the cashier how much it weighed and she responded "3.46." The manager then said, "Charge her $7.99." I chuckled a bit as I thought she was joking. However, when the cashier kept asking her to confirm, I realized a few things 1. This is NOT a joke, 2. She either can't do basic math or 3. She thinks I can't (either way it was not right but it got worse.. keep reading). I was literally being charged double. I corrected her math and suggested she charge me $4.00 even for both of our sakes. She told the cashier to do so, she rang me up and I paid. This was bad enough and SHOULD have been the end but nay, nay the manager needed to humiliate me even more. I grabbed my shopping cart full of my (already paid for) groceries but realized the chicken was missing. WTF?! Did this thing go zombie on me and walk off?! Nope, the manager had taken it and was on the phone trying to contact the meat department to confirm my story. She told me, the customer, to stand there and wait while she did so (Of course everyone was staring at me prob wondering why I was stealing chicken). When she couldn't get a hold of anybody she then proceeded to make me follow her to the meat department. I couldn't believe it either and actually told her, "Are you serious? I feel as if I'm being treated like a criminal for something I didn't do." She then responded, "Just follow me ma'am and we're going to get to the bottom of this." All while she's holding my chicken hostage. So, off I go following this ridiculous person to the meat department where I met Andre. Andre was super professional and actually knew his stuff. When he was asked by the manager about the chicken he calmly replied, "Oh yeah, it was the last one on the shelf and I just forgot to price it." He then looks over at me and says, "I'm sorry ma'am, I have more in the back if you would like another one. It's on sale for $0.99 a pound." He weighed it and turns out it weighed over 5 pounds and I underpaid by $1.86. The manager then has me follow her again and to my surprise, didn't charge me the difference. No apology, nothing. She did walk me out of the store basically kicking me out. So, there you have it folks! Next time you go buy something on sale, 1. make sure you bring the ad, 2. Take a picture of the sales price and 3. Stay the hell away from this HEB. Have a good day!! read more

This used to be a Randall's some time ago... I really wish this H-E-B was larger and I guess more easy on the eyes like the newer H-E-Bs but I guess I should be thankful I have one located only a few miles from my home? What it's missing for me really is the variety in the deli and bakery section that other locations have. I do most of my grocery shopping at HEB and my mother used to use their Pharmacy. But the HEB pharmacy will no longer accept payment with a credit card over the phone and my mom is not able to navigate the online payment system, so they will not fill her prescriptions. Otherwise HEB is pretty good for accessibility, but I am very disappointed in their new policy and their lack of accommodations. Now I need to find a new pharmacy my mom can talk to who delivers and get the prescriptions transferred. read more

H-E-B deli workers some are horrible and some are great. So I go and I'm getting a coupon and it says half a pound of cheese a half a pound of meat to get the free rolls. I told the deli lady I'd like a half a pound of cheese and a half a pound of ham, I said I will be back so when I came back, she had given me a pound and I'm standing there and I said it's right there. I said that pound she goes well that's what she said. I said no that's not what I said I told you the coupon said a half a pound of cheese and a half a pound of meat and you'll get free rolls, she insisted I was wrong and then she started talking about me with her coworker right in front of me this experience is very bad. I've spoke with other people about this particular deli and these people and they said that it is horrible deli experience. It's so sad. H-E-B is great for customer service. I live 5 minutes from this HEB and each time I go which is weekly, the shelves are never stocked. They never have the HEB brand lemonade, heavy whipping cream, butter to name a few items. I have to either go to Cypress location or Vintage to get what I need, which is out of the way. MR. BUTT I'm a regular loyal customer but this location sucks when it comes to having items stocked and finding what you need. At least Krogers does keep their brand stocked, and I receive really good coupons weekly. Whomever is over inventory and managing the store need to do better. I weekly spend 500 or more at this Heb but no longer, this location is a terrible representation of what any Heb should be. more then once I have dealt with poor customer service and poor bagging services at this location many times, but to deal with clear biased transphobia by Heb security is the last straw. I was finished shopping and about to check out when they walked up and accused me of doing something but wouldn't tell me what I did wrong.. kept mentioning theres children in here ‍ and told me I need to leave the heb or be escorted out. this is transphobia. this is biased hated of a lgbt person. If I didn't do anything why was I removed? i spend over 500 a week at this location but I will be putting my money and efforts to boycott this location because of my experience. Horrible service today buying snow crab. I point to the snow crab but he want to give me shrimps. Told him I m standing and point to it. He never apologizes gave me an attitude. Went for some groceries this morning for some bread from the bakery. Normally HEB is spot on on customer service. Today was an exception. Ella C, did not allow us to buy more than two loafs of fresh bread from the bakery. Eventually my wife was able to get one loaf and pay for it separately. The cashier was rude during a time of recovery from the worst winter storm ever recorded. Normally we get outstanding service with zero complaints. We love HEB because they have the freshest ingredients for meals at home and also a decent variety of domestic and foreign beers. They only got a 4 star review because I won't let one person ruin all the other experiences I've had at HEB read more

Horrible wine selection. Horrible coffee selection. No cosmetics and other items that you'd find at a nicer HEB. I shop here because they have more fresh "readymade" meals, craft beer and a bigger seafood selection than Kroger across the street. There are 3 Kroger stores within 5 miles of this HEB location. If HEB would just upgrade this one to a bigger store with more selection, they would put all 3 Kroger locations out of business within a year. I really prefer HEB, but in order to avoid shopping at multiple grocery chains to find everything I need, I'd have to drive 20+minutes to a better HEB- because this one doesn't cut it. read more

When I see any HEB with a 3 star rating, my first thought is that these people must be spoiled with HEB options. Oh sure, I had the reconsidering second thought that every business has it's rocky times where maybe the best staff isn't in place or there are issues with vendors. However, I currently live in an area void of HEB's and I miss them so much that very little can stop me from a visit when I'm near one. It can't be denied that this location is much smaller than what I'm used to, but I still felt they had a great selection with great products and made the most out of their space. I came here with my husband and mother in law to get a few things we were missing for a cookout. My initial observations were that everything was stocked, I saw no outs on this visit and I went through about 3/4 of the aisles. I also found them well organized and easy to navigate. We entered on the left hand side by the frozen section, the meat department, deli, bakery is on the far right. I cannot comment on the selection of the produce, bakery and deli besides to say that I saw them there and they seemed like a good size considering the overall square footage of the store. We had split up at this point to get the remaining items so we could get into line and get to the next errand, so I wasn't able to see the prices and product that well. However, I did spend quite a bit of time in frozen, grocery, dry goods and condiments compared to my walk through of a majority of the store. I was extremely pleased to see that despite thinking this location was small, each item I looked for was not only present but had at least 4 different brand options or multiple flavors. That even includes minor items like condiments, where many stores (especially those known to have lower prices) sacrifice variety to make room for other items. I was searching for bbq sauce for my stepson and was surprised that an entire 4 foot section of options was available at excellent prices. My husband was thrilled at the hot sauce selection and that he found several items he had wanted to try because they were featured on Hot Ones. Quality wise, everything we got was wonderful. As I stated, I could see they kept the items well stocked, but I could also taste it. For example, the ice cream we got was extremely creamy and extra delicious. That's a clear indicator it hadn't been on the shelf too long and that they follow proper rotating protocol, instead of lazy front stocking that can eventually result in leaving only expired product available. They have a great meat department too. The quality of the sausage was excellent and the seasoning on the porkchops was a crowd pleaser. I didn't have any, but others really liked the chicken we got as well. The variety available gives options to those who want to chef it up with their own flare, as well as those who are limited on time and want something that's already prepared. As far as pricing goes, a majority of items are cheaper than a trip to a Kroger. Sure, some items are on par or potentially a few cents more than other stores, but so many items are also cheaper than a Walmart. This guarantees that if you are getting multiple items you're overall receipt will save you a few bucks. Combined with the offerings they have, this is a good value at a place that qualifies as a one stop shop. While there, I noticed the staff was mainly up front, either manning registers or near them. As we emerged by an endcap, I guess an employee saw me point towards the entrance we came in as I was speaking to my husband. I was indicating that I thought the restrooms were in front of the registers on that side. Though he was about 10 feet from me and hampered in between two lines of customers and a small display in front of him, he still gestured to me and asked if he could help me find something. He then reconfirmed the location of the restrooms with a smile. The woman at checkout was also friendly and worked efficiently through the line. The sacker was extremely polite. Seriously, no complaints! Next time we're in the area visiting family, I'll be back. read more

This is in regards to heb bakery. Saw a really neat design for my nephews birthday and definitely excited to get it for him. Anyways, did my order online and even called to confirm that everything was good to go for pick up in two days. Came to pick up my cake an hour after I was suppose to due to errands, but to my surprise cake was not made. Waited approximately 30 minutes to find out that it was not even made which made me quite upset. However I give them a 2 stars as the service to quickly fix it was good. Took another 20-25 mins to create the cake. Definitely not outstanding work if it was done early as it was suppose to but she worked on it and it came out decent. Very disappointing but thank you to the staff who quickly jumped on it to fix it read more

I went to do my shopping and I do have a wic card, I got some milk and it was listed under WIC but when I checked it was not so I went back and try to find the right one, I got another one and when I checked again it was not the one so one lady that was in charge of the cashiers helped me out to find the right one, I had my son with me and it was hard for me to go back and she had to go and get several milks that were listed under WIC and she found it for me, it took a bit of time, other cashier lady that was there was very nice to me and a young man too, even if I think the store should be more specific with the list the team was a huge help to me. Forgot to write an update on this... so I literally had to chase down manager after manager at this store when I called in. I left messages for a return phone call and updates on how they will handle the situation. Nothing. I gave it 3 weeks with systematic weekly reminder calls that I was waiting a response, nada. So both my aunt and I wrote letters to corporate giving our story and we received a quick phone call asking us to retell the event in our own words, again. After that, we were told the situation would be handled, and thank you. Hopefully some retraining took place-only time will tell. Is it cherry season yet? :) read more

I must warn you, this is NOT your normal HEB -- it is an older grocery that never made it here. That being said -- the floors are jacked up, but polished up concrete. Its a VERY small HEB by any standards. However, they do have a deli and bakery, albeit smaller than most HEB's. I suppose this works for most people --- they do have a large selections of Organic veggies but they tend to spoil faster than normal, so I'd go elsewhere. I use it for my normal grocery shopping since its about $20/trip cheaper than Kroger, although I have to drive a bit to get there. But its cleaner, so I go here for my meats and cheeses. Overall, its just okay -- its an HEB -- its okay. Far better than my 2 local Krogers. But that isn't saying much. read more

I had stopped coming to this store all together about a year ago because every time I came here there were expired dairy products and frozen foods that had been allowed to thaw and then refrozen in the store freezer. I called the management. Showed store employees the items and I would come back days later and find the SAME items on the shelves. HEB headquarters told me they would see to it that this was rectified but apparently it has not. I came here today because it was convenient and got three items. While getting eggs I noticed the eggnog and thought I'd might get some for an event I'm hosting. But low and behold all the eggnog is expired. Today is 12-10-15 and the bottles all have a best by date of either 12-4 or 12-7. Not cool. Not safe. And of course the employees find this acceptable. read more

Very busy at the moment but they have extra staff so getting in and out with no issues at all. Very good selection of groceries as well. Fabulous! I love HEB! I am never let down (except for the one off of gessner and kempwood, don't go there) I entered through the produce section and immediately I saw Sushiya! Best sushi ever, and they always have samples. Today they had a San Antonio roll and a tempura roll, BOTH were scrumptious! Try it out! Excellent customer service if you're a little thrown off on where something is... They had EVERYTHING I needed and I am definitely making this my home HEB. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! read more
