Unfortunately, this review falls squarely in the latter category. I'm making an exception today because this was, hands down, the worst hotel stay I've ever had--especially shocking coming from a Residence Inn. Where do I even begin? From the moment I arrived, the service was atrocious. There's a sign instructing guests to press a button for entry if they haven't checked in yet--fine, understandable. What's not acceptable is having to push that button ten times while watching the front desk rep blatantly ignore me. I could see them, and they simply refused to acknowledge my presence. When I was finally let in and checking in, I had to remind the front desk staff to give me the complimentary water I'm entitled to as an Elite member. You'd think loyalty would be met with at least basic courtesy. Think again. Now let's talk about the room: dirty. Plain and simple. The walls and doors were scuffed, stained, and screaming for a fresh coat of paint--clearly neglected. For a property carrying the Residence Inn name, this room was far below standard. Then there's the blatant parking scam. Valet is $40 a night--no self-parking available through the hotel. If you want to self-park, you're forced to use a lot across the building, where the sign (inexplicably) says "$18 up to 1440 minutes." 1440 minutes is 24 hours, so I parked at 3 PM Saturday and checked out before 11 AM Sunday--far less than 24 hours. Guess what? Still charged full price, but for two days (totaling $36). Who even posts parking rates by minutes? Absurd. When I called the front desk to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager or supervisor available until the next day. Unacceptable. And when I brought up the parking issue, I was met with a shrug: "We're not responsible for that lot." Really? Here's a tip for Residence Inn management--if you force customers to use a specific parking option due to your lack of alternatives, you own that experience. Like it or not, perception is reality. And the reality is, this hotel is happy to charge like a premium brand but deliver like a discount motel. In summary: poor service, dirty room, price gouging, and a complete lack of accountability. I truly hope this review saves someone else the regret of staying here. I will never return to this location, and if this is any indication of how Residence Inn is run now, I may rethink my loyalty altogether. One star is too generous!

I am going to give Yelp the start to finish…read more 1st impression after move in June 2025 : 3 Stars: I was misled into believing that the unit that I signed my lease for had a balcony. I was told by the leasing office that all units had a balcony and the floor plan A3a shows a balcony. That was my one requirement and is my biggest and only issue because I am in a unit that does not have one. I think that the unit was placed under the wrong floor plan and now I feel stuck. The unit was pre leased before the old tenant moved out so all you have to go on are similar units that match your floor plan. Mine was not accurate. Since being at amli I love the space, vibes, I will be moving units which I've learned is not as much of a headache as it sounds apparently AMLI makes it easier to transfer units than to get in one initially so thank God. BUT the space is nice, my hallway always smells amazing (this can vary lol) it's quiet, dog friendly, great location (outside of me looking at construction but it's Atlanta) The concierge is always polite and helpful and I can see myself being completely happy once I get my view and balcony situation resolved. 2nd Impression After Amli addressed my concerns after reading my review: 5 stars : They read reviews guys! Mr.Victor from AMLI Arts, Mrs. Alakia from AMLI Lenox... The whole leasing office did everything that they could to make me happy and I am so appreciative and impressed with the effort, dedication and responsiveness of the leasing team, bravo! I am impressed and more likely to move up than out. 1000x Thank you! Final Impression after being able to change units: 4 Stars: The team worked with me and allowed me to transfer units sooner than the required 6 months. Thank you! The unit is infinitely more impressive and I am facing the opposite direction away from the construction and life is great! The space is great, the concierge is great (Specifically Devonte, I don't think the man gets a day off, but thanks for always being there and being so helpful). The floor plan matches the unit I selected. Suggestions: I paid cash for my deposit on the first unit... Use Jetty Bonds and just pay the monthly fee. They kept $115 of the $750 deposit on the move out from the original apartment because of holes from the paintings and wall mounts and they said they had to clean the stove and the microwave. I was only there from April-August. I would hope that they clean anyway before each tenant but no burnt food or stuck food, and the holes were smaller than a dime (and I spackled them before I left) butttt it comes out of your deposit. Jetty bond paid the new one so it will already be worth it with no money loss whenever I move out of this unit. Just something I learned... And I am pretty sure they blocked my number at the leasing office or they changed theirs lmao ... I don't blame them but dannnng. Whyyyyy is there always someone in there BUT NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE GD PHONE?! They use to be very responsive to phone calls, emails and voicemails, but now you just have to walk in... I have a few emails that have gone unanswered. The leasing office is great when you walk in.

Worst than going to TSA at the airport. It's really ghetto now and ran down. Don't believe the hype. They can't keep staff either. I gave it a one star because the only thing nice was my view from my balcony.

Despite the extra cost, the leasing office back then--especially Jessica and another white female staff member--was responsive, empathetic, and organized. I renewed my lease after the first year with zero hesitation. But things have changed dramatically. The new leasing team, particularly Caleb and Isaiah, has made my move-out experience deeply frustrating. I sent a written notice to vacate in April, well before my lease ended on June 3, yet I was hit with a surprise "Notice to Vacate" form assigning me a false move-out date of June 20 and charging me rent and month-to-month fees I never agreed to. Caleb sent me a handwritten PDF dated incorrectly (signed as 2029), ignored my lease's actual end date, and now insists that I owe prorated rent and additional fees all the way through June 30--despite my lease ending June 3 and the unit being cleaned and vacated on time. As if this wasn't enough, Building 1's elevator breaks constantly, and the office repeatedly sends inaccurate maintenance notices. They even sent two emails about the same holiday closure--one with the wrong date. The professionalism is gone. It's disappointing to see how far this property has fallen. I once viewed The Monroe as home. Now, I'm gathering documentation and speaking with legal counsel to contest these fees and protect my rights. I hope no other tenants--especially international ones--are taken advantage of like this.

I was assigned to work at the Monroe Apartments' package room on Friday July 7, 2023 at 2pm. I was having a hard time locating the package room, upon my arrival. Around 2:25pm I finally was able to get inside of the main building -- I saw the leasing office and one of the staff (the female with the blonde hair, who I feel is a racist; name JESSICA) exiting the office with two (Caucasian) males who appear to be . I introduced myself; showing JESSICA my credentials and access code via and informing her why I'm on the . I asked her how to navigate to the package room from the outside. I noticed her face begin to scrunch up while I'm talking. She responded with a unpleasant tone as her face remained scrunched, "well, why do you need to be here to notify the residence about their packages, don't they get notified when it arrives?" -- I again briefly explained to JESSICA the purpose and how works (perhaps maybe she forgot). Her face remains scrunched and I felt she was no help with answering my initial question, "how to navigate to the package room from the outside?" I said, "I will figure it out on my own, thank you" as I smiled and walked away. As I begin to walk down the hall to the package room, she and the two begins to make and - comments about me. They called me "a crazy" and "the wild," One of the Caucasian males said, "oh the crazies are out today" and the other male said "does the wild normally roam the property,"-- JESSICA replied back to them, "not normally" -- over hearing their - comments and conversation, I said "Excuse me, what did you say?" as I'm trying to enter my access code on the keypad of the package room. They replied, "we didn't say anything about you, we are talking about something else" -- the keypad was not working from the inside of that hallway. So I decided to vacate the property because I did not feel welcome. I left a Google review (originally posted Friday 7/7/2023) detailing my interaction with JESSICA. JESSICA contacted the team to inform them about my Google review; asking them to tell me to remove my review. She tells the team that I am unprofessional and that she spoke to and about me the way she did because I fit the description of someone who stole packages off the property. -- I feel like JESSICA racially profiled me. Even though I introduced myself and showed her my credential prior to "roaming" the hallway to the package room. -- I was left utterly confused and baffled about her reasons and justifications. I finally entered the package room via the outside entrance. JESSICA, was present. She made eye contact with me, scrunched her face and said in a stern tone, "can you come with me into my office?" -- I said, "Salutations, sure." We enter her office; "umm can you take down your review?" Was the first thing that came out of her mouth. I replied back, "I removed it already," -- another property manager enter the office. A gentleman (I believe his name is NATE) stood near the door. JESSICA, was trying to minimized her part and also defend the two Caucasian males part in the incident. "Had you said you were here to the packages I would have understood what you were saying," is what the JESSICA said. -- I responded with, "Audit? -- that's different; I'm not doing inventory on packages." -- she added, "well I didn't know who you were and I thought I needed to call security to have you removed from my property," she concluded as her face remained scrunched. I said, "you know what, I really want get back to my task-given-at-hand so I can quickly leave your property." I exit the office and proceeded back to the package room to complete my task and vacate the property, IMMEDIATELY!

The two residential managers I dealt with were Bethani and Jenny. The process was rather long and before signing the lease I mentioned to Bethany I was not interested in the apartment anymore. She didn't even respond. Months, almost a year goes by and the Collection Agency contacts me asking for $750 because Bethani made a claim stating that she had to "hold" the apartment for me when the apartment wasn't even ready to be moved into to begin with. ( I waited almost 3 months just to get the lease and was shown the mock apartment by Jenny because the actual apartment I wanted was not ready ) This lowered my FICO score and now I have to rebuild that as I am looking for an apartment. I know Buckhead is a place that most people would like to live but this is NOT the residence. There was always a struggle for information on when I could move in, how long it took to process documents and the holding fee was not mentioned otherwise I WOULD HAVE LOOKED ELSEWHERE. After pleading with the Collection Agency they ended up dropping it from $750 to $535 which is still a lot of money. In the end I am thankful I did not choose this residence because if the holding fee was $750 then I know there would be other POP UP fees involved later on.

After living here, I can honestly say I'm so happy I chose this community. In my experience, many of the concerns I had based on older reviews just haven't reflected the property or the current management team. Tamika was amazing throughout the entire process. Since I wasn't able to tour in person, she answered all of my questions, sent photos and videos, and made me feel confident signing my lease. I've lived in several luxury apartment communities, and while this is my first time living in an older unit, it truly feels like home. The apartment is incredibly spacious, the windows are huge, and my unit overlooks a creek, so it's quiet and peaceful. I also toured several newer, more expensive apartments around the city, and honestly, none of them offered the same amount of space or charm for the price. The property is also very well maintained. I rarely see trash or dog waste, even in the dog park, and the grounds are always kept up nicely. Everyone I've interacted with, from the office staff to the maintenance team to my neighbors has been friendly and welcoming. I also love that the community feels tucked away in its own little area. Even though it's close to everything, it's peaceful, and I feel safe walking around. Overall, I think this community offers great value, and I'm really glad I decided to make it my home.
