Very dark ambiance so bring your flash light and reading glasses but the music is perfect - not too loud that you can't hear your own thoughts. My friend and I ordered the Clarified Ube Colada, triple crown sliders and shoestring fries with aioli. When I tell you that Ube colada is the best drink I've ever tasted in my life! I thoroughly enjoy my dark beverages. But this..!!!! Tuh! It's a must try - slow to sip and a great balance of alcohol and sweet. The food was really tasty - no recommendations or substitutes needed. I went to the Pearl Club this evening for the Fantasy Bay Burlesque night. the vibes in there are immaculate & such a cool history with this building that has existed since 1890! The decor was elegant and swanky, the espresso martinis were delicious, the seating was very comfortable for me as a plus size and disabled person, and despite not advertising it there is an ADA bathroom on the main level in addition to the bathroom down the stairs. All the staff were super kind and friendly and the performers were so immensely skilled at their craft-- shout out to the burlesque artists Sugar Cane Jane, Honey Bee Rose, Nami Flare, Sassy Squire, and Chi Faguette an amazing night that I will never forget. We came without reservations and were able to snag the last tables which are small and pretty close to other tables. Hard to have a convo because of this but also it was loud in there. There was a DJ which was a plus. Service was quick. The Pearl was delicious although I've posted the Robert Emmet which was not bad. The AC vent on the ceiling kept dripping onto me at the table. It was dripping on the woman next to us too. We asked to move but there were no other tables. Eventually two seats opened up at the bar they let us snag. read more

What a hidden gem - no pun intended hahaha! We came on a Wednesday night so it wasn't overly crowded / there was live music. I didn't catch their names but the two guys were awesome!! Our server Jaesen was knowledgeable, helpful in guiding us, friendly and attentive without being pushy. Loved her energy - wanted to invite her to join us for a drink! Had a chance to meet the manager Isaac - also friendly and attentive, certainly leading good culture by example. And Omar at the bar mixed me a delicious mezcal sour (like a pisco sour) upon the creative request of our server whose idea this recipe was. The ambiance is totally speakeasy vibes without trying too hard - the velvet couches, dim lighting, and the fact that this was a bank servicing the mafioso bootlegging back in the day certainly added to the allure. Drinks are on the pricey side - $18 on average - but sadly that's become the new norm without delivering quality. This place is more like 3.5. I recently tried The Pearl Club for late night drinks with a friend on a weekday and the experience was good. It wasn't that easy to get a reservation as it was a cold wintery night on a weekday however it is advisable to book a spot ahead of time as they appear pretty busy on weekends. My friend and I ordered Espresso martinis to get started. We also ordered whipped ricotta with focaccia bread to share. The drinks were OK, nothing out of the blue. I have honestly tried Espresso martinis at multiple places now so my opinion may also be a bit biased but my friend echoed similar thoughts. Food was pretty good, it had honey and spicy salsa sprinkled over the ricotta which was a different twist. My only disappointment with this place is limited vegetarian options for food. My friend had a clarified pina colada that blew my face off! I had a tepache drink that had me considering taking up fermentation so I can attempt to replicate daily! The food is next level. So much precision, creativity, engineering and heart that goes into every bite. We had a few standouts! I still think about that passion fruit sorbet with chocolate shavings. But my forever favorite is the Clarified Ube Colada -- rum blend, pineapple, ube, coconut, and Meyer lemon. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this drink is -- creamy, smooth, tropical, with the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. I literally couldn't bring myself to order anything else, even during multiple rounds. My second favorite is The Pearl -- cucumber vodka, melon, Chareau, and lemon -- light, refreshing, and so easy to sip. The drinks, the vibe, and the service all make this place a winner. We were greeted by a good waitstaff will welcomed us. They have a small menu and large cocktail list. We ordered a gin gimlet, three sliders and shoestring French fries. The gimlet had whipped egg whites on top and a lemon base. The sliders are smalll but tasty. While we were there they were setting up for live music. Depending on the day they stay open either midnight or 2am. For one cocktail and food was about $50. This club is worth going back to. read more

I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag. One of the coolest spots for a cocktail or light bite. The decor is captivating and a mood by itself. On an unrelated tangent, I still can't believe it was a bank at one time. In terms of music and it's vibe, it's perfect for a night out with friends or a special someone. This past weekend, I chose Pearl to celebrate my birthday, expecting at least a baseline level of hospitality given my history with the venue. Instead, it was one of the most frustrating and unpleasant experiences I've had going out in a long time. Ahead of the event, we were told multiple times that reservations had to be split into parties of six and that we could request to have tables placed near each other. We followed those instructions exactly. The moment I walked in, the hostess immediately -- and quite rudely -- told us that accommodating this request was "not possible," despite the space clearly having availability. After unnecessary back-and-forth and involving a manager, we were eventually seated near each other anyway, proving the issue was never feasibility -- just attitude. The service throughout the night was exceptionally poor. Nearly every staff member we encountered came across as pretentious, irritated, and completely disinterested in providing even basic courtesy. No warmth, no attentiveness -- just an overwhelming sense that guests were an inconvenience. It's honestly a shame. Pearl is a beautiful space, but it has become so self-important that it's forgotten the fundamentals of hospitality. 1 star is generous -- I would not recommend. read more

Visited this bar as part of a stop on a St Patrick's Day trolley bar crawl last weekend. We spent about an hour there, and several things raised concerns. 1. My sister missed a step on their staircase because the bar is very dimly lit. The manager witnessed this misstep and immediately asked her to leave, claiming she was "over served." She had yet to purchase a drink at this bar because she spent the first 30+ minutes waiting in line for the women's restroom. 2. The women's restroom line was extremely long, and several women were aggressively using the men's restroom instead. One of my guy friends was in a stall and had women banging on the door and yelling that he was taking too long. 3. I saw a woman walk in with a full backpack hidden under her coat. When security asked what was in it, she said "chips," and they allowed her in without inspecting the bag. That felt concerning from a safety standpoint. 4. The manager, Calvin, was very dismissive and cold when I tried to have a conversation with him about the events surrounding my sister's dismissal. He continued to insist she was over served and suggested she wait outside in the "nice weather." It was 30° and snowing. Figuring this conversation was going no where, I began chatting with one of the hostesses. I was asking for her recommendations where my group should go next in the area. During this convo I used an adjective that rhymes with duck and the manager, who was listening in, told me I had to leave because he claimed I was "swearing at his staff." No one was swearing at anybody? 5. Added this one last minute, after reading the owner's response to a previous review from another member of my group. I question the validity of his reply to save face. I personally went down to the women's restroom moments before I left, and waited in line with two female staff members who did not mention any closure. Additionally, we were told that The Pearl Club was closed to the public and reserved exclusively for our event. We were on one of the morning trolleys and there were two afternoon trolleys that were scheduled for 4pm and 6pm. Why would the bathrooms be closed to prepare for the public around 3/30pm when there was still multiple trolleys scheduled for the afternoon? It's unfortunate because the space itself is cute and intimate, and the hostesses and wait staff we interacted with were kind. However, the management response and overall experience make it unlikely I would return. I understand bars get busy during St. Patrick's Day weekend, but basic safety, communication, and professionalism should still apply. read more

Manager is worthless too, when I pointed out the empty tables and the fact that standing customer are willing to stay longer and spend more money than the no show recervations they still don't see the flaw on their reservations only business model.
