Pediatric center has two locations, VCC and short pump. They have like 20 doctors and all are amazing and very knowledgeable. They are also super friendly and truly love their job working with the little ones up to18. Anyhow, my favorites and some of the most popular drs are Dr Walter Chun, Dr. Sharp, Dr. Carolyn Port and Dr Tull. Chun and Tull are the most popular. They give great medical advice. You are in great hands with these drs. read more

I have been taking my daughter to Dr. Port since birth. She is awesome... the most thoughtful and caring pediatrician Ive ever seen. she knows my daughter on site, and takes the time to make her feel comfortable while explaining everything I need to know. As for the office.. I dont understand why it takes so long to get inside to your doctor. what is the point of a scheduled appt time if its still going to be a 45 plus minute wait. I dont unerstand that because when you finally get taken to the room, theres yet another 30 minute wait for the doctor to come in. I know theyre busy, but that waiting is annoying. luckily, we love Dr. Port so we are willing to wait for her. one nice touch about check in was theyve upgraded their system to use a tablet to check in, its quick and easy and I was even able to pay my co pay with it. I liked this new gadget, it made check in faster. read more

yesterday I was 09/08/2021 in this clinic I had an appointment for my daughter it was the first time my appointment was at 2:00 I arrived 10 minutes before and the receptionists who had like 3 nurses in charge of registering moved my appointment to 3:30 already All those who came from me used to go to their appointments, I really think they are racist because just look at what black and white people showed up. I am Latina. That just wasted my time and I am not going to go back there of course from my part I do not recommend them read more

3 seperate "Doctors" have completely dismissed my 4.5 mo old daughters red eye. The issue has been present for several months. They say oh it's probably just a clogged duct. Her eye is red and has discharge. Been happening on and off since she was roughly 6 weeks. Then I call and get upset about them dismissing it and they say well maybe you should go see a specialist.... isn't that their job to refer me somewhere.. isn't it their job to give me a diagnosis instead of continuously dismissing the issue visit after visit.. telling me it looks fine.. NO, no it does not.. They simply do not care. read more

This is a great group of doctors that I highly recommend. My primary doctor is Dr. Fortner, but we've seen many of the doctors there and are happy with all of them. The entire staff is so nice and helpful and don't make me feel silly for calling about little things. The office is always clean and there's usually a kid movie playing in the waiting room. I've never had to wait too long for my appointment - the only time we had a long wait our doctor had an emergency with another patient. I definitely recommend this practice - we're going to be moving in a couple of years and I am going to miss them - I hope I can find doctors this good in our new location! Dr. Fortner especially is so nice and really tries to make my baby comfortable during the exam. She takes time to listen to our questions and gives us advice without being critical of our choices. read more

Our 16 month old has seen Dr.Tull at the VCC location ever since she was born and we have nothing but good things to say about her. Ellie had a little bit of a weight issue in the beginning and became jaundiced and Dr. Tull was so patient with us through all of that. I had noticed here and there that the front desk staff weren't as friendly but it wasn't anything to get upset over. Unfortunately, the experience I had today made me decide to leave this practice and to establish care with Hanover pediatrics. On October 2nd, I called and made an appt for my daughter to get a flu shot for today at 3pm. I worked a 13 hour night shift last night and got off this am. I thought about getting some sleep but I decided not to take a chance, in case I wouldn't be able to wake up in time to take Ellie in for her flu shot. I drag my sleepy self in with a cranky 16 month old, only to have them tell me they didn't have an appt made for me. Instead of being remotely apologetic for the fuck up, the person working the front desk is asking me who I spoke to when I made the appt and what number I called. Huh? Why would I write down the name of the person I make a flu shot appt with? I feel bad that we won't get to see Dr.Tull anymore, but glad that I don't have to deal with the unprofessional people working the front. read more

Great practice. We don't wait long to be seen and they are very accommodating in regards to sick visits. Over the years we've seen several doctors and nurse practitioners and have liked every single one. Most importantly, so has my daughter. read more

Dr.Sharp is very sweet and knowledgeable. I enjoy the fact that there is a 24hr line to call and you can easily get an emergency appointment at one of the facilities. The nurses and front office staff are sweet. There is also a sick and well area in the office. read more

We absolutely love our Dr. Port. However from the front desk to the wait in the room not so much. Waiting 30 minutes after appointment time for a quick sick appointment in the room is not acceptable. Especially for the first appointment. Not very quick and it's just pink eye. Arg. read more

Since moving to the area, I was nervous about finding all new doctors. I definitely have had a good experience here. The staff and doctors are great. Both my daughters see Dr. Port and we've seen Dr. Robinson too...both great. I have never had a long wait, they get seen pretty quickly. Nice and easy. I really wanted to love this office. But after multiple issues I am done. The carpet and the whole office looks dirty to me. I took my child for a sick visit and there was ear wax splattered on the wall.....ok, gross! But I gave them a pass because I realize sometimes they might not clean the walls every day. Then I had a baby 6 months later and brought him to the same room....guess what was still there?! Ear wax on the wall! It looked the exact same! So that made me feel horrible about bringing my 2 day old into the dirty office. I had to see a different doctor than normal because my dr wasn't available with a week notice. So, the new dr new nothing about us. She ordered a bilirubin when my baby was not in high risk zone. Then I came back on their advice a week later even though things were great. He had gained more than an ounce a day! Things looked great! I got a bill a week later for both visits with charges for feeding issues, skin infection and jaundice! None of which my baby had! So they essentially committed fraud! I ended up paying for 2 visits that should have been normal newborn checkups. It's wrong that doctors can get away with that! read more

I've been taking my son to this office for the past 7 years. His recent office visit at the Eastern location, was April 5, 2019. I took him in for a follow up for allergies. He was seen by Dr. Deweerd, our first visit with her. My son advised her his head, throat, and stomach was hurting. She advised it's from his throat being inflamed and draining causing those symptoms. She then prescribed allergy medicine. Although he had a bad chronic like cough, in which she heard and stated it's from the allergies. I asked if he needed antibiotics for the inflammation to help cure it and she stated it wouldn't help due to inflammation and to use the allergy medicine to clear up the issue. In turn, we traveled out of town and my son stated his head was hurting really bad as well as his stomach. I followed the doctors orders and gave him his medicine as indicated. The next day, Saturday he was really sluggish and the medicine nor abuterol was providing relief. He felt very warm and out of tune so I took him to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with a fever of 103 and pneumonia. I feel the doctor could have done more during our office visit and should have found the same diagnosis if she had properly treated/diagnosed my son and not just going with a diagnoses of the naked eye. As he told her of his pains, and it's documented he has breathing problems, an xray should have been done or he should have been sent somewhere to have one performed. This is the second time he has been misdiagnosed from this location and I'm very disappointed with the low level of care your staff has for their pediatric population. My son could have had seizure or even possibly died due to the high fever, let along walking around with pneumonia with me thinking he's having an allergy outbreak. As parents, we entrust the medical staff to provide quality of care and relief to our children and lately, this practice hasn't been doing neither. I wouldn't recommend anyone else to this office. I reached out the office manager a week ago and she's has yet to follow up with me. I would highly recommend using a more PEDIATRIC FRIENDLY PRACTICE TO care for your children. read more

We love our pediatrician and this practice. They are always so helpful, both over the phone and in person. The nursing staff is always warm and ready to help your child feel better. I have not had to wait long at all to see my doctor, as some of the reviews have mentioned. Perhaps it depends on which doctor you are visiting or which location. We use their main location in Glen Allen. Dr. Robinson is so knowledgable, I highly recommend him to new patients! They also have sick visits available so that you can call at 7am and schedule a visit between 8:30-9:30 on the same day, which is very convenient when you have a little one who falls ill. read more

An absolute nightmare. Several hours after a minor household accident we took our child in just to be seen by a doctor. Just in case. The child was happy, talking, and playing. The pain was gone and things were pretty much back to normal. This routine visit became a forced ambulance ride we told them we didn't want, to a hospital we told them we didn't want to go to, and an overnight stay "for observation" that is going to cost our family thousands of dollars. I have never felt so abused as a patient and so powerless as a parent, and I will never take my children to this clinic again. It is hard to find words that can adequately express just how angry and frustrated we are. I should note that nothing at all came of this apparently dire situation, and the hospital we apparently so desperately needed treated our child with Neosporin and Tylenol.
