The Imperfect Light! I had been a customer of this company for 5 years. Last year the install went well and we enjoyed our Christmas lights. However, when it came to taking the lights down, they couldn't have been more careless. I watched one man and his 10 year old son rip the lights from my roof, yank the lights off my bushes and shove everything carelessly into a small box. They left broken plastic clips all over my yard and even left screws with wire sticking out from the sides of the house where the wreaths hung. I emailed and called the Perfect Light asking to get things cleaned up and they never responded. After spending over an hour cleaning up the mess they left, I vowed not to use them again. I called multiple times over the next 3 weeks asking to have my lights returned to me. Not a single call was returned. I decided to wait until we were closer to the holiday season this year to ask again. I waited for the customary email to come in October asking about scheduling my install, but it never came. After several more unanswered calls, I finally got someone who said, "oh, your email address is not in our system". They somehow lost all my contact information. I asked why my previous phone calls were never returned and how I could suddenly be left off the list. The person I spoke with had no answers. She put me in touch with my local rep who called the next day to get me scheduled. When I told him about all my problems, all he said was, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do and by the way, we can't install your lights until mid-December because we're booked solid". I stated that I needed a substantial discount to even consider remaining with the company. The response was sorry but the price is the price. No willingness to help at all. I finally asked for my lights to be delivered to my house and it took more than a week to have them delivered. Once I did have the lights, half of the yard stakes were broken, almost 1/3 of the lights would not light and everything was a jumbled mess of knots. Clearly the result of the carelessness from removal last year. For a company that touts their Christian values, I am surprised that they care so little about doing the right thing and righting their wrongs. This holiday season will be a little less bright because of their careless attitude. read more

I have used the Perfect Light (PL) to buy, store and install my Christmas Lights for the past 10 years. While price increased, the quality of service has deteriorated over the past couple of years. It is common for installation to omit the wreath, garland installed incorrectly, lights not working and installation not completed until December. When you call PL, they are courteous and tell you what you want to hear " I am sorry and I will complete the work order to get it corrected". Of course there was no corrective action the last couple of years. I called PL to schedule my installation this year and my project manager is Cade, the same person who repeatedly told me he would take care of my issues last year. We had a discussion on how last year's issues were not resolve and what changes had been made to improve service this year. This year PL offered a $100 discount for a Nextdoor App recommendation. I stated I could not recommend PL based on the previous year's performance. I proposed taking advantage of the $100 discount and if and when the PL installation was completed as promised, I would recommend PL. I received a call later that day from Cade stating PL was severing our relationship and he would complete the work order to drop off my lights which arrived the next day. My first response was PL has no confidence in their ability to honor commitments and deliver the services they advertise. I have never worked with a company so quick to get rid of a long term customer. read more

Horrible customer service. The broke an outdoor light while installing my Christmas lights. They didn't even have the decency to tell us. Luckily our neighbor saw what happened. My wife talked to Holly their project manager who told us it would be fixed within the next few days. Well two weeks later Holly will not return our calls and nobody has come out to fix anything. They say to have a blessed day when you call customer service. Maybe it is because you need an act of God to get them to stand by what they do. Hypocritical to me. It took them over a month to come and install simple switch and some minor light repair. Work they did is solid, how ever, it took them over a month again to bill me for services rendered. And it took over 5 phone calls to get it done. And when they received my payment it took another 3 phone calls to get receipt. The people working at this company are either inconsiderate or incompetent. I would not recommend anyone consider using this company. We were installing Christmas Lights on a newly acquired house. The previous owner said they had custom lights and sold with the property. We called the company and inquired if they were LED or incandescent lights. They stated they were LED so we requested they deliver the lights to the house. It took over a month and a dozen phone calls to get them to finally deliver the lights. When they finally delivered the lights and decorations, the light were incandescent and decorations were in terrible shape. They didn't even use UV rate material on the wreath which cause them to turn blue. We just threw all the stuff away. The office staff either lied or didn't even check to see if the lights were LED or Incandescent. This caused a waste of my and the crew of installers time. They even had to divert their crew of 4 installers to drive an hour to and from another install to diver crap. read more

I am giving this unprofessional company one star because you can't give them zero or negative stars. I called on the morning of November 4th to make an appointment which was set for Wednesday November 13th. The day before the appointment Sarah called to let me know they had double booked somehow it never happens but it somehow did and they would need to reschedule me for another time. They said the soonest time was November 22nd, ten days out. I guess I should have known better than to accept the rescheduled appointment but well accidents do happen so I trustingly accepted the new appointment. So Today November 21 st Sarah left me a message that she was calling about my appointment tomorrow and they would be cancelling this appointment because well gosh darn it wouldn't you know they had taken all the business they could handle but if I wanted to waitlist for next year they could get me on their schedule next year no doubt to cancel on Me again!! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They held me hostage for almost a month waiting on them to tell me to get lost. I declined their kind offer to screw me around again next year. I would pay another company twice as much before I would ever talk with this unprofessional group ever again!! They are really good at charging your credit card but not good at completing the job. I have been a customer for over 5 years but this year will be the last. They put up the Christmas lights in early November without installing the plug/and timer. It is December 13 and we still do not have lights that work. I called the Perfect Light to come out for an estimate on our house because I received a letter from them stating that they had done the install on our home and were interested in obtaining our business. They sent out a representative with an extension cord and he proceeded to try to sell us a Christmas light install. We were fine with a quote, but were interested in getting our lights working properly. He ran some tests and said that he would come back the next day to finish what he had started and give us a quote. He never called and never came back (I still have his extension cord!). They do not stand behind their product, I have had issues since installation, they have come out several time to try to repair but it ends up the same way - not working. We found The Perfect Light on Angies List and chose them because they had by far the highest rating. Im surprised at their score on here because they are truly fantastic. They do a great job but couple it with awesome service. We have a bungalow in Parkdale Heights in Dallas. They first came out for a free consultation. Asked what we wanted, gave us design tips and what features of the house they wanted to make stand out. Then they actually put up a temporary lighting system to see if we like it. It was beautiful and the shadows they created were awesome. Then they schedule the actual install. We were unable to stay til the end so our guy Cody came back the next night to make sure we loved it. We definitely recommend The Perfect Light and ask for Cody! read more

I have used Cody and the Perfect Light on 2 occasions, and would again if I had more yard! He first light the front of my house, which made such a dramatic impact that neighbors (who I rarely see) called and asked who did the work. Two neighbors have now used Cody for their own lighting. When we relandscaped the back yard, I knew that Cody would be part of the equation. Our back yard now has that 'spa' feel that we were hoping for. Perfect light installed our yard lights 16 years ago. In short we will never use this company again. We had an electrician at the property that identified issues, post a Perfect Light service, that were dangerous for our family. We called Perfect Light and the owner responded. We simply asked him to get our lights working and eliminate the safety issues with the pool lights. He was dismissive, rude and ultimately told us that he could not help us. After asking for $350 to access the safety and lighting issues, he deferred us back to our pool cleaning service to correct the problems. Clearly this Perfect Light no longer has qualified people or the capacity offer qualified services. We strongly recommend you do not employ the perfect light. read more

We signed an expensive contract with Perfect Light for our Christmas lights and our experience has been unsatisfactory with them from the start and they have hit rock bottom now we have been in the construction business for over 40 years. This company gives subs a bad name because of their customer service. But when they called and want to come early and I told them ok around Thanksgiving would be fine and they showed up the first week of November a little early for me but ok. it is a blessing we were home because the crew had no ideal what they were supposed to be doing and had we not been home we would have found garland and a wreath screwed into my brand new hardy siding with fresh new paint. Terrible time with install, the crew did not know what they were supposed to be doing and my wreath bows were all crushed and looked pitiful I had to get out there and try to fix the ones I could reach and trying to get them to come back out and take the lights down. terrible customer service I have been calling since January 5th to get them to come take them down and actually store them again but every time I called the office I have had to leave a message no one calls me back and if you do get someone on the phone they cannot tell you anything but they promise to call you back and find out where you are on the schedule. they never call you back, this happened to me twice. Well finally my husband had enough and he called and went through two girls in the office and she apologized for all the problems and promised they would be here by Saturday to take the lights down. My husband told her if they were not here by Saturday not to bother to come because he would hire someone else to take them down and store them for next year and for a much cheaper price.This was a Tuesday well Saturday and guess what no Perfect Light so we had to hire someone else to take them down and that was another $200. My husband did not cut her any slack on the phone and I am sure he will be calling her back Monday morning.They charge way too much money for the service they provide. Terrible customer service. I am not sure about other Yelp user experiences, but we have nothing but praise for the great job The Perfect Light did on our outdoor moonlights and house lighting. Their pricing was 30% less than other companies for the same scope of work, and they even came out on a Saturday to get our lights installed in time for a party, even though our install was not scheduled until the following Wednesday. And not a dime in overtime or rush charges. They did it as part of their normal service. The crew was on time and professional, with Cody Gilcrease, project manager, being the key to the great service. My partner and I plan to use them for our Christmas lights. They did not wear their religion on their sleeves, either. Totally professional. read more
