It's always a little nerve-wrecking when your dogs go to a new groomer, even if the groomer is with a trusted establishment you're familiar with. My dogs, a pair of Bedlington terriers, had a great groom by Emily and Amber at the Pet Barber today. I wasn't quite sure if I'd be picking up a poodle, a schnauzer, or a doodle at the place, as I have in the past from other places where the groomers only knew the popular breeds and cuts. We were so happy the girls looked like proper bedlingtons when they were picked up! They came home clean, neat and relaxed, too. Our dogs are pets, not show dogs, so we just want them to be clean and comfortable; to look like their breed is truly icing on the cake! They do a great job, but are outrageously expensive. Should have Sr. Citizen Discount or longtime customer discounts. I know its a lot of work but then you are expected to tip on top of the high price and that is a bit annoying when they ask you. I would suggest they don't ask you and let you decide on your own. I love Pet Barber and/but what's most important is that my Schnoodle Stelly loves Pet Barber and her groomer, Noe! Beyond his always doing a super job, he has the sweetest countenance with Stelly and today surprised us with a sweet pink-flower collar because I showed him a pic of my 2-year-old grandniece in her flower girl dress. Pet Barber is worth the wait for an appointment! I was blown away but the attention to detail on the groom for my x-large doodle. Amber greeted my pup and took the time to understand my grooming goals and helped craft the cutest teddy bear face I could have hope for. The staff here is friendly and I love the atmosphere. The facilities are clean and the pups are well attended. I left my dog for grooming and play dates which was a great bonus. The staff was great about monitoring him during play time and called me with updates on his behavior and temperament throughout the day. This location is next to the Whataburger on Westheimer and was a bit hard for me to find, the first time around. There are parking spaces out front and parallel parking as well. It was easy for me to make a last minute appointment, 2 days prior. I like this place because they have a cage free option for my pups while they wait for their grooming. Also, they call you as soon as your dog is groomed so they don't have to wait there all day. I have a goldendoodle and a cockapoo and they have always come back happy, looking great, and smelling amazing. The groomers here have always listened patiently to my recommendations and have consistently done a great job. Side note: I come here consistently every 8-10 weeks so they are rarely matted. Pricing has gone up a bit lately, but it's been worth it, in my opinion. I definitely recommend this place! read more

The Per Barber has been a staple for our pup since we first got her (4 years ago). The place is clean, and staff is friendly. And I know she has fun when she's there even though she's never been keen on her grooming. Lyndsay (her groomer) is a big part of that. Phoebe loves Lyndsay and so do we! I wanted to love this place. This was dog's first time going to the groomers for a bath, deshedding, and nail trim. The staff were nice and the process was quick. They said she did really well during her visit. I made the mistake of only checking her nails and now she has a few small scabs. I called to check if anything occurred and if she may have been brushed too hard during the deshedding. The person I spoke with said she wasn't and the groomer noticed she had a skin condition so they did not brush. I wanted to clarify if the deshedding was completed he assured me that it was but some of the information was conflicting. He said if anything happened they would've let me know. This has never happened when I bathe and brush her. And it could be a reaction to the products used. I did like the process just be sure to carefully examine your pet before leaving. read more

Since I have started taking them to Paul & his crew at The Pet Barber, they actually get excited when we get there. Not only are they extremely skilled at grooming - no one else cuts my dogs hair this well! - they are genuinely some of the nicest, most compassionate, and caring people I could ever leave my dogs with. Super friendly, accommodating people that work here! My dog gets pretty anxious about the groomer and I was nervous about her sitting in a kennel for a while when she waited. They have an awesome add on your can do for $10 that gives your dog access to basically doggy day care/cage free while they wait! So not only do you get to pick up your dog who is freshly groomed, but they're also exhausted from playing! Pretty affordable I'd say for all that they offer! I've been to some groomers that charge more and my dog still comes to me with some tangles in her hair. Overall very happy with this spot and will be continuing to get my pup groomed there! read more

Unfortunately, your response was not accurate. I spoke with an individual who identified himself as management. I attempted to explain my concern, however, he did not seem interested and we tended to talk over each other. We agreed I would not be returning with my dogs to your establishment. I, did really like the way Victoria groomed my OES, she listened, made recommendstions and was extremely professional. Y'all also said my dog was difficult but when I asked Victoria about her behavior she said she was excitable about the dryer but not unexpected for a dog that was not groomed regularly. We then arranged for her to be groomed every 5 weeks. This would have been for the OES and the St. Berdoodle. All in all, your customer service, in my opinion, was really unprofessional and rude!
