We're new to the Houston area and have passed CityPaws many times on our drives. This was the first grooming experience in Texas for our Golden and Border Collie and it was 5-stars from start to finish! Great communication from the owners; being able to text was very convenient- we sent vaccination records through text, questions, as well as pictures for reference for grooming. They groomed both pups exactly as we asked while also giving advice for the new environment we're living in. They look absolutely stellar and it was SO QUICK! In at 10am, out by 12pm on a Tuesday. We will be back! Thanks so much CityPaws!

Staff is awesome and friendly! Due to a hiccup with our previous groomer (that we had been with for multiple years )- we gave City Paws a try. Please understand we are careful with our 2 Sheepadoodles grooming - so in a pinch we were highly referred to CityPaws. We've only been there twice but will be returning for sure as long as they will have us.The owner is always present and in the game. They are very accommodating and professional. Our fur babies look fantastic-the best they have ever looked and happy when they leave. CityPaws Grooming for us is now our go to groomer. They genuinely care for our fur babies. Thank you guys!!

My dogs were City Paws newbies this weekend. I came across this business exploring dog-related pages in Instagram. I have followed them for over 6 months and decided to finally give them a try. I absolutely loved the photo shoots they did with their dogs after their grooms were completed. Their grooming seemed so professional and well-done. Marley and Ziggy looked great after getting their little sPAW treatment. I went for summer cuts for both of them since it was so hot but wanted to keep that cute teddy bear face and fluffy tail on both of them. Marley is my senior dog and he looked like the young pup he used to be when they finished his groom. It melted my heart. The prices are comparable to other dog grooming salons. The owner was so sweet and personable.

I honestly love it here, everyone at citypaws that I have come in contact with has been so pleasant and so understanding. They take such good care of my dog and he looks soooo good when he leaves! Even though he can be a little difficult, they always take the best care of him. The communication with the type of cut is always appreciated and elite, I am newer to the houston area this past year and it's been a blessing finding Citypaws to take care of Frankie, thanks guys!

Love this place! Came here for the first time and I can definitely tell you I will be coming back. Dani, the owner, is very detailed, knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does. She goes over the price and grooming breakdown so you are aware of what is going to be done which is super smart as other places like PetSmart don't do this. Next, this place does not use those cages to dry up your dog like PetSmart or other groomers. The owner has a very well ventilated salon and it's very secured so you don't have to worry about your pooch running out. Also they are all highly trained and certified. Lastly, we stopped going to Petsmart's and other groomers in the heights because my pup would always come back scared and breathing heavily due to exhaustion. Today was the first day my pup came back smiling and super happy! I will definitely come back and I highly recommend others to come here as Dani knows what she does and is super caring to the dogs!

Awful!! They poodled my doodle. I was recommended to this place by a friend, so I took the chance, and skipped our normal go-to groomer. Huge mistake!! I texted Monday to schedule an appointment with them Saturday at 10am. When I arrived, nobody was at the front desk, and one of the groomers had to check us in. She reviewed our paperwork multiple times before asking another groomer if it was "okay". Prior to leaving, she told me she would give me a call to ask about her cut. They didn't give me a call until 2pm to ask how I wanted her cut. I told them 1.5, scissor around the face and ears, trim privates, etc. You would think since they "specialize in doodles, per their Instagram page" they would understand. She wasn't finished until 4:30pm. So why even schedule me at 10am?! When my bf sent me photos, I couldn't believe we got the same dog back. They cut her hair wayyyy too short!!! She wasn't matted so why shave her down?! Definitely seems like they overbooked and rushed this job. Customer service was also awful. When I texted them I was unsatisfied with the cut, the only thing they said was, "Sorry, I'll make sure to note it for next time". I'm sorry, but there won't be a next time.

    He looks so cute!!

We're new to Houston and this was our first time trying City Paws. I could not believe how cute my little Bentley looked when I picked him up! They made my nearly 13 year old shitzu look like a puppy again!! I could not be more happy!! We will definitely be going back.

I went yesterday to give my baby girl a grooming and spa service and I specificity ask for a type of haircut because I love my dog's hair and they dis the opposite of what I told them. I was hopping to much more because the girl was so nice and it sounded that she knew what she was doing, but I literally cry when I saw my Lady.

Took our 5 month old Havanese here for her first grooming. They did a very nice job and even allowed me to send picture examples of what i wanted. I was pleasantly surprised they even called me prior to grooming to suggest a longer cut so my pup would still be fluffy. She came out very cute. Several friends with similar dogs that went to other groomers did not have good experiences like I did. I will be back and they will be going here too.

I can't say enough positive things about this groomer! We have tried 4 different places in Houston and I think we've found a winner. Not only is the communication great with the staff, but they listened to my concerns and wants for my pups cut. When I came to pick her up, they communicated even more about what they did and the errors they saw from the previous groomer (I mentioned those as I dropped her off) and they made sure I was satisfied. My pup came out with a smile on her face and so much energy. You can tell she was treated well inside and I will definitely be taking her back!

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

At the time, Pop Tart and I had known each other for only about a month. I was still potty training her, I knew very little about her previous training and I had no idea how she would behave around other dogs. She was sweet, but I live in Downtown Houston, and downtown life frightened her. That random recommendation from a stranger was a blessing! Today, all I have to say is, "Do you want to go to school?" Pop Tart immediately knows what I mean. We drive there with her window down, she recognizes the route and she can barely wait to get out of the car. Once inside, she makes a point of greeting every single member of the front office staff before she is escorted back to play. The shy dog I adopted has become confident, social and playful... a little bit bossy! Pop Tart plays well with big dogs, small dogs and takes every opportunity to zoom. For those of us who live in downtown apartments, having a safe, consistent place with both indoor and outdoor play areas is invaluable. I love that the wood fence protects the dogs from being watched or triggered by the street. BLDH has also become an important part of our community. I have met other pet parents through the business and some of our dogs now have play dates outside of school. Her 'classmates' even came to Pop Tart's birthday party! ***My entire family follows BLDH on social media because everyone feels invested in Pop Tart's days there. And they're obsessed with the content.*** The quality of care is deeply personal. Everyone knows Pop Tart. They send photos, communicate quickly and call whenever something is off, whether she has an upset stomach or has rolled herself in chalk!!! Kerry is easy to reach by email and is often available to talk in person. The daycare team is first class. We have also used training, grooming and boarding. Angel is an excellent trainer who provides detailed updates, thoughtful advice and homework that has helped both Pop Tart and me. Pop Tart now walks beautifully on a leash, can sit, lie down and stay, and I know how to redirect her when necessary. Cris has somehow managed to get her to enjoy bath time. When work emergencies have happened, BLDH has even accommodated last-minute boarding requests. That has been HUGE for me! I love that the business is locally owned, cage-free and genuinely designed around the comfort of the little dogs. Boarding dogs sleep on beds, not in cages. The online booking system is easy, the events calendar helps me plan my schedule and their social media updates about activities and last-minute grooming availability are useful. They also offer thoughtful extras, including CPR classes and lower weekend daycare rates. I do not trust anyone else to watch Pop Tart when I am away. BLDH gives her fun, exercise, structure, affection and a place where she feels completely at home. They give both of us individual attention and I truly believe they care about our lives, not simply our business. These are dog lovers who get paid to love our dogs. That is what makes this place so special.

Upon picking him up, it was discovered that the hair in his head was indeed cut. After contacting Eddie to inform him of the matter, he then conveyed to me that José, the technician, stated that he "felt disrespected" and that services to our dog would be discontinued. Eddie went on to say that because of the dog's disposition- there are no other techs who desired to "put up with him" and "José was the only tech who would groom him." The irony is: If in fact the dog were so unmanageable, amazingly, Eddie would call my friend to see when would she be bringing him in. If the dog were that bad, his services should have been refused 2 years ago. The final analysis- Eddie told me that he would refund me the money from the last service and that due to the dog's disgruntled disposition- there was a TLC fee, which we have never seen, prior to that day. As a patron, it was NEVER about the money. It was about José failing to follow instructions and when the issue was addressed, the company assumed a stance of victimization, which resulted in poor customer service.
