We take our dog in to have nails ground, she is very fearful, first time was the owner and it was great! Last 3 times we got different people, one did great, the other 2 did horrible jobs. So I have two Westie-Shih-Poo mix pups and I took them to The Pet House. Hannah was their groomer and she did a SENSATIONAL job. Much better and much less expensive than PetsMart. I've seen a couple of negative comments and all I can say is that sometimes you get better treatment when you treat people that way you'd like to be treated. Everyone there was helpful and friendly and my dogs were very happy and relaxed when I picked them up. My advice? Make your own judgment instead of reading about what other people have to say. My grandma used to say you get what you pay for and I agree 100%. Prices on everything have gone up and we can't expect these folks, that work their butts off, to not have been affected. If you feel you've been wronged, try using sugar instead of a stick. You'll get much better treatment if you use sugar. read more

This place used to be our top choice for getting our three fur kids taken care of...no more. Things have gone downhill and prices went up over the past three visits...not the business model or strategy I'd pursue. Just my humble opinion: Recommend you visit this place and make your own assessment before you make your decision to bring your fur kids for care. Not a lot of positive to share about the staff's skill sets or the overall customer service experience...as far as cleanliness as of today? I'll leave that up to you to decide if you walk that path. My 10 yr old Border Collie was groomed for the first time last year (not at The PET House) and it was a miserable experience for her. I explained her needs to them, and was ignored. They shaved her (badly), to bare skin in places, razor burns in others and they shaved off her nipples - no kidding. So this year I chose to book early with The PET House as they came very highly recommended. And I couldn't be more pleases! Her cut is beautiful, no lumps, bumps, bruises, abrasions or limps upon pickup. The nice lady who groomed her explained how she took things step by step to make sure my girl was comfortable and had a positive experience. Worst experience ever! We made an appointment for two dogs.  Arrived on time, and as instructed, rang the doorbell upon arrival. No one answered.  Finally, after three attempts, a woman appeared with a mask around her neck.  She looked at me,  and upon realizing I was Asian, threw her mask on. When I informed her of my name and that I had an appointment, her response was less than friendly. A family member has a compromised immune system, so out of an abundance of caution, I asked if the groomer wears a mask while handling dogs.  Her entire non-verbal behavior became hostile. She said her husband just had a kidney transplant, so it was okay not to wear a mask.  When I insisted on safety, she became aggressive and practically slammed the door in my face saying, "Take your dogs elsewhere." ​ read more

Considering she left our mini poodle with cuts all over himself and she was super rude to us! I have never had such a terrible experience with a dog groomer. He was literally BLEEDING and had scabs from her grooming and her excuse was that he "moves" too much. We've been taking him to PET SMART which you would think would be worse than someone who specializes in this and NEVER had an issue. She's super aggressive and confrontational. I had tried other grooming establishments in the past and had mixed results. When my daughter was still at home, she started working for Pet House and told me to give them a try. Pet House is a little hole in the wall establishment that mostly the locals know about and I really like it that way. We always get our dogs into the groomers in a very reasonable time frame and they always come out looking great. Roxanne and her crew are fantastic. Took my three dogs in for a spa day. Called to check on them and was told they would be ready in about 30 minutes. Then was told to bring cash as their credit machine was not working. I told them I wish they had told me earlier as I did not have the 200 cash on me. She said to go to the bank and get it. I tried to tell her I was not from here but from the puyallup area when she said your dogs cuts are free and hung up on me. When I picked up my dogs, I gave the girl who groomed them a $100 tip as she works on commission and it was not fair for her to not be paid. The owner said she was going to take the tip from the girl as she was eating the cost of the grooming. How sad that the owner felt the need to take the tip from her employee. I told her I could not believe she would screw her employee like that and was told she screwed her employees and they liked it. Not my kind of business I want to be associated with. I would love to have the girl do my dogs on the side as she did an amazing job. read more

Had an extremely unsatisfactory phone conversation with one of the groomers just now. As a regular every 6-8 week or so customer for about the last year, I had been satisfied with how they groomed my white miniature poodle. Following his last grooming on Jan 23 2018, I had talked with someone there just to let them know that my miniature poodle had developed numerous small abscesses on his belly by the next morning. They said they would let the groomer know. When I called today to make another appointment, the groomer got on the phone to speak with me about it. She became quite defensive despite me saying several times that I only wanted to make her aware that there had been a problem the last time. I tried to explain that I wasn't blaming her or saying she did something wrong, only that it had happened. As a veterinarian, I treated him and he healed up fine with so I wasn't concerned about that. Just wanted to provide feedback and bring it to her attention that something happened differently after this grooming compared to all the other uneventful groomings. When I was practicing I did appreciate clients providing me feedback. It's always nicer to get positive feedback but I wanted to know if things didn't go as well as hoped or planned too. He had gone in there that day with no problem and developed his infections right after being groomed there. She refused to even consider the possibility that the grooming played any part in it and implied that something must have happened at home here, that he must have gotten into "something" that night and even that I wasn't using the right antibiotics on him. Her attitude and tone became increasingly confrontational and unprofessional. I wasn't upset that my little dog had developed a problem after the grooming but did became upset by this conversation. They have lost me as a customer - I would not let her handle my dog after this conversation and will not be going back. read more

I have taken my dogs here for a few years without issue. Today, I brought my dog in and 5 hours later he still isn't done. When I asked when I could pick him up I got nasty attitude from the groomer and was basically told I should know better than to expect my dog in a reasonable timeframe. I won't be back. read more

Great people!! Always accomodating my schedule and the dogs love them!! I have a golden retriever and a black lab. The black lab tends to break out of kennels and chew leashes-lol, does NOT like to be confined, but Roxanne always takes care of him and he loves her! I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more
