Friends just got back from enjoying the ride!

Jerome is absolutely awesome!! He starts you out in around 10 playing tag learning your commands right and left, and the game of tag is very fun!! If he thinks you're ready through his experience and professional opinion he'll allow you out on a trail ride on to the property I was able to enjoy a trail ride with friends and not only enjoy the trail ride but also admire the beauty and strength that horses possess and the gentleness and personality that horses have my experience left me wanting to learn more about horses and how to communicate with horses and ride more

Best Fourth of July events ever. Tug-of-war, horseback, riding, four wheeling, petting zoo, hanging out with the horses and feeding them while they pasture and there is a gun range outback. Such an amazing experience. We went this past Saturday last minute with my cousin, she told us the pricing before, and I agreed! $55 per hour per person with a two hour minimum so you can expect to pay at least $110 for at least two hours per person for those that can't do math. Jerome and Joe were the most amazing hosts. Although I was a bit scared in the beginning, they easily calm me down with all of their knowledge and experience in dealing with horses. They treated us like family, and in the end of our visit we were talking about coming up for Their annual Fourth of July event. Jerome, let us know that they do one hell of a Fourth of July every year. This is true because I went two years in a row. We started off in the arena to get familiar with the horses in writing. They give you a very clear and thorough direction on riding your horse taking charge and being in control. About an hour after instruction, and a game of horse tag, we were able to walk a beautiful trail through the forest. I brought my 10-year-old daughter along and in the beginning I was very fearful and over protective with her around the horses, but Jerome and Joe treated her like one of their own children. She was safe with them and I was totally and completely comfortable with them showing her what to do. They had faith in her ability to ride along side of us in the trail through the forest on her own horse. She did an amazing job as a first timer. Treated my daughter like one of their own. They've got a beautiful property and animals throughout including rabbits, turtles, chickens, roosters, dogs, and obviously horses. They even gave us rain and riding boots to wear, since we came totally unprepared in the shoe department. We laughed the entire time we rode on the trail in during our visits with them. What an amazing experience. They also offer horse riding lessons. They have a gun range in the back. They host parties and events for an affordable price. Jerome has even created a special Intimate night out for a couples which can include a carriage and a horse whatever color you would like. Obviously not purple and I am pretty sure unicorns are not available, but I don't doubt that Jerome could make it happen if you ask him. In my experience with other places that offer horseback riding experiences they're slow, and it takes several visits before you're allowed to go out and ride the way that we were allowed to. Jerome did say that he had faith in us and him watching our abilities to ride in the short amount of time that he instructed us. We cannot wait to go back. Jerome and Joe have have an amazing business and they are the sweetest most beautiful couple. I must try you have to go see the location and the beautiful expansive property and all of the animals.

My husband and I had a BLAST getting back in the saddle after a long time away from riding; and the last few trail rides were pleasant and wonderful, but super slow. I spoke on the phone with Jerome and he was such a HOOT; he is a hoot in person as well! We were NOT disappointed by our time there! Everyone was welcoming and he got us up and riding so quickly and pushed us to get our balance and confidence back. The only sad thing was that we are older and out of shape, LOL! Otherwise we would have LOVED to spend another hour with the beautiful horses and the team there.... but we plan to be back as soon as possible and I'm certainly bringing the kiddos to meet the Legends family and to have an exciting ride that they will never forget.

Went here with my brother and his girlfriend and had a great experience! All the staff were friendly and fun. I definitely plan to go back again.

After being cooped up all year because of the rona, we finally got a day to spend out at Legends Ranch. It's out in Roy so it's about 30 minutes from Tacoma and 45 from Olympia. The drive from Oly is very scenic and there are other great stops along the way like Stewart's meats. The ranch may seem a bit confusing as you enter the gate and see a bunch of cars (the owner also has a car business). Simply drive up the slope and you find more parking and reach the grounds where you can see the riding corrals. There are also other areas for parties with seating, and animal boarding. I couldn't count how many horses they have but I know it's more than I have of fingers and toes. They know which horses' temperaments are better for novice riders so that's helpful for those who are new to horses. They also have several other animals like birds and zebras. It's just a treat you don't want to miss. Jerome and his wife Jo are friendly and make you feel like family. A great way to get outside, get exercise, and spend time with animals. A cure for the blah we're in.

My husband organized this as my birthday present and we brought along a couple of friends. What an amazing experience and the staff was what made the experience even more rewarding. I had no experience at all riding and they were so patient and kind.

Rest before hitting the trails

She gets so excited when we pull in, pulls us to the door and doesn't even turn around to say goodbye when the lead her out into the dog area. I have no hesitations at all leaving her here since I know she is so happy to be there. The staff is super friendly and you can tell that they love dogs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We do not have her do play time with the other dogs, but she is in her own fenced area and runs around all day. Do note their hours before you go to drop of, or pick up your dog. They are closed for an hour for lunch. I remembered this the hard way by forgetting once and having to sit out in the hot sun for 50 minutes until they opened again!

Jean was full of great information and very helpful in the initial transition to our home. She also had completed numerous health tests including the one for DM. Ziva is definitely "high drive", very smart and yet super loving. At 7 months she already knows all her basic commands. She is growing very proportionately and has looked like a mini-German Shepherd since coming home(ears straight up). Jean has a strong sense of what to send her clients in matching dogs to people. If you are looking for a "Top Quality German Shepherd" I suggest you contact her. We have had GSD's for 20 years and she is definitely one of the best we have come in contact with. Ziva is a great addition to our family and gets along well with our male GSD! Jean Schrader is a great breeder!

Needless to say the puppy never saw maturity as he had to be put down after only 24 months. He had Mega-Esophagus disease. This was diagnosed by the last vet that saw him and told us the Mega-Esophagus is a genetic trait pasted down from either male or female. We approached Jean Schrader with this information and she presented us with the puppy contract that is written in very grey verbiage that even a lawyer doesn't understand. She also told us this was nothing she did and she had never heard of such a problem and then told us we had to have caused this. Basically slamming the door in our face. With this in mind I hope that anyone that is looking for a German Shepherd or whatever Jean is selling keeps looking. She cannot be trusted and her staff cannot be trusted. Do not buy ANYTHING from Schraderhaus K9. You will regret it not only emotional but financially also. I have already contacted AKC, ASPCA and any other agency that will get involved with this to shut Schraderhaus K9 down. No one or animal needs to go through this ever again. Good luck in searching elsewhere, MongoLikeCandy

After our local training place closed we were looking for other options and committed to positive reinforcement training. Unfortunately a lot of trainers use aversives, especially with large strong dogs. We were so excited to find Julia, and after our meet & greet we were confident she was a good choice. Julia did a 2 week board & train with our dog while we were traveling, mainly focusing on leash skills and practicing calm behavior around exciting things. We noticed an immediate improvement, but have also been continuing to work on the training at home after our follow up. I'm happy to report that we are continuing to see improvement using Julia's methods.
