Our pack consists of Frankie (cockapoo), Maggie (medium mutt), and Charlie (Newfypoo) - needless to see they are a lot to handle and need lots of love and attention. Laureen provides all that, and then some! She was so easy to communicate with prebooking, and when she came over to meet the family in person she was so sweet and informative. Love the report cards that let us know how he adjusted! Fast forward to 2025 and a promotion for Star Student Training (1 on 1 with Danville, their trainer). Pancho needed that because my husband passed and his anxiety is through the roof. We came two times a week and learned all the skills that my daughter paid $3000 for at a boarding trainer. We chatted and Danville advised on how to handle a number of issues. My loving 8 year old boy has learned so fast - if only I can give him the repetitions he needs. We are taking a break while I address my health issues but meanwhile we connected with the groomer for nails and hope to have him do the 3 hour play sessions. Pancho's excitement when I say we are going to see Danville is over the top with jumping and cries of joy. Linda, Danville, and the staff LOVE dogs as I witnessed in my two hour a week sessions. Kindness Animal Hospital is TERRIBLE! Do NOT trust them. Paid almost $1,000 to be told my Pure Bengal Cat Chloe (over a $2,000 cat) would survive a parasite issue. Less than 2 weeks of watching her suffer, she passed. Took them over 3 business days to call me back about my concerns. I watched my cat suffer for 2 weeks, shoving meds down her throat while putting almost 1,000 in their account. I expressed my concerns again and was told there is nothing they can do. Suggesting their treatment was correct amd she must have died from a blood clot. As for the large amount of money I spent, they could care less. Said I could contact their insurance if I felt I was wronged. A week later... I take my records and bloodwork from Kindness and took them to Santa Barbara Animal Hospital and Dr. Kerr was awesome!! Went there with my concerns for what Kindness did to me and the Dr. Kerr gave me 30minutes of his time for no charge. He gave me so much useful information. Just by looking at my records and Chloe's bloodwork, he was able to clarify what was truly wrong with my Chloe. Dr. Kerr is Amazing!!!! As for Kindess, they were treating an issue but ignoring a much larger issue, a GI issue that 9 out of 10 would kill her and she was suffering. I should have been told this and given the option of putting her to sleep peacefully and end the suffering. However Kindness ignored this GI issue and chose to lie to me telling me it was only a parasite issue that would in NO way kill her. Do not use KINDESS Animal Hospital. There is NOTHING kind about them!! Just fake smiles and deep pockets! Oh and they altered their notes prior to giving me copies. Notes stated they requested I go and get an X-ray to check for cancer which we were NEVER told. Funny how records and notes change after they realize they killed your pet slowly. I'm writing this with a very heavy heart after losing our dog, Cooper. This had been our clinic for…read moreabout a year and a half. The KNEW Cooper and all of his issues very well. We brought him to this clinic ($200) because he had stopped eating and was clearly declining. During the initial visit, they simply examined him and noticed nothing out of the ordinary and ran labs. The next day when we called for results they were busy and said they'd call back but they never did and between my wife and I, we had to call a few times to get response. they said they couldn't find the fecal lab rqst which was bizarre since we took a specimen to them and it was clearly outlined in the summary of visit and charges sheet...very annoyed and so I got some more of his feces and went back and at that time he was still in bad shape. They found the missing fecal results and we got the lab results back and explained by the girl at the front desk and determined his liver enzymes were elevated. Hmmm, ok...I had several more questions and finally got to speak to the vet directly who gave me more specific info that should have been initially given as opposed to me having to pry it out of them. He was in beginning stages of kidney failure. we were told that with the right medications to get him eating that he might have anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. So another $100 for medication to mitigate the nausea and meds to encourage desire to eat. That gave us hope and the sense that we had some time to stabilize him. The next day -- not weeks, not months, but the very next day -- Cooper died! Sudden and unexpectedly! We trusted that advice because we assumed the clinic understood how serious his condition was. Instead, we were left completely unprepared for how close he truly was to the end. I understand that no vet can predict everything, and I'm not writing this out of anger. I'm writing it because the lack of urgency, the reassurance that we had more time, and the decision to prescribe medication without the need to see him again created a false sense of stability. Losing him the very next day was devastating, and I wish we had been given clearer communication about the severity of his condition. Pet owners rely on their vets not just for treatment, but for honest guidance. I hope this review encourages the clinic to be more cautious and transparent when discussing prognosis, so no one else has to experience this kind of heartbreak without warniing! Additionally, "Details matter" - #1-to be told we'd be called back but we weren't. #2- being told they didn't do a fecal test which prompted me to have to get more and rush it over there and THEN, they find it. #3-The front desk girl processing payment for 2 more meds and vague info that prompted me to insist on speaking directly to the vet to get succinct information. #4- The hope given that the medication could get him to eat and that would've potentially saved him. #5-The lack of urgency that he's likely going to die. Almost feels like they knew and just wanted more money out of us. - just how it feels to us. Our perception based on this experience makes this "Our Reality"

My husband &I drove to Ft myers from North Port to check out Preppy Pet. From time we walked in, they met our girl, they fell in love with her, and she felt comfortable. Day of cruise we took her there she at first didn't understand why we were leaving her, but she did very well. When we picked her up wk later she was happy to see us. We had pictures of her being silly. They impressed me, the employees do love the dogs & my girl knew that she truly loved her. She is very laid back loves to sunbathe and she had a great time there. Yes we worried because we never leave her take her everywhere with us/she is a service dog/medical alert dog. So she's very intelligent. If she was unhappy I could tell but she was happy. I am picky of where we take her for boarding. I was very impressed by the whole place. She will be going there again dec 2025. Here's the quick story: we dropped off on a Saturday afternoon and said we'd come back on Sunday at 4 p.m. Their windows to pick up on Sunday are 10:00-10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.-4:30 p.m. by appointment only. So we agreed to pick up on Sunday at 4 p.m. with the employee on duty and the employee also agreed. We showed up on Sunday at 3:55 p.m. and waited until 4:15 p.m. No one was there and no one answered the door, which was locked. We called twice and left voicemails and we never received a phone call back. There was a sign on the door that said closed due to the Easter holiday. We picked up on Monday morning, the next day, at 7 a.m. and they charged us for the extra day, so total was $82 for the two days. They also charge $10-11 extra if you want "all day play." We asked why the employee said to come back at 4 p.m. to pick up on Sunday if they were going to be closed for the holiday and the response was, "didn't you see the sign?" They also keep all dogs in the back, and they don't allow anyone back there so no transparency which is very suspicious. I would not recommend this company and they've lost our business permanently. We will use another company going forward.
