We adopted a 1 year old resuce chihuahua in 2018 who was prickly at first. Pancho did not behave well his first few minutes but they gave him a second chance and he was able to stay there, even when we went to Montana for 10 days. Love the report cards that let us know how he adjusted! Fast forward to 2025 and a promotion for Star Student Training (1 on 1 with Danville, their trainer). Pancho needed that because my husband passed and his anxiety is through the roof. We came two times a week and learned all the skills that my daughter paid $3000 for at a boarding trainer. We chatted and Danville advised on how to handle a number of issues. My loving 8 year old boy has learned so fast - if only I can give him the repetitions he needs. We are taking a break while I address my health issues but meanwhile we connected with the groomer for nails and hope to have him do the 3 hour play sessions. Pancho's excitement when I say we are going to see Danville is over the top with jumping and cries of joy. Linda, Danville, and the staff LOVE dogs as I witnessed in my two hour a week sessions. We've been taking Henry here for awhile now. For daycare. He really enjoys his playtime with other pups. Made some friends and has learned to interact with other dogs as well as other humans. He requires medication and the staff made sure he got it on time. The staff is always very kind, easy going and friendly. They really do want to make sure that you as well as your pup are satisfied. What is really cool is that for the holidays they have an actual holiday photo shoot available with a professional pet photographer. My Henry tends to be a bit on the nervous side when pics are taken but she put him at ease and got him in a variety of Christmas stuff with great pics. Not one bad photo. Don't worry I only chose 3 of his many pics to share. If my Henry is pleased so am I. The pricing is affordable and they have great hours. However, They do have nap time between 12:30pm and 2pm. My dog Rowdy loves his daycare experience at The Dog Resort. He gets excited when I pull into the parking lot. All the staff knows his name, they greet him when we enter. He goes to the day to the play area and ready for the day. The staff takes wonderful care of him, gives not just a report card online but will inform me of anything that happens during his stay. From how he interacted, ate, or if he appeared different from his normal actions. He loves the people and dogs there and is always just a very happy boy going, while there and after. It truly gives me a peace of mind of how his day and care will be every time he goes. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my boy. read more

Seven years ago I was thrilled with the dog resort...after today, not so much. First - you open the door & get hit in the face with the scent of urine! I was there in March & it didn't reek. The place needs a serious sanitizing. Second - I took my dog in for a bath & tidy. The groomer assured me she would call when my boy was done. After 2-1/2 hours I finally called them! The groomer was gone & my dog was alone in the grooming area in a crate. How uncaring and unprofessional. Management needs to get a grip on this place before it's too late. Have been sending my dogs here for a while. Left our dog for 4 days, on the night of day 3 I realized they sent us a report card and our dog hadn't eaten anything. No one even bothered to read the notes and try wet food as I asked or call us to let us know. Our dog got severely sick couldn't hold water down puking and diarrhea every 30 minutes. I reached out to the facility Sunday, it's Tuesday and no one has even bothered to respond or care. I will never ever send my dogs there again. I recommend you stay far away especially with animals that can't tell us the real story of what is going on in there. read more

We just moved to FL in May of this year and I have to travel for work. Our girl was evaluated but she is a bit high energy and a total Alpha so we took a private suite. She did great and Dog Resort send a great report card each day on her demeanor. I enjoyed the report card and it brought me relief. I do not like leaving her since she became a Senior and us very attached but she does love people so I was happy with the attention the staff gave to our girl:) We will be coming back. read more

They didn't do the evaluation on day one so our dog stayed in a "suite" for a week with very little interaction. Our dog didn't eat well (likely depressed because they kept her in a closed space with no love. She was supposed to be groomed while there - they called at the end of her stay saying it didn't happen. (Note this is the 2nd time they cancelled grooming within hours of her appointment) Charged extra fees for holiday that were not disclosed to us. Provided no feedback about her stay during her stay. They gave her a bath but she stinks so doubt they did. AWFUL experience from start to finish! read more

Staff did not care for my animals as we paid them to do. Would not recommend them since my dogs got deathly ill after a week stay! Brought into their attention the next day but they didn't care until I complained on Facebook weeks later ! They are neglectful and weren't worried until the internet blast! Shame on you! DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR ANIMALS HERE. I took both of my dogs here from Friday- Monday to stay in a suite. Monday comes and they both seemed to be fine but I couldn't tell much because I was distracted by talking with the people there. As soon as my GS got in the car I could immediately tell something was off with him. He wasn't acting crazy and he was just laying down. When we got home he jumped out of the car and whined, then started limping. I knew immediately something was not right. So I called dog resort - no answer - so I left them a voicemail to call back. I have called 5 times and my MIL called twice. NO ANSWER. so at this point I'm frustrated, and went by the facility. The lady at the front seemed concerned for him and told me she would talk to the people who were around him AND call me back, even wrote it on a sticky note. I HAVE YET, to hear anything back from them regarding my dog. I understand that things happen. He could've just played too hard. Who knows. But I do NOT appreciate the lack of communication. I just wanted to know if they saw anything happen. By them not answering and not contacting me, I'm sure something happened in THEIR facility that they don't want to tell me. I am so upset/angry over this situation. Just spent $150 at the Vet and will eventually spend more because I'm sure he will need X-rays. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE. I will do all of these dogs justice by telling every person in Florida about this facility. HORRIBLE business. We recently started using this facility for doggie day care and just picked our dog up from a week of vacation. I was initially skeptical of cage-less boardings, but after getting her used to it during day care, it worked out well. We also had a suite for evenings to give her some separation time. Our dog was a bit assertive with other dogs, but this definitely helped. When we came to get her today, I watched her on camera just walking around the other dogs, as calm as could be. We will definitely use The Dog Resort moving forward. Very reasonably priced as well. Very friendly staff and well organized. read more

The Dog Resort-Butchered my dog!!! (Pics tell the story) My normal dog groomer was unavailable and I took a chance with one of the new groomers at The Dog Resort on March 2nd. We had guests visiting and I wanted a fresh groom for my beautiful dog, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. My current groomer (Shannon) left The Dog Resort (now I know why) in October 2020. I followed her to her new place, Paradise Grooming in Cape Coral.  See "Before" pics of groomer Shannon's work, immediately following a groom and even weeks after grooming. One "Before" picture even shows my dog the day before she went to Dog Resort and was scalped. Note her beautiful coat, which as one would imagine, requires a trained professional, versus chopping and clippers.  The Dog Resort groomer on March 2nd said my dog was tangled. She's been tangled...but professionally groomed (every 6 weeks) for 9 years. The Dog Resort shaved her, including her breed trademark beard and whimsical legs, to almost skin, something I have never seen in her 9 years. Grooming is grooming, which means you have to groom or or maybe even comb out some areas. Her last groom was only 6 weeks ago and we know there has not been serious weather in Ft. Myers or anything that would impact my dog's normal care and grooming routine. Not that it matters, we brush her every day. Here we live in a small gated community with well-maintained grass and a lanai. She has romped around on acres of land in Pennsylvania, snow, rain, tangled, even matted a bit between groomings, but never ever had someone shaved her. She was no more tangled than she has ever been, as a matter fact even less as a result of friendly Florida weather, paved neighborhood and extra grooming care by my family in our current stay at home mode. This is pure abuse; neglect and laziness. No one has EVER taken clippers and shaved my dog's "Clydesdale" legs. I specifically told the groomer that she has moles and warts, so be careful, thinking she would use scissors and trim her down some as has been done for 9 years. They shaved her entire body bald and exposed moles (no fur/coat protection) and my vet was immediately concerned about these exposed and shaved moles bursting from impact or rubbing on an object. There is also a health concern for skin cancer as a result of shaving her nearly to her bones and direct sun exposure to moles and skin tags. We were told it could take up to 6 months for her leg coat to grow back. The owner, of course, offered a refund. I told her I would pay 10 times the fee to put my dog back together. She said she would follow up with the groomer, I popped in there a couple days later and the owner said the cashier heard groomer say she was going to have to cut her down some. Cut her down? She has been cut down, trimmed, groomed all her life, but never carelessly and recklessly shaved nearly to her bones. She looks like a miniature pony, llama or camel - not a beautiful Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. I have not heard from the owner since. So, add this to all your other bad reviews on YELP. Check out one of the "After" pictures (circled) where one of the moles has burst now and we are concerned about infection. I believe groomers should have to have to be licensed, which they don't, pass some proficiency test, AND have a heart. The Dog Resort is the reason why!!! Butchers! Butchers! Butchers! read more

Our two Dachshunds love The Dog Resort. We take them a couple times a month for fun with others doggies. They come home tired.

My neighbor and I took our dogs here One dog for just a bath and one dog for haircut. The dog that got the bath didn't that clean when we picked her up and her fur didnt have the shine that she usual gets right after a bath The dog that got the haircut looked like a mess. We gave them specific instructions on the haircut and when we picked up the dog she looked like an amateur who had just started to learn shaved the dog. Blotches of short and long hair. Her feet not trimmed. I had to take out my shears to trim her up when we got home. We had booked the appointment 4days in advanced on a day they said was slow. We were to drop her off at 9:30 and we actually arrived at 9:20. The groomer wasn't in yet but they assured us she would be done by 1 pm and they would call us. My neighbor was to pick up the dogs as I was going to be shopping down in Naples and would not be home until 4 pm. Much to my surprise when t returned home the dogs were not home. I called the shop and they were just finishing the cut on our neighbors dog and she would be ready by 4:30. Off we went so we would be there by 4:30. Needless to say she was not finished when we arrived. When they finally brought her out all we wanted to do is get the dogs home. But wait. When we walked outside both dogs pulled us over to the dog walk area and pooped and peed. I don't they took them outside the entire time they were there. I was so disappointed that I don't even go back there anymore to buy my dog food. I go to Little Paws Pet Bakery. Darlene the owner is great. read more

I love this place. I have a 2 year old, 4 lb yorkie that, yes I am overprotective with. I knew she needed her teeth cleaned but I didn't want her put under. I talk to people about non anesthetic teeth clean and had mixed feeling. I was very apprehensive on our way, but when she met me at the door and calmly took Daisy in her arms I knew this was going to be great. When I came to come pick her up, Daisy was asleep in her arms. We wished to find a good reputable daycare to maximize social time for Perry and visited with a few well reviewed daycares within the area. My dog loved it here! He always seemed to have a great time and came home exhausted. I used the dog resort for daycare and multiple day boarding. My dog is small so I understand him getting the brunt of mess, but every time he came home smelling like urine. He got a bath from them a couple times at the end of the stay, truly couldn't tell because he still smelt awful. They used to send out report cards the first night of the stay so you could follow along with how your dog is eating and behaving. Now, I practically have had to beg them to send me this information. I can tell there has been major staff turnover and quality of care and customer service has gone downhill drastically. We reserved a "Private Suite" for our 5lb Pomeranian for three nights. When we dropped her off we also dropped of her favorite Bed and Blanket. So she would be more comfortable. When we returned to pick her up they brought her out to us without her Bed and Blanket. When I asked for those items they pretended to not be able to find them. Then after about 10 mins they were brought out to us covered in large amounts of diarrhea. I told them that there is no way that came from our dog she is only 5lbs. The employee told me that a large dog had gone to the bathroom all over her bed and blanket. I asked how that could happen since we had paid for a Private suite. We are out of state visitors to the Ft. Meyers area and were looking for a pet resort for our 13 year old Havanese, "Bear" for 13 days. We talked to the people from The Dog Resort and were optimistic this was the place for our dog. Let me start by saying our dog has anxiety issues when "mom" is not with him. After dropping the dog off we felt comfortable calling after a week and one of the Dog Resort staff conveyed how well Bear was doing. We called the day before notifying the "Dog Resort" we would be arriving around 10am and please have him ready. We arrived at 9:45 am to pick up our precious Bear. As they brought him out we noticed he was very subdued. We had left anxiety pills for Bear to be used only if needed. Let me just say we did not receive any of the pills back at the handoff. The staff also did not have his bed, blanket, eye medicine, bowls, extra soft food in the cans, and on and on. The poor dog smelled so bad from pee that he was almost unbearable to be around. The presumed owner asked if we still wanted to have him bathed and at first I was so mad I declined the offer only to take him back in to do what they were suppose to have done before we got there. As of this date we are still waiting for Bears meds to be shipped back to us AT OUR COST. I'm not sure if our Bear was treated differently than the local resident dogs but I can assure you we will never be back after all this. Our dog has still not recovered to the once happy, lovable companion we left with this group of sitters. I can personally confirm this resort IS NOT what the reviews state. Have an inventory of your items left at this or any other pet resort and hold the owner/staff to the quality you expect for your pet. Very pissed off owner. read more

This is a little late, but I wanted to share an experience I had Fall 2021. I was out of the country and left my Frenchie (Remi) and OE Bulldog (Rosebud) in the Pet Resort's care for 3 weeks. Rosebud started to feel poorly and the manager suggested they take her to my vet. She was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. Not much to do except keep her comfortable. The vet did not think she would make it until I came back. They fronted payment of her vet bill (which I did not know until I came back). They called, texted or emailed constant updates with a 9 hour time difference. They knew Rosebud loved the beach and took her and her sister to the "Doggie Beach" and sent photos (2 of the employees on their off day). Rosebud made it another week after I got home so I was able to say goodbye. Truly above and beyond. read more

I took my múltipoo to this place for the first time. She had a long beautiful tail that we had let grow with just being trimmed, since she was a puppy. She had some mats in hair as long haired múltipoos get around her neck and legs. I knew they would have to cut her hair short, nothing new to me. However they were told specifically to not cut the hair on her tail. This place literally shaved all of the hair on her tail. When I called extremely upset about what they had done. All that girl who "groomed" her said is she had to shave it, because she is claiming it was matted. She is a liar!!! She stated that it is only hair and would grow back. How absolutely unprofessional. I asked her if it was that matted especially after expressing I did not want it cut, why didn't she call? No instead she stated, she should not have to call and discuss with me what she does with my dog. Who in their right mind thinks that is appropriate? I can tell you, it sure is not me! I will NEVER take my dog back there again! I should have just waited until my groomer in the Cape had an appointment. This girl Ariana or whatever her name is...should not be grooming dogs! She not only made my dog look absolutely hideous, but has no remorse what so ever for what she did! I added 2 photos, the first is what they did to my dog. The hair on her head is all choppy. I wanted to formally say that I'm beyond disappointed with your service in Fort Myers. My horror story began with the first call and our first lie. We were told that the behavior assessment was only completed during weekdays, we were kind of surprised (Everyone that wants day care is probably because they have JOBS), but we decided to give it a try an made arrangements to be able to take them to the assessment. The lady over the phone said that after the assessment the dogs could stay for daycare and "Maybe" boarding ("Really"?) "Maybe"? This is the first place in my life that after a dog behavior assessment they said they may or may not stay? Are you kidding? So why require an evaluation? and even if they pass you say NO for boarding? Anyways, we decided to try it and be "positive" about it, So the saga continued once my wife arrived. Waiting for confirmation on all the paper work my wife mentioned that after the evaluation (If they pass) we would like for them to stay in a full Day of daycare. (Same thing they said over the phone) For our surprise her answer was a NO saying that the only way that could happen it was if they were really really good during the evaluation.("Really") (first you say Yes and now you say NO? Again they just lie to us over the phone and then make us loose Hours of our jobs pick them up) The funny thing was that under their "evaluation" one of my Dogs was "Too playful" and had too much energy. ("Really"?) Why have a dog daycare and expect for the dogs to be calm and sleepy? Isn't the whole purpose of the daycare to get them all tired and have play time so they can come home tired from it???????? Not Just that, they pull her away from the group an let her alone while she hears other dogs having fun (wont that get her sad and anxious?). When my wife picked them up my dogs were more happy about living that Shitty place than when they came in.(First Time we have experienced that). But guess what? they said she "could" start on half day Daycare and eventually work her way up for full days and theeeennnnn boarding. (Really?) (I guess you guys think normal people have no JOBS). I have no Idea who is the person running this business but for sureeeeeeeeeeeeeee it doesn't know anything about dogs. Moving from DC and having Excellent experiences with: dogtopia and poochieplayhouse It is not necessary to say that I was expecting similar service and treatment for my dogs. And where very excited to have our dogs in. I guess at this point you are asking yourself why I wanted to check you guys? Just so you know, you just have lost a minimum of a $7680 in a year basis client (2 dogs full daycare) + boarding days(Even more money).............. so I guess you guys are doing "too well" to even give a fair service..... from the bottom of my heart I just dream for you guys to run "Out of business" sooner than later, and then eventually you guys can call any of the places mentioned above in order to learn how to treat you costumers.... Maybe next time you should read about breeds and know that huskies are very high energy and they required attention and exercise, not to be grounded for wanting to play with other dogs, and furthermore separate her from her own sister. When we take our dogs to daycare we want them to have a happy, full of exercise day but apparently that is not your vision. Our 9 Month old Hungarian Vizsla got kicked out of here yesterday after going for about 5 months. I don't want to write a long review so I'll keep short. First if you have a high energy Dog like a Vizsla don't go here. They don't understand the breed. Second they have 90-100 dogs there a day and give the dogs toys to play with, how many I don't know but toys don't belong with that many dogs, it caused problems with our puppy cause she was protecting one and the staff misinterpreted that as aggressive behavior. Thirdly, they are a bunch of liars. They told us the problem was brought to our attention and it wasn't. There are a couple nice staff members and a couple snobby young girls who should be working at Mc Donald's than a Dog daycare. Find a Daycare that's smaller and not so many dogs. read more

I've been using the doggie daycare services since January of 2011. I would highly recommend this place. I have a small dog less than 20lbs and she has never been hurt. They have a large indoor facility and separate the dogs by size. They give a doggie report card to let you know what she was up to. And they offer grooming and boarding services. The place has proven to be my go to place for my doggie sitting needs. Makes me feel a little less guilty knowing they have other dogs to play w. and staff to take care of them. read more

Brought my dog in for the week of Christmas. She has separation anxiety and I left specific instructions regarding this. She has been there in the past, so they are aware of her issues. They didn't follow instructions and she ate her bed due to anxiety. She also wasn't eating much. I would think they should have contacted me since they had my cell number. When I called in to check on her the person on the phone laughed that she ate her bed. I requested to speak to the manager. All she could say is they should have done better. We made the change half way thru her stay to keep her with the pack at night. When I returned to pick her up they had no notes in the file of any of the issues. In fact they were going to charge me for private suite sleeping until I had them phone the manager. Complete lack of communication! Place smells bad too. We will not be returning. read more
